Sadly, the 46-year-old singer’s mom Nidia del Carmen Ripoll Torrado has been hospitalized in Barcelona, reportedly after suffering a blood clot in her leg. According to Spanish network Telemundo, Nidia was originally believed to have suffered a stroke, but now outlets are reporting her ailment is related to deep vein thrombosis — and has not affected her brain.

The grandmother of two was admitted to the hospital “as a matter of urgency” on Friday after she sought medical attention last week due to not feeling well. Thankfully, she’s been reported to be “out of danger” now and will most likely get to go home within the coming days.

So far the Hips Don’t Lie singer hasn’t made any comments on her mom’s health, but this could delay her decision to move again. Late last year her father, William Mebarak Chadid, suffered a fall and required extensive surgery after being hospitalized. The Colombian singer to put off her move to Florida with her sons Sasha and Milan after she broke things off with Gerard Piqué, but her father’s illness forced her to delay.
