The superhero world is mourning a loss.
It’s with heavy hearts we report Valerie Perrine, who starred as Eve Teschmacher in Christopher Reeve’s Superman movies, has sadly passed away at 82 years old. Stacey Souther, filmmaker and close friend of Valerie, confirmed the news to TMZ, revealing she died at her Los Angeles home on Monday.
According to Souther, Valerie had been battling Parkinson’s disease and was largely bedridden for the last decade. As of now, an official cause of death is unclear.

Sources told TMZ that Gene Hackman’s death last year at 95 years old affected Valerie deeply. In the Superman movies, she played his character Lex Luthor’s personal assistant and love interest. The sources also noted she spent Sunday rewatching all of her old flicks, some of which including What Women Want, Silver Skies, and more.
Our hearts go out to her loved ones! Rest in peace.
