The actress took home the Entertainer of the Year award at the 2023 NAACP Image Awards, and referenced Ariana DeBose’s now-viral BAFTAs rap in her speech.
“But that was the assignment. Like, ‘Come celebrate women,’ and I was like, ‘Absolutely!’ We did that and it was fun,” the “Prom” actress says in an upcoming interview.
“Let’s shake it off. Angela Bassett did the thing, shake it off,” the “Good As Hell” singer said during her performance in Amsterdam on Thursday.
The “West Side Story” star previously deactivated her Twitter account in light of the criticism she received for the performance.
