OK, we should preface this by saying we aren’t even 100% sure Amanda Bynes really is pregnant.
Her fiancé (we’re pretty sure, LOLz) Paul Michael posted a photo of a sonogram with Amanda’s name on it on Instagram Tuesday night, complete with an announcement of sorts: “Baby in the making.”
The What I Like About You star liked the post and everything. But then again the two have claimed to have gotten hacked before after their reported breakup (and subsequent removal of all pics of one another from social media).

However, a source did confirm the pregnancy to Us Weekly shortly afterward, and another witness claims to have seen her at the OBGYN’s office in Los Angeles.
So despite the skepticism, we’re going to work from the assumption Amanda really does have a bun in the oven.
And if that is true, the question is… what next?? Well, that could be a tricky question, legally speaking.
Remember, the former child star was reportedly ordered to enter a psychiatric facility less than two weeks ago, though we heard she was refusing to go. However, in response to the pregnancy announcement, Amanda’s attorney David Esquibias told People his client “is seeking treatment for ongoing mental health issues.”
Now sources are telling The Blast that Amanda has allowed herself to be remanded to a facility for 30 days and is already there now.
So… what will happen to the baby??
Well, the reason Amanda was ordered to the facility is because the judge decided based on evidence in the previous conservatorship hearing that she did not have the mental capacity to make adult decisions and care for herself — so clearly based on that ruling she can’t take care of a child, right?
That’s apparently the position her parents are taking as well, as the outlet says their insider claims Lynn and Rick Bynes are planning to file in dependency court and get a ruling on their daughter’s mental fitness in regards to raising a child — and are confident she will not get custody.
But will they??
Remember, the father also has a say here. While he and Amanda met in Alcoholics Anonymous, just being in addiction recovery is not necessarily grounds for him to lose custody.
According to The Blast‘s sources, it’s likely if Paul seeks custody, he and the Byneses will share it — and Amanda will technically only get visitation rights to her own child.
When we first saw the pregnancy announcement, we wondered if Amanda was hoping the baby would be a way to force her parents’ hand in letting her get married — and apparently we weren’t alone in being so cynical. The outlet’s insider says Amanda’s family suspects she intentionally got preggers.
And maybe we’re ALL right! Their sources also tell them Amanda was hoping to get out of her conservatorship and thinks a baby is just the way to do it.
However, based on these sources it doesn’t sound like the All That star’s parents are anywhere close to giving in.
Do YOU think Amanda should get custody of her own child? Or is she still too unstable??
