Hillary Clinton to Meghan Markle Haters: I Will Mom-Slap the Sh-t Outta Y’all!

Meghan Markle has had a tumultuous year.

That might seem an odd thing to say about a woman who welcomed a child in May and is about to finish her first full year as a member of the world's most famous family.

But while she's pretty much universally beloved on this side of the pond (except by her own awful family, of course), Meghan is a divisive figure in the UK.

That's largely a result of two factors:

1. Racism. That one's pretty self-explanatory.

2. The abuse Meghan receives from the British press.

The second factor is linked to the first, but it appears that Meghan's skin color isn't the only reason she's so widely reviled in the press.

There's also the fact that she's an American, an actress, and -- gasp! -- an alleged social climber.

All of this is nonsense, of course, and the press is just grasping at straws in order to justify their baseless hatred of the Duchess of Sussex.

Not many people can relate to Meghan's plight, but if there's anyone who knows what it's like to be savaged in print on a daily basis, it's Hillary Clinton.

Hillary has spoken out on Meghan's behalf in the past, and in a recent BBC interview, she doubled-down on her remarks, reavealing that the Duchess brings out her maternal instincts:

“Oh my God, I want to hug her!” said the former secretary of state.

“I feel as a mother, I just want to put my arms around her.”

Clinton went on to offer words of encouragement to Meghan that likely sound similar to the sort of advice she receives from Queen Elizabeth II:

“I want to tell her to hang in there, don’t let those bad guys get you down,” Clinton said, adding:

“Keep going, do what you think is right.”

From there, Clinton revealed that she has the deepest respect for Meghan and empathizes with anyone who wound up in the public eye due to scrutiny of their spouse:

“She has made her own way in the world then she falls in love, and he falls in love with her, and everybody should be celebrating that because it is a true love story,” Hillary explained.

“You can just look at them and see that," she added.

“You know, it’s not easy,” Clinton concluded.

“And there are some techniques that can be learned along the way, some humor, some deflection, whatever, which I’m sure she will come to.

"But it is tough what she is going through, and I think she deserves a lot better.”

A Royal Family Photo

In more lighthearted news, Harry and Meghan will be spending the holiday season in North America!

The royal couple is expected to pay a visit to Toronto -- where Meghan spent several years filming Suits -- but they'll spend most of their time in her native LA.

And like Hillary, the Sussexes intend to fly right over Wisconsin without stopping.

Just kidding, Hill!
