Well, folks, we're down to the final two.
As The Bachelor spoilers and just about everybody with a pulse predicted, Peter Weber said goodbye to Victoria Fuller on Monday's episode of the ABC reality show.
Victoria wasn't exactly a fan favorite.
Rumors that she was in the habit of sleeping with her friends' husbands certainly played a role in that.
Nevertheless, Peter was clearly upset by the decision, and Chris Harrison later assured viewers that the couple - and Victoria in general - were a bit more stable than it appeared on camera.
So that leaves Madison Prewett and Hannah Ann Sluss ... as well as a very difficult decision for Peter.
Madison made a dramatic late entrance during last night's rose ceremony, but the fact that she showed up at all speaks volumes.
Prewett demonstrated that she might be willing to forgive Peter for sleeping with the other two contestants ...
... emphasis on "might."
As you probably recall, Madison issued Peter an ultimatum before the Fantasy Suite round, and it was a doozy.
Essentially, she declared that she would be forced to end their relationship if he got "intimate" with the competition.
Dude slept with Victoria and Hannah Ann anyway, of course, and Madison was understandably shaken up by it ...
... but still accepted his second-to-last rose on Monday night's episode.
The debate rages on as to whether Madison should have shared her views regarding premarital sex earlier in the competition.
A lot of viewers remain convinced that her timing had more to do with strategy than with her religious beliefs.
We won't get into that today.
Instead, we'll focus on what's next for Peter and Madison, and how what transpired during Fantasy Suite week might affect their future together.
All season, Chris Harrison and others have been promising a twist ending, the likes of which Bachelor fans have never seen before.
No, for real this time.
Obviously, Chris pretty much always promises the "most dramatic season finale ever," but from everything we've read and seen this winter, there's reason to believe he's telling the truth.
For one thing, reliable Bachelor spoilers have been unusually hard to come by, which means there might be merit to Harrison's claim that even Peter doesn't know how this is gonna play out.
Of course, even in this time of increased secrecy and uncertainty, spoiler master Reality Steve can be counted on for the best intel.
The celebrity gossip and reality TV blogger confirmed this week that he's "almost positive [Peter is] not with Hannah Ann.”
Steve believes that Peter is dating Madison, but that the two of them are not engaged.
Instead, they're "taking things slow" and trying to determine if they can build a relationship together despite their differences in values (read: Peter's wandering peter).
But that doesn't mean the final rose ceremony is as simple as Peter giving the symbolic flower to Madison and getting down on one knee.
No, apparently, he has a lot more drama to endure.
According to Steve, Madison's conscience gets the best of her, and she eliminates herself from the competition.
That's when Peter's mom, apparently a card-carrying member of Team Maddy, starts crying and warbles her now-infamous "bring her home to us" line.
Before she leaves Australia, Peter chases Madison down and convinces her to stay - but first, he delivers an awkward apology to Hannah Ann.
After all, she was standing there at the final rose ceremony.
"I don’t think he chose her, but again, I can’t say for sure if he did or didn’t,” Steve reports.
“Seemingly if he wanted her, he would’ve chosen her, had less work to do that day by dumping Madison, and they would’ve left Australia as a couple."
He goes on:
“Just know that if he did, they are no longer together today."
"Peter and Hannah Ann I feel very confident in saying are not a thing right now and won’t be come finale time.”
Yikes.
Obviously, that sucks for Hannah Ann.
Becoming The Bachelorette probably would've been a nice consolation, but as we now know, that's off the table too.
That prize went to Clare Crawley.
This whole thing is just further confirmation that Peter's season was an irredeemable mess from beginning to end.
