This should come as no surprise to anyone who has been following the Sister Wives stars on social media.
However, Meri did spend Father's Day making a pointed reference to spiritual husband Kody Brown, as you can see here:

Meri doesn't cite Kody in that picture, these same readers may be saying.
That's the thing, though, the veteran TLC personality is very clearly joking about the state of her crumbling (totally crumbled?) marriage to Kody by wearing a shirt that reads "Well that didn't go as planned."
The shirt also attributed this quote to "Story of My Life."
Can we prove that Meri is talking her relationship by making this apparel-based statement? No.
But let's look at a few facts, shall we?
For several months now, Meri has used Instagram as a platform to make cryptic messages about Kody, forcing followers to read between the lines -- but only a slight bit.
In reality, anyone paying remotely close attention can quickly and easily sense a theme within Meri's captions and images.
“Keep your eyes open and your feet moving forward. You’ll find what you need," Brown shared via meme last week, for example, prior to also sharing:
“Life is 10% of what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it.”
Then there was the quote that reads as follows:
"If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can't survive."
Translation?
Meri has not been with someone who responds with any sort of empathy and understanding, which ought to come as no surprise to anyone who has seen how Kody has been treating his first wife.
Meri and Kody got married in 1990, only to eventually get divorced because Kody needed to marry Robyn in order to legally adopt her kids from a previous relationship.
In the years since, both Kody and Meri have confessed to serious issues in their romance, with both telling a therapist this year that things are basically over.
Heck, Kody even said he regrets marrying Meri.
Really great guy there, huh?
To her credit, though, Meri has kept her head high and simply relied on social media as a way to indirectly vent at times about how much Kody sucks.
And in case anyone is unsure about whether she was using her Well that didn't go as planned shirt to send a message?

Meri is discussing the ongoing, nationwide push for police reform and social justice here, once again relying on her clothing to make a statement and adding:
"I'm not blind to the fact that we all have different opinions, perceptions, backgrounds, and beliefs, and those things make us unique and important in our own right.
"But I do believe there could be a unity that we don't have right now."
