Justin Duggar and Claire Spivey have decided to get married and this is a story about true love, not about The Hollywood Gossip.
And yet:
WE TOTALLY CALLED IT!
Back in late September, Duggar and Spivey confirmed they were in a courtship.
The former was only 17 at the time and the latter 19, and yet fans immediately started to wonder when these two young lovebirds would get engaged.
Our best guess?
As soon as Justin turns 18 because a minor is not allowed to get legally married in Arkansas.
Fast forward to Sunday, November 15... and Justin celebrating his 18th birthday by doing the following:
Getting down on one knee and proposing to Claire!!!!!
“There is nothing comparable to finding the one you are meant to spend your life with,” the couple told Us Weekly upon announcing their engagement.
“We know we have found that in each other.
"We cannot wait to be married and are looking forward to a life together of faith in Christ, love for one another and happiness!”
The 19 Kids and Counting alum told this same tabloid that proposed to Spivey while celebrating his birthday (we knew it!) with her in Texas.
Granted, the two have only been dating for a couple months.
And, sure, neither is old enough to purchase alcohol.
But the heart wants what the hearts wants -- and controlling parents want what controlling parents want, you know?
“God brought Claire in my life and I wasn’t really expecting it, but he brought her along right when I needed her,” Duggar said in September.
“Ever since then, I just knew that she was the one," he added at the time, sounding like someone totally sure of himself and like someone who knew his girlfriend very well.
"Claire has a lot of good qualities and I can sit here and tell you all of them, but there are so many good things that Is see in her.
"I’m so blessed to have her in my life.”
As for Spivey's take on a relationship that was definitely not forced upon her by her mother and father?
"Justin and I’s families have known each other for over 20 years so before he or I were even born, and then we got connected last year," she said early this fall.
"I’m really looking forward to the memories to come spent with him.
"I’m excited to see what the Lord holds for us in the near future."
The Lord -- and/or the sciene of having sex without using any protection -- will almost definiitely hold kids in the future of Justin and Claire.
We'd have to imagine they get to work in this area as soon as they exchange vows.
The future spouses, meanwhile, met in the spring of 2019 and got to know each other when Justin spent some time in Texas with Claire's loved ones.
Duggar is the 14th youngest child of Jim Bob and Michelle; while Claire is the oldest of six kids.
On a video chat that aired during a recent episode of TLC's Counting On, Justin introduced his now-fiancee to his famous family members.
The teenager told his mom, dad and siblings at the time that Spivey was “outgoing, very sweet and nice” at the time, explaining in a confessional how they managed to find “quality time” together amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“Even though we can’t go out to eat all the time or maybe go bowling or something, I think there [are] other ways,” he said.
The couple’s love story, of course, will be featured on the upcoming season of Counting On.
No congratulatory words just yet from Jim Bob, Michelle or any of Justin's brothers or sisters.
No doubt they'll be coming soon, however.
Until then, Justin and Claire are probably fantasizing about how amazing it will feel to kiss for the first time ever.
