Every time we talk about this couple we feel like we need to clarify a few things at the outset:

It's true that Scott Disick and Amelia Hamlin's relationship is perfectly legal.

But that doesn't mean it's not majorly gross.

Scott, as you probably know, is 37, and Amelia is 19.

That means, obviously, that Scott is nearly twice his girlfriend's age.

It also means that Amelia is only eight years older than Scott's eldest child, which is beyond icky.

Despite the obvious power imbalance, however, it seems that those who know the couple best have come to accept their creepy romance.

Insiders say Lisa Rinna was not happy when she first learned of her daughter's relationship.

But amazingly, Lisa has now come to accept Scott's role in Amelia's life,

(Or at the very least, she's decided that she no longer wants to do battle with her daughter on a public stage.)

Whatever the case, it seems that Disick and Hamlin are no longer facing any opposition.

Now, they're free to just dive in head first -- and it seems that that's exactly what they're doing.

With all the PDA and coupled-up Instagram pics, it certainly didn't seem like Scott and Amelia were holding back before.

But apparently, now that their path has been cleared, they're really going full-steam ahead.

"He's been telling friends how much she means to him and how into her he is," a source close to the situation tells People magazine.

Yes, if Lisa was pulling a little reverse psychology and hoping Amelia would lose interest once Scott received her mother's approval, it seems that the plan backfired in a major way.

In fact, it seems that Amelia has taken to reminding Lisa that she and husband Harry Hamlin share a 12-year age gap.

(It's worth noting that Lisa wasn't still in her teens when she met Harry, but that's a conversation for another time.)

"She grew up in the industry and knows how all this works," one insider says of Amelia's realism regarding the situation.

"It's a different type of maturity, and they really don't feel the age difference."

Of course, it's easy to say that you're totally okay with the possibility of being dumped -- it's quite another to maintain that attitiude if/when it actually happens.

That possibility is probably very far from Amelia's mind these days, as insiders say that she and Scott have taken their relartionsip to the next level in recent weeks.

In fact, it seems that they're spending every waking moment together.

Earlier this week, Scott and Amelia were spotted house hunting in Miami, and it sounds like the couple will be co-habiting in the very near future.

"They've been inseparable and have been going back and forth between Miami and L.A.," the insider tells People.

Yes, these two are much more than a fling, and we're guessing they'll continue to be an item for the foreseeable future.

We can understand why the people in Scott and Amelia's inner circle might have decided to give their approval instead of continuing to lock horns, but thankfully, we're still free to say this situation is gross AF.
