We probably don't need to tell you that rumors of Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston getting back together are nothing new.
Fans have been bullish on the idea of these two giving their marriage another shot ever since Pitt separated from Angelina Jolie back in 2016 (and some Brad-Jen shippers didn't even wait that long).
While we wouldn't go so far as to say those folks are finally getting their wish, they certainly have something to be excited about this morning.
The 2020 Screen Actors Guild Awards were held in Los Angeles on Sunday, and it was a big night for both Brad and Jen -- in more ways than one.
He took home the prize for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Supporting Role for his performance Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and she won Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series for her work in Apple TV's The Morning Show.
Of course, what Twitter was mostly interested was not the awards, but the scene backstage, where Pitt and Aniston were spotted enjoying a very friendly interaction.
We wouldn't go so far as to call their body language flirty -- though many fans used that exact word.
At one point, Pitt was spotted beaming at a monitor, as he watched Aniston's acceptance speech from backstage.
“Dreams do come true, honey. And all of you, your performances inspire me,” Jen told the crowd.
“For years, I feel like we have kind of grown up together. I know the few times I have been invited back into this room over the last 20-something years, it has been so special, the times that I have been invited. And to be up here is truly an honor.”
As for Brad, he was in a lighthearted, self-deprecating mood (it probably didn't hurt that his Kansas City Chiefs had just earned a trip to the Super Bowl).
“Let’s be honest. It was a difficult part. A guy who gets high, takes his shirt off and doesn’t get on with his wife,” he joked before the ceremony.
In his acceptance speech, Pitt quipped that he plans to add "SAG Awards winner" to his “Tinder profile.”
“Thank you, my brothers, my sisters. This means so much,” he continued.
“More than I can possibly fathom. I want you to know I watch everything. I watch you all, and the work has been mesmerizing. So I thank you. I want to thank my co-stars — Leo [DiCaprio], Margot Robbie, Margot Robbie’s feet … Seriously, Quentin [Tarantino] has separated more women from their shoes than the T.S.A.”
Neither Brad nor Jen mentioned the other in their acceptance speech, but from the reaction on social media, you would've thought he proposed marriage, and she accepted.
The former couple married in 2000, but separated in 2005, when he fell for Jolie while shooting the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith.
This awards season has brought Brad and Jen together on multiple occasions, but unfortunately for fans, at this point, their reunions have all been purely platonic.
