Chelsea Handler has spoken out about the loss of a great friend.
As previously reported, Chuy Bravo -- the actor and television personality who appeared over 1,000 episodes of Chelsea Lately as the host's sidekick -- died suddenly on Sunday.
He was 63.
Bravo had been hospitalized a day prior while visiting family members in Mexico, with multiple outlets stating that he was suffering from some kind of serious stomach pain.
His cause of death is unknown at this time.
“Bravo’s family is devastated as they cope with his sudden loss," wrote Chuy's rep in a statement, adding:
"They are overwhelmed with the thoughts and prayers they have received and send their appreciation."
The entertainer starred on Chelsea Lately from 2007 through the end of the talk show's run in 2014 -- and he and Handler formed a friendship that went beyond their work on set.
Just a week or so before his death, Handler sent Chuy birthday wishes via social media.
And then late last night, shortly after news of his passing, she shared a tribute to Bravo, recalling his laughter and how much she valued their friendship.
The 44-year old included with this tribute a montage of photos of the two together.
“I loved this nugget in a big way, and I took great pleasure in how many people loved him as much as I did and do," Handler wrote as a caption, continuing as follows:
"@chuybravo gave us so much laughter and I’ll never forget the sound of his laughter coming from his office into mine,” Handler wrote alongside a collage of photos of the pair.
She then concluded her tribute in this emotional manner...
Or his ‘business calls’ with his ‘business manager,’ or his shoe rack with all his children-sized shoes.
I’ll never forget him coming to Christmas with my family one year in the Florida keys, and when my niece who was 5 or 6 at the time—saw him, she ran in the other direction saying she was scared.
My sister and I were mortified and were apologizing to Chuy, who told us, ‘it’s ok, lots of little kids get scared when they see big kids coming their way.’
I love you, Chuy!
Chuy was born in Mexico and immigrated to the United States at age 15.
He had roles in such films as The Rundown, Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, The Honeymooners, The Sex Trip" and Tiptoes, among others.
However, he'll also be best remembered for his contribution to Chelsea Lately.
In the wake of his death, others associated with this program also shared their reactioons and condolences online.
"I just heard minutes ago about our Chuy," writer and show writer Heather McDonald wrote, adding:
"I don't have many details but we are finding now Please keep his family in your prayers and remember all the laughs and joy he brought to so many of us."
Fortune Feimster, a comedian, also offered her condolences, sharing a picture of her posing with Handler's close pal and writing:

Then there was Chris Franjola, who shared an emotional post about his former co-star:

"Faced with many adversities in life, Chuy never seemed to let any of it break his spirit."
Concluded this comedian:
"We traveled the world together and I'll miss carrying his scooter.
My prayers go out to his family and friends and I hope they find solace in knowing the joy this little guy brought to a lot of people.
