Recently, Matt Roloff sold part of the farm, igniting division within his family.
Jeremy and Audrey accepted years ago that Matt would never hand over the farm to them.
They made their own plans, buying their very own family farm. But their new life means saying goodbye to their old one.
Now, Auj and Jer have formally sold their home in Portland, Oregon.
In Touch Weekly reports that Jeremy and Audrey Roloff have sold their former home.
The sale went down on Friday, July 22 (Selena Gomez’s birthday is an auspicious date!).
While the house itself was large, the sale price was even larger.
Audrey and Jeremy resided in a 2,118 square foot property on a private cul de sac.
The house includes four sizable bedrooms along with three bathrooms.
The sale price? No less than $730,000.
That sale of nearly a quarter of a million dollars is certainly impressive.
Of course, they likely counted on selling the house when they acquired their own farm.
Recently, Audrey and Jeremy opened up about their new land and the dream that it represents.
“After a two-year search spanning all over the state of Oregon … IT. IS. TIME,” Audrey declared back in June.
“We bought a farm!” she announced.
Audrey then pointed out: “And look what’s in our backyard Yup, that’s our trestle.”
“If you read our book (or even just looked at the cover lol) you know the significance that this train trestle has played,” she wrote.
Audrey explained that the trestle has been a fixture “in our love story and lives.”
She detailed that “It’s where Jer asked me to be his girlfriend, it’s where he asked me to marry him.”
Audrey of course plugged: “It’s where we took the photo for the cover of our New York Times best-selling book.”
“And,” she added, “it’s within walking distance of my parent’s property.”
That certainly sounds like the total package. Well, if you like farm life, and are okay with all of the labor involved.
Farm life entails a tremendous amount of work.
In Audrey and Jeremy’s case, it sounds like they have a lot of extra work to do — setting up the land so that the “real” farm work can begin.
This sort of lifestyle certainly isn’t for everyone, but it is clearly a passion of theirs.
As we know, Audrey and Jeremy felt that Matt’s sale of part of Roloff Farms was a missed opportunity.
Like other members of the family, Jeremy had spent years believing that he would one day get the chance to buy the farm.
Whether in whole or in part, he believed that Matt wanted his children to take over the farm in one form or another.
Audrey shared that dream with Jeremy. The two made no secret of it.
Like Zach and Tori, they were less than thrilled when Matt put 16 acres of the farmland on the market in May.
It wasn’t just that he didn’t offer them a sweetheart family discount. It’s that he was open to a stranger buying the parcel.
But Audrey and Jeremy found a new dream for themselves.
They will raise their children on their very own farm, apart from the Roloff family legacy.
Of course, only time will tell if their kids will grow up to be happy that their parents decided upon this life. It’s not for everyone.
