All good things must come to an end.
On an unrelated note, Teen Mom 2 may come to an end in the very near future.
We're just kidding (mostly), but we are serious that Kailyn Lowry has hinted for the first time that this beloved franchise may be on its final legs.
The veteran MTV personality took fans by surprise a few days ago when she announced she was set to host a second podcast, this one with Vee Torres, the wife of Kailyn's first baby daddy, Jo Rivera.
"SURPRISE! Vee and I are teaming up for a new podcast, @babymamasnodramapodcast launching 9/29!" Lowry wrote last week, adding:
"Click the link in my bio, search us on the purple podcast app or Spotify + make sure to subscribe, rate and review our podcast channel to be notified of new episodes."
It's worth noting that Lowry's new podcast debuts on the same day as a new Teen Mom 2 episode.
Interesting, huh?
But meaningful in any way?
Perhaps.
Perhaps Kailyn is looking for a new way to make headlines on Tuesday nights because this show won't be airing in that timeslot forever.
Two days ago, Lowry was asked by a follower:
"Girl, how do you have time for another podcast between four kids and Coffee Convos podcast - I'd be losing out of energy."
This is a reference, of course, to the podcast Lowry has been hosting for years with Lindsie Chrisley.
In response, Lowry cited a constant need for money because she has a quartet of young kids, while also acknowledging that Teen Mom 2 has an expiration date.
"Lmao I have four babies to provide for and the TV show could go away at any point. I'll do whatever it takes," Kailyn replied.
Ratings for Teen Mom 2 have been decreasing for years, but that's normal for any show that's been on the air for a decade.
It's very cheap to produce and we haven't heard any rumblings that MTV has any plans on pulling the plug any time soon.
But it's smart for Kailyn to prepare, right?
Lowry and Torres, meanwhile, have come quite a long way.
They've both been to bed with Jo Rivera and Kailyn has an 11-year old son with her ex.
After getting along for awhile, the former lovers have been at odds on recent installments of Teen Mom 2 over their shared custody of young Isaac.
Earlier this month, for example, Kailyn complained on air about the grief she was getting from Jo after leaving Isaac with a babysitter because she had to attend a funeral.
Kailyn and Jo also had to have an awkward conversation about Isaac not wanting to spend much time with his father.
Will Vee and Kailyn discuss these topics on their podcast? We'd have to imagine so.
It ought to be a fascinating listen.
And maybe it can even teach folks a lesson about forgiving, forgetting and not holding a grudge.
