When Kailyn Lowry welcomed her fourth child earlier this month, the news received something of a mixed reaction from Teen Mom 2 fans.
Yes, the arrival of a new child is always a joyous occasion.
But in Kail's case, the joy was tempered a bit by knowledge of the child's father.
Chris Lopez is already a deadbeat dad to Kail's third child, and fans are concerned that he's only gotten worse in recent years.
In fact, shortly before she got pregnant with Creed, Lowry filed for a restraining order against Lopez.
Needless to say, these two didn't keep their distance for very long.
Anyway, fans of Kail's have been openly hoping that she'll shock the world with a surprise announcement and reveal that Chris is not really Creed's father.
We can understand why they would want that to be the case, but their comments on the subject have veered into seriously offensive territory.
“Why does the new baby look like Isaac rather than his real brother. LOL. Am I missing something?” one commenter on Kail's Instagram page recently asked.
“I mean, Creed looks nothing like [your] last kid, and don’t they have the same dad? I’m confused.”
Clearly, not a fan of strangers commenting critically about her children's appearance, Kail was quick to clap back:
“It’s 2020, [and] we are still confused about how genetics work?!? [I’m] confused," Lowry replied.
"Please stop messaging and comment about my son’s [skin] color," she added.
"Yes, Chris is his dad. But I’m white, so there was a possibility that our child could be white. Imagine that.”
Needless to say, this is not the type of conversation that Kail should be forced to have just weeks after welcoming her fourth child.
We're guessing she won't be responding to such haters at all going forward, which is obviously the right move.
But as a sort of final word on the subject, she posted the photo below, seemingly as proof that Creed looks quite a lot like Lux, Kail's other child with Chris:
We certainly see her point.
Although, it's worth pointing out that most newborn babies look alike.
Still, even if Kail's youngest two sons looked completely different, that would hardly be proof that one of them has a different father.
After all, it's not as though all siblings are identical, and the speculation that Chris is not really Creed's father is rather offensive.
For starters, it implies that Kail cheated on Chris and has spent most of the past year lying to the public about it.
It also suggests that all mixed-race children must present traits from both parents in the exact same way, which is also wildly offensive.
So whether you're convinced by Kail's latest post or now, maybe just keep your thoughts to yourself on this one, mmm-kay?
