The title might officially belong to his friend and frequent co-star Dwayne Johnson, but last night, Kevin Hart was the People's Champ.
Back in September, Hart was involved in a car accident that very nearly claimed his life.
The beloved comic was badly injured in the wreck, and his recovery is ongoing.
But thankfully Hart is still alive, still mobile, and still in possession of his world-famous wit.
Hart has spoken about his injuries on several occasions since the crash, revealing that were it not for a talented team of medical professsionals, he might have been left unable to walk.
But for all his candor and the many updates he's offered fans via social media, Hart eschewed the spotlight for much of the past two months in order to focus on his recovery.
It was only last night, at the 2019 People's Choice Awards, that Hart made his triumphant return to the public eye.
The 40-year-old took the stage to accept the prize for Favorite Comedy Act and was greeted with a standing ovation from the A-list crowd.
"First and foremost, I thank God, because I definitely don't have to be here," Hart said in an uncharacteristically somber mood.
"Being that I am, that makes me appreciate life even more," he added.
"It makes me appreciate the things that really matter. Family," the comic continued.
"I want to thank my wife, my kids. They really stepped up to the plate for me."
Hart concluded by expressing gratitude to the many fans who have wished him well and offered words of encouragement throughout his recovery process.
"You have no idea the effect that you have on us as entertainers. Your energy, your support, it means the world and I want to thank you guys for being there for me in my difficult time," Hart shared.
"This is special," he told the crowd.
On September 1, Hart was sitting in the passenger seat of his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda when the vehicle was involved in a one-car accident near Calabasas, California.
Hart fractured his spine in three places and was forced to undergo major surgery.
