Kody Brown: Just How Desperate for Cash is He?!?

About a month ago, Kody Brown and Meri Brown shocked all Sister Wives fans.

Amid rumors of serious marital strife, amid a quarantine and amid chatter that the spiritual spouses never had anything to do with each other...

... Kody simply strolled in to Meri's home while she hosting a Facebook video a on behalf of LuLaRoe, a company that specializes in women's attire.

This unexpected cameo took Sister Wives fans aback and prompted them to wonder whether Kody and Meri were actually getting along perfectly fine these days.

Meri, for her part, didn't seem surprised to see Kody in her house at all and the two carried on a perfectly normal conversation.

Kind of, that is.

The tone was normal, but the topics Kody and Meri discussed were anything but -- and now they have us wondering whether we're focusing on the wrong thing here.

Kody and Meri Brown: Sister Wives

Could Meri and Kody be on good terms and we've been wildly overblowing their alleged feud? Yes.

But could Kody be in severe financial trouble and this video only served to highlight that fact and we should really be digging into what's going on in this area? Yes.

During Kody's appearance on Meri's livestream, he seemed very stressed out about some documents, needing Meri's signature on these forms before he rushed them over... to wherever they needed to go.

This lends credence to the theory that Meri is bankrolling her family these days, along with the theory that Kody is really desperate for cash.

The latter isn't really a theory, to be honest.

Kody purchased a large lot of land in Flagstaff, Arizona years ago and has not yet started building on it.

As a result, all four Sister Wives -- Meri, Robyn, Janelle and Christine -- are living in their own houses, three of which are rented and one of which is owned by Kody.

This means Kody is paying for multiple mortgages, along with multiple property tax bills and, as far as we know, the only income he earns comes from Sister Wives.

Which may not be renewed for another season.

This spring, The Sun reported that Kody and Robyn applied for a home equity line of credit in the amount of $150,000 on March 20, 2020.

In the couple's legal document, this twosome emphasized an urgency to the deal, as the court papers read: “Time is of the essence in the performance of this Deed of Trust."

The money was even of such necessity that the couple agreed in the official county documents to "waive" their rights to Arizona’s Homestead Exemption.

Doesn't sound like someone who is comfortable with his financial situation, does it?

It's also worth noting, of course, that Kody is paying for all these homes and unsure about his professional future during a time of economic unrest.

Due to the spread of COVID-19 and the subequent shelter-at-home orders that are only just now being lifted after about three months, The National Bureau of Economic Research said Monday that the U.S. economy is officially in a recession.

There are folks out there in far worse financial shape than Kody Brown.

But it's our job to report on celebrities and reality stars, and Kody appears to be one who is significantly struggling right now.

Kody Can't Handle This

Elsewhere in this unexpected Facebook video, Kody complained about his ongoing insomnia.

The Sister Wives stars then even discussed the possibility of taking CBD for stress, which would also hint at Kody's monetary problems and how they've been resulting in high levels of anxiety.

Kody actually seemed open to the idea, referring to it as an “herbal supplement" and causing our jaws to drop.

Might Kody be both desperate for cash and considering a turn to drugs to deal with this desperation?!?

Stay tuned, everyone.
