For a while there, it looked like Leah Messer and Jeremy Calvert would get back together.
The two of them made little effort to conceal their hookups while filming a Teen Mom 2 reunion special in New York, and it seemed that they both wanted something more than a "friends with benefits" situation.
But then, Leah suddenly slammed on the brakes.
These days, she and Jeremy seem to be keeping their distance from one another.
And this week's episode of Teen Mom 2 provided us with some intriguing clues as to why that is.

There was a time when it looked as though Leah Messer and Jeremy Calvert were preparing for another trip down the aisle. But then they abruptly decided to go their separate ways.

Messer and Calvert were so serious just a few months ago that she invited him to join her in Hawaii.

Jeremy was unable to make the trip due to work obligations, but he invited Leah out to dinner when she got back to West Virginia.

Leah was understandably bummed when Jeremy was forced to cancel their dinner date due to an emergency involving his grandfather. But we didn't know just how bummed until this week.
