Matt Lauer "Pursued" Pippa Middleton During Her Time on the Today Show [Report]

Back in November of 2017, Matt Lauer was fired by NBC for sexual misconduct.

The initial charges against the formerly beloved TV personality were appalling -- and despite his nearly two-year exile from the public eye,  new allegations dating back to Lauer's time on the Today show continue to surface with alarming regularity.

Just last week, a former Today staffer named Brooke Nevelis accused Lauer of raping her while the two were in Sochi for NBC's coverage of the Winter Olympics in 2014.

The allegation has led to an avalanche of damaging new information about Lauer's time on Today, with former colleagues such as Ann Curry allegedly preparing to level new allegations against the disgraced 61-year-old.

Many eagerly await Curry's report, which is said to contain accounts from numerous women who were victimized by Lauer.

In the meantime, The New York Post has dropped a bombshell revelation regarding Lauer's allegedly inappropriate interactions with one of the UK's most famous residents.

Pippa at the Royal Wedding

Back in 2014, Pippa Middleton was hired by the Today show as an on-air correspondent.

The gig didn't last long, and now, it seems that Pippa's short-lived tenure may have been the result of unwanted advances from Lauer.

“Pippa wasn’t comfortable with any of it," a source close to the situation tells Page Six.

"Buckingham Palace was putting her under tremendous pressure not to go forward or cause any embarrassment to her sister."

Pippa Smiles Broadly

It seems that Pippa was uncertain of whether or not to make her collaboration with NBC a full-time job, and her decision to end the partnership was largely a result of Lauer's behavior.

"Matt and Pippa were never alone, and she wasn’t really interested in the job, but nevertheless NBC staffers were nervous about Matt’s interest in Pippa,” the insider claims.

Yes, by this time, Lauer's misconduct was such common knowledge that NBC staffers were cautious about keeping his misdeeds under wraps.

On Wednesday night, former NBC employee Megyn Kelly appeared on Fox News and demanded an independent investigation into the network's HR practices.

Matt Lauer, Pre-Scandal

Kelly does not claim to have been subject to any unwanted advances during her time at NBC, but as she pointed out Fox News, the NFL, and other organizations that have faced similar allegations submitted to outside investigations.

Sadly, this is probably not the last we've heard of Lauer's abhorrent behavior during his time at NBC.

And the network might do well to shine a light on his past wrongdoing before additional accusers come forward.
