Mike Sorrentino, Wife Confirm "Heart-Wrenching" Miscarriage

Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and his lovely wife, Lauren, recently celebrated their one-year weddning anniversary.

Sadly, however, we just learned that the Jersey Shore couple also recently suffered one of life's worst nightmares.

The couple lost a baby after seven weeks of pregnancy, and it came at a time in which their lives had already been in a state of upheaval.

"The night he came home [from prison] we actually conceived,” Lauren said this morning during an appearance on Strahan, Sara & Keke.

She added in this admission:

Mike Sorrentino & Wife Lauren: One Year Anniversary!

“And then at about six and half, seven weeks, I miscarried."

"It was heart-wrenching. When I found out we were pregnant, I felt like this is why we went through all these challenges for years and that this was our time and it was our blessing."

"It was hard. It was really difficult."

Wow. We can't imagine.

Mike Sorrentino and Wife

The Situation, an OG Jersey Shore cast member, spent most of the past year in prison after pleading guilty to tax evasion charges.

He married Lauren just a few weeks before becoming an inmate, with his wife sticking by Sorrentino throughout his imprisonment.

Lauren often kept fans apprised of his status during this tough time. The couple has been through a whole lot, that much is certain.

The Honeymoon Situation

As for why Lauren decided to go public with this terrible development?

“I didn’t want to hold this in," she said in this same ABC interview.

"I wanted to share it for other people going through it," added Lauren, "and just be honest so I can kind of heal through the process.”

The Situation Wedding

Not long after Lauren talked openly about what happened, Jersey Shore fans jumped online to offer their condolences.

Jersey Shore fans... and also Jersey Shore stars, that is.

“Sending you so much love and prayers! You are not alone,” wrote one social media user, expressing heartfelt thoughts.

Situation in Jail

Snooki also commented on what we found out, writing:

“Love you, mawma! You did so good."

"So proud of you and your strength."

Mike, for his part, hadn't been shy in the past about wanting to start a family with his college sweetheart-turned-wife.

The Sitch and Lauren

“We’ve been working on it the past week, so we’ll see,” the MTV star told celeb news magazine Us Weekly in September.

That's right, almost as soon as he was a free man, he was back to his old self again, talking about smushing his wife.

Classic Sitch. “We would love a boy first. We’re excited for little Situations!" added Mike just a short while back.

The Situation and Mrs. Situation

Lauren also broke her silence to this celebrity gossip tabloid at the time, echoing her husband's strong sentiments:

"We like chaos and a busy, loud home. I think we would definitely want at least three, but we have none right now, so ...

"That’s pretty ambitious."

The Hollywood Gossip hopes Lauren and Mike are doing okay right now in the midst of everything going on.

We send them our best wishes.
