Ricky Martin Wins in Court; Nephew Withdraws Claims of Stalking, Incest

Last week, wild and upsetting claims of Ricky Martin committing incest and abuse rocked the internet.

His nephew had taken out a restraining order, alleging that a 7-month relationship ended in stalking.

Martin’s legal team fired back that there was no truth to any of it, adding that the nephew was unwell.

The singer vowed to testify against his nephew … and has now scored a legal victory.

Early Thursday morning, Ricky Martin appeared in court in Puerto Rico via video chat.

His plan was to directly address the judge while denying his 21-year-old nephew’s claims.

Martin did not only deny the stalking allegations, but the entire story about a 7-month affair.

Late last week, none of us could look away from the nauseating reports.

Martin’s nephew had filed a restraining order against him, alleging a relationship followed by stalking and harassment.

At the time, Martin and his attorney did not have the opportunity to refute the ex-parte allegations.

One of the most sensational topics (aside from the incest claims) was a potential prison sentence of 50 years.

Puerto Rico has laws that enhance sentencing dramatically for certain crimes involving incest.

However, no one has filed any such charges against Martin, just the civil restraining order.

And, as the days passed, it became increasingly apparent that charges against Martin might never materialize.

It’s not just that Martin’s attorney claimed that the nephew struggles with his mental health.

Martin’s brother also emphatically echoed that claim, suggesting that the nephew’s claims have no merit.

And it looks like the court agrees with that assessment. Martin just won his case in court.

TMZ reports that the judge has now dismissed the temporary restraining order.

A major factor in the court’s decision was that Martin’s nephew withdrew his claim.

The singer adopted twins Valentino and Matteo in August of 2008.

“Just as we had anticipated, the temporary protection order was not extended by the court,” his legal team noted.

“The accuser confirmed to the court that his decision to dismiss the matter was his alone,” Team Ricky Martin shared.

Apparently, the nephew made this dismissal “without any outside influence or pressure.”

“And the accuser confirmed he was satisfied with his legal representation in the matter,” Martin’s team continued.

“The request came from the accuser asking to dismiss the case,” the attorney then stated.

“This was never anything more than a troubled individual making false allegations,” Team Martin added.

Ricky Martin’s attorney then said that these allegations came out “with absolutely nothing to substantiate them.”

His team affirmed: “We are glad that our client saw justice done and can now move forward with his life and his career.”

We hope that everyone is actually as satisfied with this as they claim.
