Even though Mike Berk and Ximena Cuellar are over, it looks like the split was very recent.

They spent nearly a year engaged, following Mike seeking not only her approval, but that of her family.

Ximena is now claiming that her children never actually liked Mike, despite their on-camera statements.

Did production goad them to lie … or is Ximena just saying hurtful things because it’s over?

Even before Mike Berk took a flight to Colombia to meet Ximena Cuellar for the first time, he wanted to make a good impression.

He had been video chatting with (and spending a lot of money on) Ximena for a long time.

But for her kids, he wanted to come bearing gifts, so he stopped by a toy store to prepare for his journey.

Yeah, things were a little awkward at first when Mike tried to make a first impression.

Little by little, he worked to win over her family.

That included her dad, her sister, and her two young sons.

Mike knew that marrying Ximena, as he hoped, would also mean taking on a parenting role with her sons.

He became part of the family routine during his stay, except for his steamy vacation with Ximena.

And when it came time to propose, he was sure to include her sons in his speech.

Mike affirmed his love for Ximena’s sons as well as for her during his proposal.

Given the possibility that Ximena cannot have more children, this had an added layer of meaning.

And Mike had spoken to Ximena’s sons before popping the question, to see how they felt about a possible future with him in the picture.

To hear Ximena’s kids tell it (as Juan David is here), they were big fans of Mike.

They even encouraged him to return to Colombia for their mother and for them.

But according to one of Ximena’s latest claims, neither Juan David nor Harold Steven ever cared for Mike.

Amidst ditching her “Mike” tattoo and revealing her new man, Ximena also claimed that the affection for Mike was staged.

“My children don’t love Mike,” she claimed on social media, communicating in Spanish.

“It was a recording;” Ximena continued, accusing that “they asked them to say yes they love him.”

It is fairly normal for producers to prompt cast members to answer or even rephrase their answers to questions. That’s how reality TV works.

That’s not fakery — it’s how you get cohesive statements that viewers can follow and understand.

What Ximena seems to be alleging is that production asked her sons to give a fake answer, even if it was a little white lie.

There have been incidents of 90 Day Fiance fakery in the past, where production pushed just a little too hard to get the moment that they wanted.

These moments usually backfire, either because audiences could tell that something was off or because the truth leaks.

There’s a difference between rephrasing or re-recording a line and producers spoon-feeding a line to someone to stir the pot.

Usually, production does this to cause drama and make people look worse, not to make a family bond seem more authentic.

To be honest, the show could have gotten quite a reaction if Juan David had stepped away from a cute chat with Mike to say “I don’t really like the Tomato Guy.”

Even so, production could conveivably nudge things in one direction or another if they think that it will fit the storyline.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to trust or believe anything that Ximena says right now.

She has given multiple, conflicting statements over the past few weeks, either because she cannot keep her story straight or because she wants to make people guess what’s true.

Also, she just seems pissed off at Mike, albeit without explaining why, and could be lashing out angrily to hurt his feelings.

We saw real cruelty on 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days when Ximena told Mike that she doesn’t love him.

She called him “weird.” She didn’t want to be around him. 

Evidence suggests that Mike and Ximena split up after this, got back together, and have very recently split again. There are even rumors of a new man.

Ximena has sown confusion, however, posting so many conflicting stories that it’s hard to keep track of them all.

A couple of weeks ago, Ximena Cuellar, also known as Ximena Morales, posted a video to TikTok.

The video featured a man who was decidedly not Mike, combined with a love song and a bunch of heart emojis.

Ximena then deleted the video, but obviously, it was immediately all over the 90 Day Fiance side of social media.

Despite having been on a call with the guy, Ximena claimed that the video wasn’t hers.

She also claimed that her phone had been stolen when someone posted this (even though it’s the exact kind of video she has posted about Mike).

Ximena called it a “false video” in one breath. With another, she said that it was simply old, even though it was dated February 8.

It’s hard to keep track of all of that.

Shoutout to 90shotzfired on Instagram for keeping it in list form.

We apologize for the light mode in the screenshot, but it was worth seeing it all laid out like that.

What’s more is that Ximena is rumored to have a new man, possibly the guy from the leaked video, though it’s sometimes hard to tell what’s real and what isn’t.

There have also been DMs leaked, allegedly from Ximena, claiming that her kids didn’t like Mike, but only praised him for the show’s benefit.

That would be incredibly screwed up, if true. If it’s false, it’s incredibly screwed up to say. There’s nothing good about any of this.

On Season 5, Episode 11, we all saw Ximena rolling her eyes and generally giving Mike the cold shoulder.

It went much further than telling him that she wouldn’t marry him until he paid for her to get breast augmentation surgery.

Ximena straight-up told him that she didn’t want to sleep with him, that he was “weird” and clingy, and that she wasn’t in love with him.

This must have been heartbreaking for Mike, who had to be wondering what had changed.

After all, his last visit to Colombia had been filled with affection.

This time, she didn’t even pick him up from the airport, and that was before she told him the ugly truth.

We all know what is coming, thanks to the previews.

Mike and Ximena will have a final conversation (he’d have been wiser to leave Colombia that night) that leaves Mike devasted.

He runs off into the night, channeling his inner Paul Staehle and declaring that he’s “done.” But was he?

Grimly, that was clearly not the end of their story.

Somehow, it looks like things turned around for these two last year … despite all common sense.

Ximena’s old TikToks are rife with spoilers, including what strongly resembled a long-distance (renewed?) proposal.

Ximena seems to be hooked on TikTok.

While we wouldn’t recommend it to anyone (it’s a bad app, sorry-not-sorry), that is at least age-appropriate for a 24-year-old.

It is also a virtual treasure trove of information about her life.

For one thing, it appears that Ximena did get the surgeries that she wanted, probably late last spring — just under a year ago.

Maybe Mike paid for them, but Ximena has claimed that he did not … for whatever that’s worth, giving her track record.

(One hopes that this does not mean that she went back to that loan shark to fund it)

Ximena’s new tattoo completely covers and obscures this one, effectively purging it from her skin.

What’s more is that her decision to post her new tattoo is a clear sign that she wants everyone to know, NDA or no NDA.

And earlier this month, Ximena posted and deleted an over-the-top video of a man who was decidedly not Mike.

The video included a cascade of heart emojis and the same Spanish love song that she played on a similar video about Mike. Points for recycling?

No one seems to know who this mystery man is, but it looked like Ximena accidentally revealed either her new man … or, worse, a secret man.

Mike and Ximena are no longer even following each other on Instagram.

Mike’s name is gone from her bio, and some speculate that this wasn’t a mutual unfollowing — but that Mike may have blocked her.

However, they probably both got an earful from producers about their NDAs, so there are a ton of throwback pics on their Instagram accounts.

It has been speculated that Ximena is deliberately putting out contradictory stories so that no one can guess the truth.

But, like, we can guess enough of it.

We don’t know if she’s moved on or not, despite her TikTok video of that new man, but she and Mike are clearly over. Hopefully, for good.

In this sneak peek for Sunday’s 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days, Ximena is wedding dress shopping.

She gives Mike an ultimatum: he pays for her breast augmentation, then they go through with the wedding.

In this sneak peek clip of Season 5, Episode 10, Ximena and Mike are shopping together.

Well, “together” is a strong word.

Ximena is trying on wedding dresses. Per tradition, Mike cannot even gaze upon her during the process.

Ximena loves it — the dress, the veil, all of it.

She repeats multiple times that she feels like a “princess.”

Though we know that these two do not get their happily ever after, it’s a sweet moment.

But Ximena cannot help but note to the cameras that she can’t fully enjoy this yet.

The truth is that she is not entirely happy with Mike at the moment.

To her credit, she does sit down to speak with him about that instead of simply letting it fester in silence.

Mike asks her how she is feeling.

Ximena starts with the positive, honestly expressing how she felt wearing the wedding dress.

Again, she says that she felt like a princess, adding that she felt divine. It’s very sweet.

But … why is Mike willing to pay for her to get a dress if he hasn’t coughed up the dough for something else that she wants?

Ximena wants a breast augmentation.

She had already tried to line one up (with funds from a loan shark) before Mike’s arrival in Colombia caused her to cancel.

In part due to the language barrier (honestly … any couple can have communication issues, but they both need to work on this), Mike is confused.

The automated translator does a decent job … sort of … of conveying what she said.

Even once Mike understands what she is saying, he doesn’t quite get the why.

Why, he wonders, does Ximena want larger breasts?

She tells him that she might be able to find work as a model.

(Real talk, a lot of 90 Day Fiance alums do modeling work, and some can be very successful)

Mike doesn’t seem to grasp her exact motives … or is perhaps uneasy discussing this on camera.

He offers her what he hopes are reassurances that she, and her breasts, are perfect as is.

If Ximena is doing this to make him happy, she doesn’t need to. (Oh, Mike)

There is something of a generational divide, even though they are only ten years apart. They have different beauty standards.

Mike is 34, and grew up in the ’90s and early aughts, when small breasts were part of the mainstream beauty standard.

Ximena was born in the late ’90s and grew up in the ’00s and twenty-teens, an era of ever-growing butts and busts.

Plus, taste is always a factor. People in any era of fashion can simply have their own preferences, through nature or nurture.

Ximena explains that she’s not doing this for Mike.

She is doing this for herself.

Ximena even has a specific timeline in mind.

She would like to go in for surgery to get breast implants the day after Mike returns to New York.

Some want to be around loved ones while they recover, but presumably Ximena will be looked after by family.

Ximena has been relying largely upon Mike for financial support.

This is not speculation — her own family said as much when they noted that, if she and Mike split, she’ll have to get a job.

She noted to the camera that perhaps a breast augmentation could help her to land a career modeling and bring in money.

After laying out her argument, Ximena hopes for a positive response.

We are reminded of a teenager who has come up with a compelling argument for why their parent should let them do something.

That’s a fine dynamic for a sugar baby and a client, but a little odd to see between partners who are planning to marry.

Ximena asks bluntly if Mike will “pay for my boobies” now that she has listed the reasons for which she wants it.

The best that Mike can offer is a “maybe.”

Honestly? It feels like code for can we please discuss this off camera.

This is when Ximena proposes her ultimatum — at least, that’s what it sounds like.

First, Mike can pay for her breast augmentation.

Then, and only then, can he buy her the dress.

The implication is clear, because they’re not going to have a wedding without a wedding dress.

In this moment, we are reminded of 90 Day Fiance legend Larissa Lima, who once asked on-again, off-again boyfriend Eric Nichols to pay for her breast augmentation.

However, this was fakery concocted by producers to give her and Eric a conversation and to prompt a (negative) reaction from viewers.

But … unlike Larissa, who is one of the richest 90 Day Fiance stars of all time, Ximena’s question seems much more authentic.

The writing hasn’t just been on the wall. It’s also been on Ximena’s wrist. Or expunged from it, sort of.

However, Ximena is extremely active on social media (even for a 24-year-old), and has shared a lot of things.

At one point, she shared what appeared to be evidence of a renewed engagement between her and Mike, this time over video chat.

It is believed that they got back together, possibly after their season wrapped filming, but that was not the end of it.

This week, Ximena took to Instagram to flaunt her “new” tattoo.

It is certainly very colorful, and covers her write wrist and part of her forearm.

But it is not the first ink that she has had on this part of her arm.

As seen in this screenshot, preserved by 90 Day Fiance blogger John Yates, Ximena had a tattoo there already.

“Mike,” it read, in flowing cursive letters. (Wow, that’s the first time that I needed to read cursive in over a decade)

This means that Ximena’s new tattoo is covering the old one, erasing it … and posting it means that she wants everyone to know.

Earlier this month, Ximena appeared to accidentally post and delete a lovey-dovey video montage of a man who is not Mike.

The man, presumed to be American, appeared in multiple snapshots while heart emojis and music (the same lovey music she played for Mike) danced on the screen.

It’s not clear who he is, but it seemed fairly self-evident who he is to Ximena.

Ximena quickly and loudly denied that he was her new man.

She claimed at one point that the video was “old,” an odd thing to insist when one photo was date stamped February 8.

Ximena would make a claim, then delete it, then make another claim, then delete that. It was messy.

Meanwhile, there was no sign of Mike continuing to follow her.

We don’t know if they mutually unfollowed her or if one of them blocked the other on Instagram.

Either way … Mike very clearly knows what’s up.

Mike made a juicy post of his own, featuring a deeply cursed Minions meme, about the drama that had gone down.

He couldn’t comment directly — that would violate his NDA (which Ximena may have done during all of this).

But he let us all know that he sees the chatter about his relationship.

Meanwhile, this week, aside from Ximena’s tattoo reveal (which is only significant if you knew about the “Mike” tat), they’ve been calmer.

In fact, both have been doing damage control, posting throwback photos of themselves together without any real comment.

(By the way, if Ximena is writing Mike’s Instagram handle but it’s not turning into a hyperlink … that probably means that he blocked her. Ouch)
