Additionally, Robert has yet to speak. Our hearts go out to the 90 Day Fiance Season 7 alums at this time.

90 Day Fiance Spoiler: Are Kara Bass and Guillermo Rojer Married?

Perhaps the least dramatic couple — so far — on the 90 Day Fiance Season 9 premiere was Kara and Guillermo.

They joke about an age gap, but they’re in their 20s. There are paperwork hurdles, but it’s likely that they’ll overcome them.

The promos for this season, however, have shown us that there will be more personal obstacles to overcome.

Will Kara and Guillermo make to the altar after 90 days?

In Touch Weekly reports that 29-year-old Kara Bas and 23-year-old Guillermo Rojer are indeed married.

Court records show that the two tied the knot on July 23, 2021 in Albemarle County, Virginia.

While most couples on the franchise’s flagship series marry (given the time and expense put into the relationships), there were other huge hints about these two.

Golara IG Kara Bass, Guillermo Rojer spoiler

Just after Kara and Guillermo made their on-screen debut, a friend of Kara’s posted on Instagram.

In the now-deleted post captured by Mommy Says Bad Words, the friend raved about the “journey of their engagement to wedding.”

If you don’t appear on the show or get paid by the show, you usually don’t have to sign an NDA — and sometimes, little slips like this happen.

Kara Bass is 29, from Charlottesville, loves balloons

Our introduction to Kara Bass on the premiere was entertaining.

She listed many of the jobs that she has held, adding that balloon constructs are a recent line of work — something that she took up early in the pandemic.

It was through a previous job that she spent a great deal of time in the Dominican Republic after laying eyes on Guillermo.

Guillermo Rojer was a hot waiter bringing tequila when she met him

A lot of people have had hot waiters and not made a move, but when Guillermo brought a tray of tequila to her table, Kara went for it.

She knew that he was younger — to be clear, he was already 21, a grown adult — but he was dazzlingly hot.

She gave him her number, they started hanging out, and this led to a lot of fun times in the DR.

Kara Bass and Guillermo Rojer fell for each other very quickly

Guillermo’s seaside proposal to Kara as beautiful and perfect, and she said “yes.” They even adopted a dog together.

Though she had to return to the United States due to the pandemic, she knew that she still wanted to be with him.

So, Kara filed for the K-1 visa, putting them both through a lengthy and grueling set of hurdles.

Guillermo Rojer calls to check on Kara and their dog

Guillermo keeps in touch with Kara and with their sweet little dog through video chats, but it’s not the same.

He has some reasonable anxieties about making it to the United States, even though he has his visa.

Kara also has some concerns, so viewers saw her fly down to meet him.

Kara Bass flies down to travel with him in case anything goes wrong

Guillermo is a total sweetheart, but don’t let his good nature and dazzling smile fool you: things have not always been easy.

Extreme poverty in Venezuela, where he is from, drove him to protest against the government.

When Guillermo witnessed fellow protesters being fired upon by police, he knew that he had to leave, so he went to work in the DR.

Guillermo Rojer - the police were everywhere, shooting

Guillermo’s brothers were already working in the Dominican Republic, and all of this led to him meeting Kara.

However, his passport is now expired, with no realistic options for him to get it renewed.

The United States allows expired Venezuelan passports with a visa … on paper … but both he and Kara know that he could be delayed or hassled.

Kara Bass and Guillermo Rojer reunited in the DR

The hope is that the presence of Kara (and a camera crew) might discourage any security agents from violating laws or wasting Guillermo’s time more than they have to.

At the very least, if there are delays, Kara will be there with him.

We haven’t seen them make their flight back, but we’re really rooting for these two so far. Let’s hope that nothing that we see this season changes that.

The Biggest 90 Day Fiance Season 9 Red Flags So Far And What the Couples Have to Say

On Sunday, Season 9 of 90 Day Fiance premiered, introducing viewers to several new couples.

Bilal and Shaeeda, Emily and Kobe, Jibri and Miona, and Kara and Guillermo each have their obstacles, drama potential, and storylines.

Viewers are already seeing a bounty of red flags, and the season has barely begun.

What exactly do the Season 9 stars have to say for themselves?

First, here is what the cast wants people to know — as several stars spoke to Shadow And Act.

“People think the K1 visa process is just some paperwork and an interview,” Emily pointed out.

“Unfortunately, that’s not how it is,” she noted. “It’s such a long and anxious process.”

Emily is 29 and from Salina, Kansas

“It can take months just to receive anything back,” Emily explained.

“During our visa process, Covid hit, and it took us 2 years,” she recalled. “It’s not an easy process.”

Shaeeda chimed in: “The K1 process is long and can become overbearing and intolerable.”

Shaeeda Sween - I'm just busy packing some stuff

Shaeeda added: “You need to show receipts of your relationship, hence why you need to be 100 committed.”

On top of the K-1 visa, the cast shared, there are also major pitfalls to 90 Day Fiance fame.

“Putting your life and your family in the limelight has its positives but definitely negatives too,” Bilal commented.

Bilal Hazziez is a successful real estate broker

“I felt like it was a good opportunity to not just tell my story but the story of many people who look like me,” Bilal explained.

He noted that he and Shaeeda are “two Black people coming together from the African Diaspora who are Muslims.”

This, Bilal commented, is “something that has never been seen on 90 Day Fiancé history.”

Bilal Hazziez reveals that he has hidden his wealth

Bilal expressed: “I’m both excited and nervous about what’s to come, including the opinions of others.”

Emily emphasized: “We hope people really understand we are real genuine people who truly love each other.”

Bilal agreed: “Love and trust can come from somewhere you never intended for it to come from.”

Bilal Hazziez confessional (Season 9 preview)

“Who is to say that the person who you are meant to be with has to live in the same city or same state or even the same country as you?” Bilal asked.

“The person you meant to be with just might live in another country,” he suggested.

“And,” Bilal continued, “some magnetic force may pull you both together.”

Shaeeda Sween - I hope your kids will be able to adjust

“I am a regular person who is vulnerable at times,” Shaeeda noted.

She told viewers that “you see me cry, laugh, argue, agree, or feel joyful like a regular person on the show.”

Shaeeda continued: “Hopefully it’s in the cards to be a mother, as I love children so much.”

Bilal Hazziez proposed to Shaeeda Sween after only 7 days

“If not, then I’ll continue being the most bendy, flexible yogi,” Shaeeda aspired.

She concluded: “Who inspire[s] people that it is never too late to pursue your dreams.”

That is all very sweet. But … is that answering everyone’s concerns?

Kobe and Emily pregnancy test (90 Day Fiance S09)

Of course not — doing so, even if they were so inclined, would violate their NDA.

And to be clear, viewers have real concerns.

There are enough red flags on the premiere to throw a miniature parade, and we haven’t even met all of the couples yet.

Bilal Hazziez recalls meeting Shaeeda Sween

One of the hottest topics among fans is Bilal Hazziez and Shaeeda Sween.

While they’re absolutely right about an unprecedented story, thankfully the main focus of fan commentary isn’t bigotry.

(And let’s face it, while racism and Islamophobia are definitely issues, the 90 Day Fiance fandom specifically tends to hate women more than anything else)

Bilal and Shaeeda (90 Day Fiance S09)

First up, they became engaged after spending only seven days together in person.

That’s hardly a record for the show (that would be Robert and Anny’s eight hours), but it’s very fast, even after an online relationship.

How well can you know someone after so little time together? These two will find out.

Bilal Hazziez and sister Nefertari drive in an old work van

Bilal has also set up an elaborate test for Shaeeda after hiding his wealth and lifestyle from her.

As he told his sister, his plan was to drive a well-used work van to pick up Shaeeda and then drive her to his childhood home.

Would this test weed out a gold digger? Maybe. Is lying to your future spouse a terrible basis for a relationship? Absolutely.

Kara Bass and Guillermo Rojer fell for each other very quickly

Up next are Kara and Guillermo, for whom the problems so far seem to only be logistical.

Because Guillermo is essentially a refugee from Venezuela, having witnessed fellow protesters being slaughtered by police gunfire, his passport is expired.

Later this season, they’ll have more personal issues, but whether the red flag is Kara having cheated (in high school!) or Guillermo’s fixation on it … only time will tell.

Emily met Kobe Blaise in Xi'an, China

For Emily and Kobe, there are a lot of potential issues, from how much time has passed to Emily’s history of less-than-stellar judgment to a potential new pregnancy.

The promos for the season make it clear that Emily may have ignored her parents’ advice about using birth control to avoid having another child too early.

Additionally, Kobe seems to express weird insecurities about Emily breastfeeding, complaining that he doesn’t want to “share” with his own child. That’s not inspiring.

Miona gives Jibri an ultimatum (90 Day Fiance S09)

Finally, so far, we have Jibri and Miona, whom we already know married in Serbia some time ago.

On the surface, they have many of the issues that Emily and Kobe do, namely that Jibri seems to be impulsive and not always listen to good advice.

He and Miona are arguing about where they will live (or rather, how soon they will leave South Dakota), but that’s not the biggest red flag.

Jibri Bell met Miona in Serbia

Miona appears to be a white woman from eastern Europe, yet is shown with varying levels of brown skin in photos.

Maybe some of it is tan, but a lot of it looks like makeup.

While it’s not the same as blackface or like the racial slurs used by Mike Berk or Alina Kasha, viewers are accusing Miona of blackfishing.

90 Day Fiance Season 9 promo with Miona and Jibri

Blackfishing, a play on the word “catfishing,” involves altering one’s appearance to seem more racially ambiguous or even to appear Black, usually when one is white.

The Kardashians are infamous for this, and it’s a pernicious trend among many influencers (both actual and aspiring).

Particularly troubling is that Miona is married to a Black man, Jibri. Will he or his mother discuss this on the show? We sure hope so.

Bilal Hazziez Tests Shaeeda Sween, 90 Day Fiance Fans See HUGE Red Flag

All eyes were on Bilal and Shaeeda on the Season 9 premiere of 90 Day Fiance on Sunday.

Though they are already married in a religious context, Bilal is planning to “test” Shaeeda before they become lawfully wedded.

Specifically, the successful real estate broker has hidden his wealth from her, and is planning to take her in a different vehicle to a different house for their first night.

A few viewers have praised this as “genius.” Many others see it as a massive red flag.

As we first meet Bilal Hazziez, it is quickly apparent that he enjoys a lifestyle befitting his success.

He has one of those nightmarish stark white houses (hey, it’s his home, not ours) and drives a Mercedes.

Though the father of two grew up very differently, he has worked hard to get to where he is today.

Both of Bilal’s children are teenagers, and he shares them with hsi ex-wife, Shahidah.

Viewers first got to “meet” Shahidah on the premiere, where she stopped by and he told her about his romance with Shaeeda.

90 Day Fiance viewers can be super weird about exes sometimes, but Shahidah has been well-received.

Shaeeda slid into Bilal’s DMs, and he eventually responded — balking only because her name is so similar to his ex’s.

It didn’t take long before sparks were flying.

Bilal eventually knew that he had to see her. He flew to Trinidad to meet her, and he brought along a ring — just in case.

That ring ended up coming in handy. On the sevneth day of their trip, he proposed.

Due to their shared Muslim faith, Bilal and Shaeeda were unable to do certain things until they were married.

So, they held a Nikah, and are now religiously married, but not yet lawfully married — something that the K-1 visa will change.

When Bilal told all of this to his ex-wife on camera, she couldn’t help but ask if Shaeeda likes him for him, or if she was taken in by his lifestyle.

Bilal told her that he has actively hidden his success from Shaeeda.

According to him, all that she has seen of his nice home is one blank wall — the one behind his head when they video chat.

Bilal’s sister, Nefertari, came over during the premiere episode to help Bilal get things ready.

They spelled out his fiancee’s name in rose petals on a bed, and he laid out presents for her against a wall.

It was all picture-perfect. But Shaeeda won’t see any of that when she first arrives.

Bilal shared his plan to pick up Shaeeda, not in his Mercedes, but in a well-used work van.

Instead of driving her to his house, he will drive her to his childhood home.

Shaeeda won’t see his real house or real car until the next day … if she passes his little test.

The plan is for this “prank” to determine if Shaeeda really loves Bilal.

On the one hand, some fans have called this a brilliant move, one that some other cast members on the franchise should emulate.

Many more have pointed out that deception is a terrible premise for a serious relationship, and that this is toxic and weird.

Bilal’s apparent inability to trust the woman he loves does seem to match up well with his obvious control issues.

(Some fans are already calling him out for misusing the “OCD” label … arranging throw pillows is not OCD, that is a real diagnosis, not a joke)

Will Shaeeda see this red flag when Bilal reveals his deception? Judging from 90 Day Fiance spoilers for this season, maybe not.

90 Day Fiance Star Emily Details "Really Hot" One-Night Stand with Kobe

On Sunday’s Season 9 premiere of 90 Day Fiance, we were all introduced to Emily and Kobe’s story.

Emily was from a medium-sized town in Kansas but blossomed into a party girl as an adult, traveling the world.

While teaching English in Xi’an, China, she met a hunky underwear model from Cameroon — Kobe.

On the premiere, Emily detailed how the two went from a steamy, dreamy one-night stand to engaged with a baby on the way.

29-year-old Emily may come across as a Horse Girl on camera, but growing up in her small community left her yearning for more.

“Nothing holds me back and I just do what I want to do,” she characterized herself honestly.

It was only after going to college that she found that she had real options for how to live her life, traveling with friends to places like Thailand and China.

34-year-old Kobe Blaise is an international underwear model.

It was happenstance when Emily laid eyes on Kobe at a club in Xi’an, China.

She had been teaching English for a few months at the time. When she spotted Kobe, it was thirst at first sight.

“I love Black guys, so of course I found the only Black guy in China,” Emily remarked to the confessional camera.

While it’s likely that she was simply joking about ending up with a Black man in China, some viewers worry that there’s a fetishization angle.

There’s a difference between appreciation and dehumanizing fetishization, and hopefully that one line is meant as the former, not the latter.

“But he’s also an international underwear model,” Emily praised of Kobe. “Obviously, that’s a perk too.”

She detailed: “The night I met Kobe, we were actually having a girls’ night. And I looked over my shoulder.”

Emily recalled: “And I saw this guy in all white, he was like, getting on, his dance moves and like, his arms were huge and muscular.”

“And,” Emily explained, “I was like, ‘Whoa, this guy’s really sexy. I’ve got to get to know him.'”

“So, we hooked up that one night, we had sex,” she shared. “It was really hot!”

Emily furnished salacious details: “It actually, like, happened in the shower, on the floor, for like, two hours. It was awesome.”

“I thought Kobe was just going to be a really fun one-night stand,” Emily admitted.

“But things got really serious, really fast,” she shared. “He was just so sweet and just like a genuinely nice guy.”

Emily admitted: “I knew it was somebody who I wanted to be with. I was like, ‘Wow, I really think I love you,’ like, even so quick.”

“And we just didn’t want to leave each other,” Emily expressed.

While she and Kobe were still in Xi’an, Kobe proposed to her — and she said yes.

Four weeks later, Emily noticed tell-tale symptoms, and tested (repeatedly) to confirm: she was pregnant.

Emily was so nervous, but Kobe was overjoyed. Emily would return to America, and Kobe would join her.

Their joy was diminished when Kobe’s visitor visa was denied, causing him to miss the birth of Koban, their son.

Then the COVID-19 pandemic hit, and Kobe had a long wait — missing so much of Koban’s life.

Emily’s parents are concerned about her dating history, her impulsive decisions, and how realistic her goals are.

They haven’t met Kobe, but they are very attached to their grandchild.

Between financial realities, possible cultural clashes, and more … they keep reminding Emily that it’s okay if things don’t work out.

Memphis Smith Has Tearful Meltdown Amidst Feud with Hamza’s Sister: Please Leave Me Alone!

One of the biggest unanswered questions after the 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days Tell All was about Memphis and Hamza.

We know that they married. We know that Hamza came to Michigan. We know that Memphis gave birth to their baby.

Beyond that, all that we have seen are a lot of hints about what is going on, and none of it is good.

As Memphis’ sister-in-law leakes alleged messages back and forth, Memphis gave a tearful public reply begging for kindness.

Memphis Smith and Moknii Hamza getting together does not mean happily ever after — the spinoff or the actual, you know, happiness.

Citing feeling unwell, Memphis ducked out of the Tell All.

While it’s suspected that they filmed for something or another, the Tell All stunt was not planned, because Hamza’s family ended up not being part of it.

Over the weekend, Rawia — Hamza’s sister, a fan-favorite for the franchise — shared and deleted alleged messages with Memphis.

Rawia appeared to be echoing her brother’s concerns bout Memphis’ ex-husband, Justin Sandoval, who is the father of her kids.

“Sister, Hamza does not mind to speak with [sic] your ex-husband but he [feels] jealous when you go alone to his house alone,” Rawia wrote.

Memphis’ frustration was palpable despite the politeness of her reply.

“Justin is not here, he is at work and when he gets here I will be leaving,” Memphis explained. “I just can’t leave the children alone.”

She reminded Rawia that without Justin, she could not have made the trip to Tunisia to see and marry Hamza.

“He [understands] your situation,” Rawia replied, “but he can’t hide his [feelings] that he [feels] jealous when you be [sic] in your ex-husband house.”

“Well, he does not need to be with me then,” Memphis replied bluntly.

“Because he knows Justin is in the kids’ life and right now, he is helping me out greatly,” she added. “I am done arguing.”

Rawia continued in her Instagram stories, writing: “I think it’s time to talk about the truth and what my brother went through.”

She added: “Trying to make someone look bad and lying to them is inhumane.”

“Every word I say I have proof,” Rawia claimed.

“The first thing I will explain is why Hamza wants to MOVE with his wife and the kids to another city, and you can find out the answer,” Rawia hinted.

“I just want you to expose other people’s lies,” Rawia expressed. “You are just trying to show your good side (it doesn’t exist) but your reality is worse.”

Rawia accused: “You want to play the victim but you are a cheat and your mask will fall soon.”

Hamza posted his own very vague post, seemingly in response to the exchange.

“When a person can no longer control you, they will try to control how [others] see you,” he wrote.

“These lies will feel unfair, but stay above it,” Hamza continued, “trusting that other people will eventually see the truth just like you did.”

Memphis also posted a tearful meltdown, telling her detractors that they do not know what they are talking about and should stop insulting her.

She is likely still under NDA and cannot get into any specific to defend herself, so is stuck in a position where she has to be vague.

This is a painful position, and a lot of innuendos being bandied about by those involved cannot be helpful for this family.

90 Day Fiance Spoiler: Are Bilal Hazziez and Shaeena Sween Still Married?

On the Season 9 premiere of 90 Day Fiance, viewers were introduced to Bilal and Shaeena.

These two are already making an impression, and not only because they are already religiously married ahead of their K-1 visa and lawful wedding.

Bilal set up an elaborate deception to test Shaeena. And as we know, there will be more trials to come this season.

After all of that, plus obvious questions about their compatibility, are Bilal and Shaeena still together?

Bilal Hazziez is a successful real estate broker

Bilal Hazziez is a very successful man, and he lives his life accordingly — he has a very nice home and a nice car.

He did not grow up that way, but affirmed in the premiere that he has never forgotten his roots and how they shaped him.

Additionally, Bilal cited his faith as a Muslim for helping form the core of his values and sense of purpose.

Bilal Hazziez has two teenage children

Bilal has two teenage children.

Though he remains very close with his ex-wife, Shahidah (arguably even closer than when they were married), he is divorced.

It took years before he was willing to open up and find a new partner. When he did, he found Shaeeda.

Bilal Hazziez recalls meeting Shaeeda Sween

It took some time before Bilal was ready to respond to Shaeeda Sween’s messages, he explained.

Why? Because her name was so, so similar to that of his ex-wife.

Eventually, they began talking, sparks flew, and then he flew down to meet her.

Bilal Hazziez proposed to Shaeeda Sween after only 7 days

On the seventh day of Bilal’s first trip to Trinidad and Tobago to meet her, he proposed.

He had brought the ring just in case it came up, and it came up. She said yes.

Additionally, they took things a step further, having a Nikah — a religious wedding ceremony without the legal binding.

Bilal Hazziez explains that he had a Nikah

Bilal explained that, due to the restrictions within their faith, he and Shaeeda needed this spiritual union in order to be together.

He told his ex-wife this when she stopped by.

She had some questions and concerns, both as his friend and as the mother of his children.

Shahidah asks if Bilal Hazziez is sure of the intentions

Was it possible, she politely asked, that Shaeeda was dazzled by Bilal’s lifestyle?

Bilal has a nice home and drives a Mercedes, and that can attract a lot of potential partners.

But he explained why he is so, so confident that this is not the case.

Bilal Hazziez reveals that he has hidden his wealth

Bilal explained that he had actively obscured his lifestyle from Shaeeda.

She has never seen his house, his bank accounts, or his car.

When they video chat, Bilal detailed, Shaeeda sees only a plain white wall behind him — despite her having asked for more.

Shaeeda Sween - I'm just busy packing some stuff

Shaeeda herself was excited to make the trip to see Bilal again.

Earlier, he had worried that she had no children, wondering if she was prepared to marry a father of two teens.

The opposite ended up being true — Shaeeda wants to have a baby, and Bilal isn’t sure if he’s ready to have a new child.

Shaeeda Sween - I hope your kids will be able to adjust

But there was a lot that Bilal was not telling Shaeeda.

Yes, he has a whole exciting life set up for the two of them to lead together.

But he’s planning to have a prenup. And he’s planning something more.

Bilal Hazziez spells Shaeeda with rose petals

Bilal and his sister, Nefertari, went on a trip in a worn looking work van.

He revealed his plan to deceive Shaeeda into believing that this is his primary vehicle.

What’s more, he also plans to mislead her about the house for the first day and the first night.

Bilal Hazziez and sister Nefertari drive in an old work van

As a test of whether she “really” loves him, Bilal wanted Shaeeda to spend the night in his childhood home.

The house has visible flaws on its exterior, and contrasts sharply with Bilal’s actual lifestyle.

He thinks that Shaeeda’s reaction will tell him if she’s right for him, but many people — once told that they were being tested — would pack their bags and leave.

Bilal Hazziez plans to use childhood home as a trick

We all know that there is more to come, including Bilal proposing the prenup to Shaeeda.

As we have seen with past couples, prenups are relatively common among Americans, especially among younger Americans, but sometimes unheard of in other cultures.

This and other inevitable culture clashes could drive Bilal and Shaeeda apart, whether they legally marry at the end of 90 days or not.

Shaeeda resents Bilal's prenup (90 Day Fiance S09)

There’s no “smoking gun” so far regarding Bilal and Shaeeda’s relationship status, but the pair do follow each other.

They still like each other’s posts, and Shaeeda’s Instagram profile features an American flag emoji in her bio.

Also, Shaeeda’s yoga posts on social media seem to show her in or around Kansas City — making this either a deception as thorough as Bilal’s, or a strong hint that they are still together.

Earlier this month, disgraced former 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days star Geoffrey Paschel’s retrial motion was delayed.

About six months ago, he was convicted for a brutal domestic assault and kidnapping, but continues to fight his 18-year sentence.

For reasons known only to her, Varya Malina has remained his steadfast and vocal supporter through all of this.

Varya is once again trying to elicit sympathy for Geoffrey, likening him to an “animal in a cage” as he begins to serve his sentence.

Just months into Geoffrey Paschel’s 18-year sentence, Varya Malina says that visiting him behind bars is a miserable experience.

She wrote on Instagram: “I was supposed to life his spirits up.”

“But,” Varya continued, “he was the one who cheered me up.”

Geoffrey Paschel listens to the judge accurately describe him

“The hardest thing I’ve ever seen in my life is my beloved one, who is like an animal in a cage,” Varya expressed.

“And I can’t do anything to help him right at the moment,” she complained.

“It feels miserable, the lowest low,” Varya wrote, “and I’m so emotionally exhausted.”

Varya expressed shock — in a negative way — when Geoffrey was sentenced to nearly two decades behind bars.

While many of those of us who were following the case were also surprised, it was a pleasant one — a rare case of a domestic abuser being held accountable.

In contrast, Varya appears to believe that Geoffrey is innocent, and has expressed unwavering confidence that the whole thing will be overturned on appeal.

Geoffrey Paschel at trial

Fortunately, so far, Varya has been as wrong about Geoffrey’s success in court as she is about his character.

Last week, she updated followers, revealing that his retrial motion hearing has been delayed.

Even when the hearing takes place in late May, not even Varya expects a retrial to be granted — but it’s just the first step on the appeals process.

Geoffrey Paschel forced to listen at his sentencing hearing

“But if you think he’s about to give up, you are so wrong,” Varya threatened on Instagram.

“Even in these horrible circumstances,” she described, “he was the same goofball I fell in love with.”

Many manipulators know exactly how to present themselves to continue to get undeserved sympathy and support from their marks.

“The first visitation was so emotionally exhausting, but it was worth every minute nonetheless,” Varya appraised.

“We both had that same feeling as at the airport in Russia, when we met for the first time,” she characterized.

Varya described: “I jumped and cried as he smiled and joked about hugging me like my father.”

Geoffrey Paschel found guilty of domestic assault

“I planned to go live [on Instagram] right after the visitation but couldn’t find any energy to share it with you,” Varya added apologetically.

“I felt that the best thing for my mental health,” she explained, “was to hide to some invisible place where no one can see or hear me and vice versa.”

Varya also shared that she would be returning to visit Geoffrey again.

Kristen Wilson testifies as Geoffrey Paschel trial

Just months before Geoffrey flew to Russia to meet Varya for the first time, he was engaged to a different woman — Kristen Wilson.

In June of 2019, he attacked her in her home, brutally beating her and then holding her captive, preventing her from leaving or calling 9-1-1.

Kristen managed to escape, seeking refuge at a neighbor’s, where she was able to contact authorities to treat her injuries and to arrest the monster who had done this to her.

Geoffrey went on to film with Varya (and Mary) before prosecutors built their case enough to issue the full charges against him.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the trial did not take place until October of 2021, when he was found guilty.

Between another ex’s haunting testimony and the attempt to contact Kristen to induce her to plead for leniency, Geoffrey received a well-deserved 18 year sentence.

Bilal Hazziez is Lying to Shaeeda Sween About Everything on 90 Day Fiance (Recap)

90 Day Fiance has launched too many spinoffs to count, but the flagship series is back.

Season 9 premiered on Sunday, introducing viewers to four new couples — with others to come later this season.

First up, Bilal and Shaeeda are married religiously but not yet legally, and Bilal has a lot of control issues and struggles with trust.

His solution is to plan an elaborate test for his fiancee … a huge deception in which he’s hiding his real home, car, and lifestyle.

Emily went through some wild, impulsive years that led her to travel the world, which is how she met Kobe, an underwear model.

That one-night stand turned into an engagement and a pregnancy, but now Kobe is about to meet his son for the first time.

Jibri does not always think things through, but a series of spur-of-the-moment choices led him to Seriba, where he met Miona.

He’s bringing her over to be his wife, but how is she going to mesh with life in South Dakota … or living with his parents?

Kara fell head over heels for Guillermo, a strikingly hot sweetheart who is finally going to be able to be with her.

But there are paperwork issues even before he arrives, and they’re both afraid that something will go terribly wrong.

1. Bilal Hazziez and Shaeeda Sween

Bilal hazziez is a successful real estate broker
Bilal introduces himself. He is a successful real estate broker. He grew up in a devout Muslim household and worked his way up to success — and while his lifestyle is now very different than it was, he has not forgotten his roots. He also repeatedly misuses the term “OCD” in reference to his aesthetic preferences for how he keeps his house. What Bilal does have is some control issues.

2. Bilal is also a father

Bilal hazziez has two teenage children
He has two teenage children. He has been married, and while he and his ex-wife get along very well (better than they did when they were married, it seems), he has clearly struggled a lot to open up to new people after the divorce.

3. Then, he met Shaeeda

Bilal hazziez recalls meeting shaeeda sween
She reached out to him on social media, and the two hit it off. For the longest time, things were online only, but eventually, Bilal had to see her, so he flew to Trinidad to see her in person.

4. Seven days later, they were engaged

Bilal hazziez proposed to shaeeda sween after only 7 days
Bilal seems like a careful guy, and that included packing a ring — just in case. He ended up using it one week after meeting her in person.

5. And to think, he almost refused to talk with her

Shaeeda sween name comparison to ex wife shahidah
Bilal admitted that Shaeeda’s name being so similar to his ex-wife’s gave him serious pause. That may sound silly, but a lot of people have “dealbreaker” names — the name of an ex or a parent, usually.

6. Bilal and Shaeeda are already married

Bilal hazziez explains that he had a nikah
Speaking to his ex-wife after putting on a show of showing her a house, Bilal tells Shahidah that he and Shaeeda had a Nikah and are married in a religious sense, which allows them to do things like live in the same house, but are not yet legally married. Many communities find personal, spiritual, and/or religious meaning in marriages that are not state-sanctioned. Of course, in order to enjoy the legal rights afforded to a spousal relationship, they will need to be lawfully wedded … if that’s what ends up happening.

Emily Vows to Use Birth Control with Kobe on 90 Day Fiance Premiere

Season 9 is introducing six new 90 Day Fiance couples alongside one familiar pair.

Emily and Kobe are new to us but not to each other, having met years ago in China.

They already share a child, but have been separated due to the pandemic. Only now can they live as a family.

Emily’s parents have potential concerns, and are all but begging Emily to not get pregnant again once Kobe arrives.

Season 9 of 90 Day Fiance premieres on Sunday, April 17 on TLC and on Discovery Plus.

“We all hope it works,” Emily’s mom is shown assuring her adult daughter at the beginning of a sneak peek.

“We all are hoping he’s the great guy that you say he is,” her mom tells Emily.

“But,” she warns her daughter, “he may be a different person when he comes here.”

Certainly, 90 Day Fiance viewers are familiar with the phenomenon.

Sometimes, couples grow apart between trips, or feel isolated in a new place, or cannot adapt to parenthood.

Emily’s mother speaks to the camera during a confessional, explaining her worries.

“My concern is that she’s not head over heels in love with him when he comes,” she notes.

“Or somethings not the same,” she continues, “and she marries him anyway.”

Emily’s father is also citing potential obstacles, including their location.

Kobe is an underwear model from Cameroon who has traveled to various countries, which is how he and Emily first met.

How will he adjust to life in their town — as someone from another country, as a Black man in a mostly white community, and as a new father?

“You’re not going to have the wild life you had in China,” Emily’s dad reminds Emily.

“He’s going to have to be domesticated very quickly as far as being a dad,” he notes, referring to his grandson.

Emily’s dad notes that Kobe may have a hard time adjusting to “taking care of a crazy one and half year old.”

“He’s going to have to be a stay-at-home dad for a while,” Emily’s dad reminds her.

Speaking of which, Kobe — like about half of the cast of this show over the years — won’t be able to work without a work visa.

That’s not the same as the K-1 visa, meaning that he could be effectively “stuck” at home in parent mode, unable to seek employment.

“OK, I’m picking up the tab for six months.” Emily’s dad notes, “I’m supporting everybody for six months, right?”

He implores her: “One thing is for sure, you better not get pregnant.”

Emily assures her parents: “I have birth control, I just haven’t taken it yet.”

Emily’s mom reminds her: “It doesn’t work if you don’t take it.”

“It’s fine,” Emily promises her. “We’re not going to have any more kids in this house.”

Her father’s lips turn up in a smile as Emily is already hinting at future grandchildren.

Most parents would love to be able to pick up the tab for their child and grandchild during difficult times.

Emily is a teacher and has also been working as a nanny, but there are limits to how much she can work as a single mom and how much she can make.

We don’t know how Kobe will adjust to Emily’s town or his new role as a father, but the trailer sure did hint at a possible pregnancy.

Geoffrey Paschel Retrial Motion DELAYED

90 Day Fiance has introduced viewers to manipulators, liars, creeps, and worse over the years.

Even so, the franchise would be hard pressed to cast someone worse than Geoffrey Paschel, even if they tried.

Following his conviction for kidnapping and assault, Geoffrey was sentenced to 18 years in prison.

Geoffrey began his appeals process with a motion for a retrial … and the hearing has just gotten a major delay.

Varya Malina — who for some twisted reason seems to still love him — has explained much of this to her followers.

Geoffrey’s motion for a retrial is not likely to succeed, and he knows it.

The motion is more of a formality before his attorneys launch numerous appeals over the next few years.

Varya Malina NYE still with Geoffrey Paschel photo

However, the court has issued a continuance on the motion for a retrial.

“I got some news from the lawyer,” Varya reported to her followers on Instagram this week.

“The motion for the new trial was delayed for a variety of reasons,” she shared, “which nobody had time to explain.”

“And I doubt that cared,” Varya added, indicating that she does not care why the motion was continued.

“It was delayed for a date,” she went on. “Nobody knows which date. It’s all such a stupid circus.”

However, Starcasm reports that the delay is until May 26 — less than a month and a half from now.

Technically, there is a chance that Geoffrey could be awarded a new trial at the hearting late next month.

If so, it would likely stem from an objection on his attorney’s behalf that the court, after contemplation, overruled.

The reason was that the victim’s testimony included descriptions of Geoffrey’s past abuse as well as on the night in question.

Geoffrey Pashcel mug

Geoffrey’s defense attorney argued that Tennessee law requires that he be notified before prior bad acts are brought up.

The court decided that the victim’s testimony in court was not sufficient to interfere with due process.

Fortunately, the motion for a retrial is considered a long-shot at best.

Geoffrey Paschel found guilty of domestic assault

Kristen Wilson, Geoffrey’s ex-fiancee whom he savagely beat and held against her will in June of 2019, only described what she had experienced.

While Geoffrey has a long list of exes accusing him of the same monstrous violence, Kristen did not refer to them while on the stand.

However, during Geoffrey’s sentencing hearing, one of his ex-wives testified in order to shed light upon his brutal history.

Geoffrey Paschel is sentenced to 18 years in prison

This was not Geoffrey’s first accusation of domestic violence or his first conviction, but it was his first conviction for domestic violence charges.

Only a small fraction of abusers are ever even charged with a crime, let alone sentenced to any substantial prison time.

Geoffrey’s sentencing is a rare, hope-inspiring exception, brought on by the scale of his violence, the courage of the woman who pressed charges against him, and the wisdom of the court.

It is often difficult to celebrate someone being in prison, because there are so many injustices regarding who is sent to prison and how they are treated.

Geoffrey’s unrepentant brutality, and his attempt to use his children to manipulate the victim into pushing for leniency, make him a bit of a special case.

We can all sleep a little easier knowing that he’s behind bars now, and for nearly two decades to come. Who knows how many women this will save.

Bilal Hazziez Hides His Wealth from Shaeeda Sween on 90 Day Fiance Season 9

In addition to one pair of familiar faces, 90 Day Fiance Season 9 features six new couples.

The Season 9 cast includes Bilal and Shaeeda, a brand new pair for viewers.

Bilal is a successful guy, but the limited time that he’s spent with Shaeeda was not at this home.

In this clip from the premiere, Bilal confesses that he has been hiding his lifestyle and his wealth from his future wife.

In this sneak peek, Bilal Hazziez is speaking to a friend about not being entirely transparent with Shaeeda Sween.

His friend accuses him of flaunting his home and vehicle on social media, but he promises that he hasn’t done this with Shaeeda.

“I purposely don’t show what I have,” he reveals.

“She’s never seen my house,” Bilal details.

“She doesn’t see,” he continues, “even when we video chat, you’re looking at a wall.”

The 42-year-old promises that he has good reasons for leaving out this “detail” in talking to his 37-year-old fiancee.

“I’ve never shown her some material things related to my success,” Bilal explains to the confessional camera.

He has done this “because I wanted to see if she was really in it for me, not just what I have.”

The real estate broker goes on: “Unfortunately, there are some people who they consider gold diggers out there.”

Bilal continues: “and there are a lot of things that we still don’t know about each other.”

“You want somebody to love you or be with you for you, versus what you have,” he reasons.

Bilal also reveals his plans to ask Shaeeda for a prenup.

“I think it’s important to have in place,” Bilal reasons.

“There are certain things that I want to be able to protect for the kids,” the successful father notes.

“You can only marry someone for a couple of months, and all of a sudden they have half of everything you have,” he characterizes.

“And they never helped build what you have,” Bilal adds.

On the one hand, it sounds like he’s exaggerating most marriage laws, as most states consider previously acquired property to not be marital property.

On the other, Bilal is clearly emphasizing that he understands the concept of division of property and alimony, as some wealth-building is made possible by a supportive partner.

The trailer already confirmed to viewers that there will be a dispute, possibly an extended one, over Bilal’s prenup request.

As we have seen on past seasons, prenup agreements are viewed differently by different people.

Increasingly commonplace among younger Americans, sometimes there is a culture clash when brought up with a partner who views them as rare or insulting.

Shaeeda is a social media influencer. She practices yoga. She is also from Trinidad.

Bilal and Shaeeda had known each other in person for only a week before he proposed to her, and she said yes.

It is neither insulting nor suspicious for either of them to safeguard their futures, especially when Bilal already has children from a previous marriage to consider.

Five Unanswered Questions from the 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days Season 5 Tell All

So much went down at a memorably messy 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days Tell All.

Season 5 is over, and we know that at least some of these couples will return to the franchise.

But … some major questions are still unresolved.

Fans across social media are abuzz with queries, and we’ve compiled some of the most frequently asked questions … and may be able to help with answers.

BF90 S5 cast on the Tell All stage

Gino allegedly slid into Jessica’s DMs. Memphis straight up disappeared.

Mahogany’s fake apartment wasn’t explained. Did Johnny follow through on his flight plans?

And why was the entire cast Team Mike when viewers are much more divided over him?

Gino Palazzolo says that he has decided against a prenup

During Part 1 of the Tell All, Shaun Robinson asked Gino if he had messaged anyone else from the cast.

She — and Jasmine — gave him every opportunity to confess, but when Gino is under pressure, he denies everything, no matter how transparent the lie.

Naturally, the Tell All shared DMs showing Gino messaging Ben’s friend, Jessica, who quickly shut down any possible flirtation.

DMs from Gino Palazzolo to Jessica

Though the DMs shown clearly imply that Gino is the one reaching out, Gino claimed at the Tell All that Jessica had reached out first.

That seems … unlikely, for a host of reasons.

Regardless, this led to open feuding between Jasmine and Jessica, with the former lashing out at the latter due to insecurities.

Jessica - it's painful to listen to

Gino claimed to have deleted his DMs and to therefore be unable to prove his ridiculous claim.

Jessica offered to show her DMs to the camera, but viewers didn’t see that.

Maybe she did, and the show aired their edited screenshot (above) instead of trying to make us read a screen-via-screen-via-screen set of DMs.

Hamza joins Memphis on the Tell All stage

Up next, what is going on with Memphis?

Memphis and Hamza were easily the best-looking couple at the Tell All, and the only ones who were physically on stage together.

They are married, have welcomed a child together, and seem to have everything going for them.

Memphis Smith isn't feeling well, has to leave Tell All

But during the Tell All, Memphis abruptly got up and left, explaining that she was sick.

Hamza remained behind at the request of production, but viewers didn’t hear from Memphis.

We all know that they likely filmed for another season already, so was this planned to avoid spoilers … or something else?

Rawia (Hamza sister) IG says she and mom were ready to participate in Tell All

Rawia, Hamza’s sister (and a fan favorite), took to Instagram to share a number of things, vaguely implying that something is up with Memphis.

She also shared that she and her mother, Hayet, had been prepared to participate in the Tell All, only to not be called upon after Memphis left. What happened?

Maybe Memphis really was sick (that’s the most likely explanation). Or maybe there are things that no one is ready to discuss just yet.

Ben Rathbun tries to get into the car with Mahogany Roca anyway

There was so much that was covered about Ben and Mahogany.

We saw scenes from their season, we saw never-before-shown footage (and Mahogany feeling betrayed by it).

Viewers were even treated to Jessica, Ben’s friend, telling him exactly what she now thinks of him.

Jessica called Mahogany a “victim” and Jasmine said that Ben gave off a “pervert vibe.”

But there are still questions about Mahogany … and that super fake looking apartment.

What was the deal with the most staged, transparently not-hers apartment that we’ve ever seen?

Mahogany Roca - do you want to our my home?

It really wasn’t addressed enough on the show, and even less so on the Tell All.

Now, maybe Ben and Mahogany did go into it but their answers didn’t fit on the Tell All.

Or maybe Ben’s interview answer, given earlier this year, was meant to be enough.

Ben Rathbun confronts Mahogany Roca over past deceptions

Earlier this year, as the season aired, Ben tried to justify the apartment.

He claimed that Mahogany really did live there for a while.

Maybe he was trying to cover for her. Maybe he’s even more gullible than viewers thought. It’s hard to say.

Ella Johnson and Johnny are still together (Tell All)

Ella and Johnny had an uncomfortable season, with a lot of tears and zero payoff — because they never got to meet up.

At the Tell All, Johnny promised that he was coming in February, and had already purchased his ticket.

The Tell All was filmed in January of this year, however, one month ahead of that trip.

Shaun Robinson asks if Ella had any other trysts

Ella and Johnny cannot see the future, and neither can Shaun Robinson, so none of them at the time knew where things are headed.

There have been no photos of the two together shared on Instagram.

That could be due to the NDA for Season 5 … or even beyond that.

Ella Johnson IG didn't cheat on Johnny, will return for 90 Day Diaries

Ella Johnson will return to the franchise on 90 Day Diaries.

Perhaps we will get to see her and Johnny meet up in person. Perhaps not.

We’d love to have seen her on another season of a more prominent spinoff, but maybe production wasn’t willing to take the chance that Johnny would back out again.

Mike Berk tears up on the Tell All stage

A lot of viewers are totally weirded out over how universally Team Mike the cast was.

Sure, earlier this season, it seemed like Ximena was just disgusted by him but not breaking things off because of the benefits of dating him.

But even those of us who didn’t see Mike’s disgusting racist social media history saw an ugly side of him on screen.

Mike Berk cusses out Ximena, her family

Mike swore at Ximena, insulting her and insulting her family.

He also strongly gave off the vibe that he felt that he could “buy” Ximena and her love, at one point even refusing to leave her home because he paid the rent.

No amount of money gives you ownership of a person, and a gift is just that — a gift, not a conditional tool to hold over someone’s head. Mike was being gross.

Mike Berk begs Ximena Cuellar to still give him another chance

It’s possible that Mike’s castmates had only seen certain sides of their conflicts, because this was filmed in January.

Clearly, they were given footage from later in the season to watch, but it must have been a highlight reel — not a dozen or so hours.

If that’s the case, then production picked those edits to share because they wanted the cast to be Team Mike, possibly to build up hype for his and Ximena’s next season.

Ben Rathbun: 90 Day Fiance Nearly DESTROYED My Love with Mahogany

On the 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days Season 5 Tell All, Ben and Mahogany were in the hotseat.

Castmates put Ben on blast, especially after he picked at their relationships.

One of Ben’s own friends called him out, labeling Mahogany as a “victim” and Ben as a “narcissist.”

After all of that, Ben says that the only thing threatening to ruin things with Mahogany is the show itself.

Ben Rathbun talks about counseling couples as a pastor

Ben Rathbun started Season 5 looking like a gullible fool, but that’s not how most viewers see him how.

We all watched as he flew down to Peru against Mahogany Roca’s wishes, consistantly pushing past her boundaries.

While there are lingering questions about her choices, nothing compares to watching Ben chase her into and then out of a vehicle.

Ben Rathbun tries to get into the car with Mahogany Roca anyway

Though things ended in that eye-catching way during their season, things were better on the Tell All.

Addressing their castmates, Mahogany owned up to her lie about her age.

She (very wisely) explained how it’s smarter to not share exact details about her age and her life with a brand new internet “friend.”

Gino Palazzolo and Ben Rathbun fist-bump over not giving up

Mahogany also explained why she refused to video chat with Ben.

Defending herself to Ben’s friend Jessica, she explained that Ben had asked if she wanted to chat “like a date,” so she declined.

That is not the story that Ben had told people. It seemed almost like he wanted people to view her as dishonest.

Jasmine Pineda - pervert vibe

Jasmine chimed in, telling Ben what countless viewers had observed.

Between the 30-year age gap and Ben’s refusal to honor Mahogany’s boundaries and his endless pursuit of her … it was creepy.

What Jasmine called a “pervert vibe,” others had already noted as creepy behavior.

Ben Rathbun in the park with Mahogany Roca, wants to marry 1 year later

Ben and Mahogany seemed to be in a “better” place, and the show played ample footage that Ben had recorded without production present.

Of course, Mahogany expressed a feeling of betrayal, admitting that she hadn’t realized that Ben would share all of this with the show.

That really put a sour lining on their otherwise sweet moments.

Then Jessica, formerly a critic (or skeptic) of Mahogany’s, tuning in to the Tell All and adjusting her view when presented with new information.

Jessica apologized to Mahogany, admitting that she now sees her as a “victim” not as a scammer.

She also put Ben on blast, labeling him a narcissist.

Ben Rathbun IG post-Tell All post

Following the Tell All, Ben took to Instagram to praise Mahogany for being “incredibly wise” for not blindly trusting him before they met.

“Yes, she wanted to meet me, and she loved me, but she rightly questioned my intentions when I came with an entire TV show to meet her for the first time,” he explained.

Ben added that she was not seeking attention or fame by appearing on the show.

angry Mahogany Roca walks away from Ben Rathbun

“I made this impossible by convincing her to be on this show,” Ben said of her desire to get to know him.

“Was this all a mistake? It certainly damaged our relationship,” he reflected.

Ben wrote that a “lot has happened off-camera” and asked fans to not judge them too harshly, because they don’t have all of the information.
