Jibri Bell BRAWLS with Daveed Over Miona Insults on 90 Day Fiance (Recap)

90 Day Fiance Season 9, Episode 8 showed multiple couples going from bad to worse.

Jibri spends a lot of time defending his buddy Daveed to Miona, because the two do not get along.

Once there, however, Jibri and Daveed are the ones clashing … leading to a physical fight.

Ariela is trying to be supportive of Biniyam’s pie-in-the-sky UFC dreams, but she is in for a rude awakening.

Bilal and Shaeeda grapple with religious differences and very conflicting ideas about how to live and operate in their home.

Emily and Kobe are not getting along, leading to a very toxic moment that happens right in front of her family.

Kara and Guillermo’s short but sweet walk downtown highlights how common international love stories can be.

Patrick is moving to Dallas, which means that so is Thais … and, to her chagrin, John.

Finally, Mohamed is starting to make it clear that his previously stated rules for Yve were just the start — and he expects her to convert.

1. Jibri Bell and Miona Bell

Jibri bell and miona bell pack for chicago
The two start off at home in Rapid City, packing up for their trip to Chicago. Jibri laments that Miona is taking up so much space in the suitcases, but he also packs what looks like a dozen different sets of sunglasses. That is extremely Jibri of him, but it’s a pretty cute moment for them.

2. They drive to Chicago

Jibri bell defends his friend during the drive
It’s more than 900 miles (nearly 13 hours of driving), so what we saw of the drive was very abbreviated, but Jibri knows that Miona and Daveed don’t get along or like each other, but defends his buddy to Miona, asking her to give him a chance. He also details to the camera that Daveed kicked his head into a coma when they were teens (he was out for three days) after Jibri made fun of his accent. Jibri dated a girl for months only to learn that she is Daveed’s twin sister, and he and Daveed forged a lasting friendship. Totally bonkers.

3. They arrive

Jibri bell meets up with daveed dacho
Daveed promotes his truck-related business to the cameras as he and Jibri touch base. He and Miona force smiles and hug.

4. But Daveed has some advice for Jibri

Jibri bell is unhappy with pragmatic advice
He suggests that Jibri do some “real” business like he is, which Jibri does not want to hear. He accuses Daveed of sounding just like his (Jibri’s) parents. Jibri’s focus will be music, but Daveed feels that Jibri has only made a little in recent years and has seemed distracted.

5. The distraction objects to that

Miona bell defends jibri bell to daveed dacho
Miona speaks up for Jibri following his dreams. It’s a good reminder that these two do work very well together, even if they have been clashing over wedding plans.

6. Speaking of which …

Miona bell calls to inquire about a destination wedding
Miona is taken aback by how expensive this beach wedding that she wants for some reason will be. It’s three times as expensive as it would have been in Serbia. This does not deter her, however, even driving her to take the drastic step of calling to ask questions as she hopes to have a destination wedding during the K-1 visa timeframe.

Biniyam Shibre Says Ariela Weinberg Can Still Sign for His Green Card if They Split

While much of this week’s 90 Day Fiance was dominated by Yvette’s bikini dilemma, fans will not soon forget Bini’s moment.

Ariela Weinberg brought Biniyam Shibre to his first dinner with her family. He was nervous, and hoped to impress them.

He certainly made an impression, at least.

Specifically, Bini blurted out that his sisters had advised him to make sure that Ari signs his green card paperwork … even if they break up.

Ariela and Biniyam’s storyline on Season 9, Episode 7 began with Bini making a call to his sisters, Mimi and Wish.

The two were quick to crack jokes about Ari — about the wine-throwing incident, no less.

Biniyam laughed at the joke before halfheartedly reminding them that she is, after all, their soon-to-be sister-in-law.

It is no secret that Biniyam’s sisters are not fans of his relationship.

Bini’s “I have to stay with Ari” line was awkward at best, implying that he was forced to be with her as a means to an end.

But his sisters said it more directly and intentionally — they want him to be able to stay in the US to have a relationship with, potentially, both of his sons.

The main event for the day, however, was Biniyam going to dinner with Ari’s family.

They now live very close to her parents and to her sister, Kristin.

En route, Biniyam admitted that he knew how her family members — some of them — felt about their troubled relationship, and was nervous.

Biniyam already knew Janice and Dr. Fred Weinberg, but did not know everyone that well.

Ari’s brother, Brad, had previously advised her to just break up with Biniyam since she seemed to be endlessly miserable.

That is not terrible advice, but — in part motivated by how Bini’s previous marriage ended — has seemingly done everything in her power to keep the relationship going.

Eager to change the perception of him created by his past actions, Biniyam tried to explain his behavior when Ari was last in New Jersey.

He said that he had been unreachable, turning their family home in Ethiopia into a recording studio and party house, because he was trying to keep himself “busy.”

Bini acknowledged that he had made a mistake by doing so.

Ari’s sister Kristin was more direct than some of her family members, saying what everyone was thinking — including that his answer seemed a little too perfect.

She also asked about all of the times when she had called Ariela, or been called by her, in Ethiopia … times when Bini wasn’t even there.

Kristin did not get a real answer for that, not that we saw. But what answer could possibly justify the behavior?

Then, as you can see in this screenshot, Biniyam spoke about his MMA fighter aspirations … and his sisters’ suggestion.

“Me and Ari are, our relationship, I hope we can fix it, but I don’t know,” he told the Weinbergs.

“That’s why my sisters said, at least even if the relationship doesn’t work out, Ari, at least she can help you with the green card,” Bini said.

“I like that idea, to protect me, because I lost my first son, I don’t want to lose this family,” Biniyam explained.

The awkward silence, which we have preserved in GIF form, was a tasteful and diplomatic response to Biniyam’s slip of the tongue.

Bini may be struggling to communicate, as Ariela says, but saying this at all, let alone to her family and on camera, simply cannot go over well.

Mohamed Abdelhamed Demands Yvette Arellano Choose Him or a Bikini on 90 Day Fiance (Recap)

Memorial Day Weekend’s episode of 90 Day Fiance saw some new, ugly sides to a few cast members come out.

Season 9, Episode 7’s most dramatic moment went down with Mohamed and Yvette, from start to finish.

An awkward dinner with Yve’s friends led to rehashing an old argument in the car, with Mohamed making it clear that he expects a lot more changes from her.

In Princeton, Ariela takes Biniyam for dinner with her family, but her siblings have questions and concerns. Can he reassure them?

Bilal and Shaeeda’s blink-and-you-miss-it scene involves some genuine romance and a heart-to-heart.

It is a very welcome break from the Lifetime Original psychological thriller Bilal’s been putting on.

Emily and Kobe clash over seemingly everything. Who will end up in the (literal) driver’s seat of their relationship?

Jibri takes Miona to meet his amazing grandmother, but just because their outfits match doesn’t mean that they see eye-to-eye on everything.

Kara takes Guillermo to her high school reunion, where he comes face-to-face with her ex. One revelation could forever change how he views Kara.

1. Yvette Arellano and Mohamed Abdelhamed

Mohamed abdelhamed calls out yvette arellano dress slash jacket
Yve and Mohamed are ready to go out to dinner to meet up with her friends, who will be meeting him in person for the first time. However, Mohamed calls out Yve’s outfit, asking her to wear a longer jacket because her underwear shows through her dress in some lighting. This is a common issue with a lot of clothing, but a dealbreaker for him. Yvette agrees and gets a long jacket, but she is clearly a little taken aback that this is how the evening is beginning.

2. No wine, thanks

Yvette arellano passes on wine tonight
While Jen, Rochelle, and Tatiana are free to drink wine, Yvette has agreed to Mohamed’s request that she only drink on special occasions now. She has also removed pork from her diet. She is not Muslim herself or interested in converting, but she is doing a lot to make him comfortable.

3. What does Mohamed think of Yve’s friends?

Mohamed abdelhamed they are weird
He thinks that they’re weird, mostly. He feels like they are dressed in a certain way to test him and his reactions — Rochelle, at least, is wearing a low neckline, though looking back at Yvette’s introductory episode, the skin coverage is comparable to how they dressed when they just met up with Yve.

4. Time for a “lightning round” of questions

Jen rochelle and tatiana ask mohamed abdelhamed about past relat
Realistically, you don’t get on the show with your friend if you’re not going to ask some tough questions or otherwise stir the pot, so that’s just what they do. They ask Mohamed about his prior relationship experiences. He had one serious ex, but she broke things off because he does not have money. He confirms that he has never slept with or kissed anyone before Yve.

5. Oh?

Yvette arellanos friend jen asks about sex porn
Yvette previously gave him rave reviews, however vague, to her friends, so they ask how he even knew what to do. Jen asks a natural but over-the-line question, which is whether Mohamed learned what to do from porn.

6. Mohamed is clearly scandalized and offended

Mohamed abdelhamed no one never would ask this kind of questions
He says that he would be shocked if anyone for any reason discussed this in his community in Egypt. Of course, he’s on a reality show, he’s experiencing a different culture, and Jen is a sex therapist who is accustomed to very direct relationship conversations. But even in America, blunt discussions of sex and porn usually take place between trusted friends who are both comfortable with the topic, not with strangers. Usually.

Shaeeda Sween Nearly Stranded Beside Highway After "Tapping" Bilal Hazziez on 90 Day Fiance (Recap)

90 Day Fiance Season 9, Episode 6 took some dramatic shifts from earlier episodes of the season.

Following days of Bilal’s weird head-games, Shaeeda found herself in hot water once again.

This time, however, Bilal was right, and this difference almost led to a relationship-breaking moment.

Biniyam wakes up for his first morning in America, but between his work goals and a day trip to New York, he and Ariela aren’t seeing eye-to-eye.

Miona and Jibri’s mom both think that the other is being “fake,” while Jibri feels like his mom is “testing” Miona and taking things too far.

Guillermo and Kara’s sit-down with friends reveals some mutual insecurities about each other and their relationship.

Patrick takes Thais home, and things go well until the next morning starts off with a disaster.

Finally, Yvette finds out the hard way that Mohamed has a surprise list of “rules” that he wants her to follow to make him feel “comfortable.”

1. Bilal Hazziez and Shaeeda Sween

Bilal hazziez and shaeeda sween discuss house rules
It’s funny the little overlaps that show up between couples. These two begin the episode by discussing rules and coffee, two topics covered by other couples. Shaeeda and Bilal continue to misuse the term “OCD,” which is a specific diagnosis, while describing his extremely strict ideas about how his home should look and who should do what, and where, in his house. In other words, it is a revelation to Shaeeda that she’s even permitted to drink coffee outside of the kitchen.

2. Mostly, Shaeeda is just anxious

Shaeeda sween is anxious before going to the masjid for jumah
She is going to the Masjid with Bilal for Jum’ah, something that Bilal very clearly explains to the camera, aimed at a Christian (and culturally Christian) audience who might be unfamiliar. For Shaeeda, what’s new about this is meeting people in Bilal’s community, including his ex-wife.

3. He tells her to not be nervous

Bilal hazziez pranks shaeeda sween with mucus claim
Bilal then gives her one of his “pranks” … claiming that she has an unsightly mass of mucus visible in one of her nostrils. She does not have that, and she knows it, and it’s not helping her anxiety.

4. Nooooo

Shaeeda sween gives bilal hazziez a tap on his head
Shaeeda reacts with a “tap” on the back of Bilal’s head. There are two issues here — the first being that this kind of contact, however gentle, is hitting, which is not something that you do to your partner (or anyone else) without their consent. Different people have different communication styles and some are fine with elbow-nudging and playful smacks, and others are not. The second issue is that Bilal is driving.

5. It goes from bad to worse

Shaeeda sween playfully ignores bilal hazziezs boundaries
As calmly as possible, Bilal tells Shaeeda that what she’s doing is not okay, which for some reason causes her to fragrantly violate the boundary that he has just set. He warns her that this is (obviously!) unsafe to do to a driver. Even if we imagine that literally everyone in Trinidad is totally okay with her hands-on behavior, cars work the same way where she’s from.

6. He warns her to not do this again

Shaeeda sween ignores warning taps bilal hazziez again
Shaeeda responds … by doing it again, “tapping” (as she calls it) Bilal on the back of his head right after he told her that, if she did it again, he would pull over to the side of the road and have her Uber the rest of the way there.

Kobe Blaise Wants Emily Bieberly’s Breasts All for Himself on 90 Day Fiance (Recap)

90 Day Fiance Season 9 marches on, with Episode 5 giving viewers some beautiful reunions … and potential new villains.

Kobe has just met his son for the first time, but decided to call out where Emily feeds him — and that she does it at all.

Ariela and Biniyam touch down in the United States, but a generous gift from Ari’s parents may turn into a burden on their family.

Bilal has a new test for Shaeeda, and it involves his children.

Guillermo is finally reunited with his and Kara’s dog and meets Kara’s family — and he’s so adorably nervous about the whole thing.

Thais introduces herself to viewers, revealing that there are big things that neither Patrick nor her father know yet.

Mohamed’s first morning in America doesn’t go at all like he imagined, because Yvette has to go to work.

1. Emily Bieberly and Kobe Blaise

Kobe blaise tells emily bieberly this is not normal
After warm celebrations, Emily sits down to pump some milk. After spending a couple of days picking up Kobe, Koban probably ran through a good bit of what she had already pumped. But Kobe decides to call her out, claiming that this is “not normal.”

2. He thinks that she should nurse and pump elsewhere

Emily bieberly where am i supposed to go downstairs
Every now and then, there’s a viral social media post about a woman getting shamed for breastfeeding somewhere — on a park bench, in a museum, that sort of thing. In each case, the bad guy is demanding that she go elsewhere, or “cover up,” or both, and is almost universally dragged by the collective internet. Kobe is taking that even further, suggesting that Emily should pump elsewhere even though she is in her own home.

3. Kobe says that women are more “discreet” in Africa

Kobe blaise in africa women will be a little more discreet
Africa is a sprawling continent full of various languages, cultures, and traditions across more than 50 countries. I’m not going to try to whitesplain away Kobe’s observations, but as many 90 Day Fiance fans can attest, numerous viewers who are from Africa have already taken to social media to say that Kobe’s experience is not theirs, and that, in their cultures, breasts are less sexualized and therefore breastfeeding is less stigmatized. Of course, all of that may be moot, as Emily and Koban — and now Kobe — are not in Africa right now.

4. There’s more to it than just where and when

Kobe blaise how youre gonna have to like stop him
Kobe’s suggestion that Emily breastfeed elsewhere was already unreasonable, but he is also expressing a desire for Emily to simply stop breastfeeding their son altogether. According to Kobe, he brought this up even before coming to the United States. He says that his sister stopped nursing her baby at 7 months, and that he’s never known anyone to breastfeed past 10 months.

5. Well …

Cameroon child malnutrition deaths 38 percent under age 5
Almost every health organization on the planet, including Cameroon’s government, recommends breastfeeding until 2 years if not longer. More than one-third of child deaths before the age of five in that country are related to malnutrition, with other children having growth stunted. International studies have noted that there are challenges, including cultural resistance, to breastfeeding programs in Cameroon. While breastfeeding is not an option for everyone and not a fix-all solution, it is possible that Kobe is unfamiliar with the health benefits that Koban is receiving. (And, more to the point, we’re talking about a toddler and his mom — the only people who should be part of this decision)

6. Kobe has his own motive

Kobe blaise i have to suck her breasts
He is unwilling to “share” Emily’s breasts, and says so pretty directly. We’re not kink-shaming Kobe (or anyone else), and we can only speculate about what questions producers may have asked to get him to say this, but it’s a little weird to put yourself into an imaginary competition with your kid.

Ariela Weinberg Blindsided by Parents: I Have to Pay Rent and Bills?!

On last weekend’s 90 Day Fiance, Ariela and Biniyam left Ethiopia after one final clash with his sisters, Mimi and Wish.

The plan is to live in New Jersey, in an apartment very close to where Ari’s family lives.

Excitement over their arrival is dampened somewhat when her parents drop a bombshell on her and Bini.

They’ve set up the apartment, but Ari will have to start covering the rent and bills very quickly … on an apartment that she didn’t pick out herself.

In this sneak peek clip ahead of Season 9, Episode 5, a very fatigued Ariela Weinberg and Biniyam Shibre are still recovering from their long flight.

They’re at the apartment with Ariela’s parents, Janice and Dr. Fred Weinberg, which is a very short distance from the family home.

Janice explains that the apartment has a deposit paid, is already hooked up with cable and wifi, and the first month’s rent is already covered.

Janice blindsides Ari, however, when she says that they will need to talk about when Ariela and Bini can start picking up the tab — in the next few months.

“You have to work out a plan for your own sustainability, to lead a life you want to lead,” Fred reasons.

He does emphasize: “We definitely want to help.”

On the one hand, that is a totally reasonable thing on its own — Ariela’s parents are being generous, but want Ari and Bini to be reasonably independent.

Even so, someone choosing an apartment that they will have to pay for would pick a cheaper option … and wouldn’t give themselves a massive cable bill each month.

Ariela admits that, if it were up to her, she’d have picked a cheaper apartment, and feels like she’s been handed a bill for something that she didn’t order.

“This is a big stress on us right away,” Ari expresses.

She explained: “getting the two-bedroom, the expensive apartment, the expensive place and with the expensive cable and everything.”

“And then,” Ariela continues, “telling us, ‘Oh, by the way, you have to pay for all of it so get a job really fast.'”

“I mean, we have no idea what the future holds,” Ariela admits.

She affirms to the camera that she is of course grateful for her parents and aprpeciates the help.

But she knows that, with Biniyam unable to work for many months (until he gets his work visa) and her unsure what job she can get, this isn’t very realistic.

“Bini and I have only a few thousand dollars to last us in the U.S.,” Ariela reveals.

“The immigration process is expensive and, you know, we moved countries,” she points out.

Ari adds: “It’s day one and we already have to face this financial stress.”

“Bini and I had the expectation that when we get to America, everything would be different and new and exciting,” Ariela admits.

“And it would be a chance to work on our relationship,” she reasons, “spend time as a family, and start over again.”

“But, I think neither of us really know long-term how we’re going to provide for the family,” Ariela confesses. “And it’s really scary, like, what if this doesn’t work out?”

Ariela Weinberg and Wish Shibre Share What REALLY Happened at the Airport

On last weekend’s episode of 90 Day Fiance, Ariela had one final clash with Biniyam’s sisters before the couple left Ethiopia.

This time, the conflict was indirect, but it still looked like Ari was giving them the cold shoulder, and Bini’s sisters were sobbing.

But Wish says that the reason that they were crying was different than what viewers may assume.

And Ariela has her own piece of the puzzle to add.

On Season 9, Episode 4 of 90 Day Fiance, Ariela Weinberg and Biniyam Shibre set off for New Jersey.

Viewers have followed the engaged couple on two seasons of 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way, witnessing the birth of baby Aviel, their engagement, and a whole lot of problems.

While this trip is almost indisputably the best thing for Bini and Ari’s relationship, his sisters fear that it is the worst thing for him.

Mimi Shibre - don't be naive. just take care of yourself

Even before Bini headed to the airport, he met with concerned family.

His sisters, Mimi and Wish, encouraged him to be smart and to not be “naive” or foolish.

They fear that he will get his heart broken, as he was once before, when a different American woman had his baby but later divorced him.

Biniyam Shibre - pray for us (reunion with firstborn)

His family hopes, however, that Biniyam’s trip to the United States will do more than just save his relationship with Ariela.

(Biniyam’s time in Ethiopia, both with and without Ari, was filled with so many incidents of alleged cheating and otherwise bad partnership that a split seemed almost inevitable)

Bini’s ex-wife, Bria, lives in the United States with their son, Simon.

There have been a lot of claims made on social media about the truth of Simon’s custody situation.

Some believe that Bria all but kidnapped their son. Others have claimed to know for a fact that Bini signed away his own parental rights.

All that we know for certain is that Biniyam has not seen his firstborn in years, and has been deeply affected by losing his family.

Wish Shibre - we also wanna say bye to Avi

At the airport, we saw Wish and Mimi arrive with other family.

Biniyam’s niblings hugged and kissed him goodbye.

And his sisters were eager to say goodbye to little Avi.

Wish and Mimi Shibre - is she willing to let us kiss the child?

Ariela remained in the van with Avi during that farewell, largely because her last encounter with the sisters had ended with a face full of wine.

Wish and Mimi asked if they could kiss Avi goodbye.

While Ariela privately told Bini that Avi was settled into his car seat, she didn’t deny the sisters permission to kiss him goodbye.

Ariela Weinberg affirms that Bini's sisters can kiss Avi

Instead, as we oh-so-briefly heard Ariela say, the sisters could come kiss Avi goodbye while he remained seated in the van.

She acknowledged that their behavior had been over-the-top, but affirmed that they could kiss him goodbye.

(Again, we’re talking like 24 hours at the most since the wine-throwing incident)

Biniyam Shibre - Avi is sleeping

Based upon what we saw, it doesn’t look like Biniyam relayed the full message to his sisters.

Maybe he was trying to avoid further conflict. We don’t know what he was thinking.

All that we do know is that Bini told them that Avi was sleeping … which they interpreted as Ariela denying them a farewell with baby Avi.

Mimi Shibre - we feel she is evil

Mimi did not mince words when speaking to the camera about how she feels.

“We feel she is evil,” she declared.

Those are harsh words — even from the women who spoke repeatedly about their newborn nephew being condemned to literal eternal hellfire.

Mimi Shibre - he is naive

The sisters continued to express serious concerns about Biniyam’s happiness and overall well-being.

While Ariela has caved to Bini on most disagreements while in Ethiopia, clearly his siblings worry that the opposite will be true in New Jersey.

Instead of being surrounded by his family, he’ll be surrounded by hers. He knows them, but how will he adapt?

Biniyam Shibre and Ariela Weinberg and Avi on a plane

Those are all fair questions, but to hear a couple of the cast members themselves tell it, we’re not getting the full story.

Ariela took to Instagram to emphasize that she did not deny Wish and Mimi a chance to say goodbye to Avi.

She knows that the show’s editing tries to present her in a certain way, but she’s horrified by family being cut off from each other and would never do that.

Ariela Weinberg IG explains airport farewell

Then, Wish had her own side of things to share on her own Instagram Story.

Wish explained that her tears, and Mimi’s, were partially taken out of context.

They weren’t just sad to see Bini and Avi go — they were also tearful because of a parting gift to their brother.

Wish Shibre IG explains tears, Simon's baby shoes

“We were not crying over a grown man moving somewhere else,” Wish wrote.

“We had kept his first son’s [Simon] shoes from when he was [little],” she explained, “and we decided to surprise gift it to him as a leaving gift.”

That sounds heartbreaking. Whatever the true circumstances of how Biniyam came to part ways with Simon, that is emotionally devastating.
