Viewers saw Darcey Silva and Georgi Rusev become engaged on Season 3 of Darcey & Stacey.
But all good things must come to an end.
Also, so did this engagement.
On Monday, February 28, Darcey announced that they have split.
Darcey Silva opened up to Entertainment Tonight about what must have been a painful decision.
“It was a decision that I made personally for myself,” she stated.
Darcey affirmed that this was also a choice that she made “for my daughters,” Aniko and Aspen.
“And I took a stand,” Darcey explained, “because I felt like the relationship wasn’t moving in the right direction.”
She continued: “From that point of being engaged.”
Darcey then specified: “which happened in the summer, mind you, the tell-all was in wintertime.”
“So there had been some time,” Darcey characterized.
“And,” she added, “communication still wasn’t going well.”
Darcey vaguely expressed: “There was a lot of things that just weren’t where they should have been.”
Darcey explained that she knew that she had to take “accountability” when it came to the engagement to Georgi.
“I just felt like for me, I needed to walk away,” she noted.
“And once it left my mind,” Darcey added, “my body followed.”
“And I hit my limit with him,” Darcey stated.
That is understandable.
The two have been through a lot. This isn’t even their first breakup.
During Season 1, Darcey introduced Georgi to viewers, who had previously only seen him in blurry photos shared on social media.
The two of them had chatted online (Georgi being from Bulgaria) before meeting up in February of 2020.
That time of the year got very complicated very quickly for a lot of relationships. In their case, they simply moved in together after a few weeks of dating.
Georgi proposed to Darcey in June of 2020, after just four months of in-person dating.
Darcey praised his energy, his demeanor, and his inner “fire” that summer.
She was, at the time, excited to see where their relationship was headed.
Of course, at the end of the show’s second season, the engagement ended — and so did their relationship.
Darcey and Georgi eventually mended fences and got back together.
90 Day Fiance fans are all too familiar with serial reconciliations … but Darcey is shooting down any speculation that it will happen again.
“If I continue to do that, it’s just going to keep happening, I feel,” Darcey explained on Monday.
“And I want to keep my heart open for the right person,” she reasoned.
Keeping a positive attitude, Darcey stressed: “I’ll just get back up.”
“I deserve much better,” Darcey affirmed.
“He was a great guy,” she said of her now former fiance.
“I just want to move on and heal,” Darcey expressed, “and I wish him the same.”
“I feel really excited for the future, I’m excited for where I’m at in life right now,” Darcey said.
“People have their moments, people have to grow and learn,” she added.
“And I think, I’m here to really just stay open and stay authentic and real to who I am as a person, and a wife to eventually the right person,” Darcey stated.
“So, I feel that you guys will see in the future, how that kind of plays out,” Darcey suggested.
“But I’m excited,” she affirmed.
Darcey concluded: “I’m excited for the next steps ahead.”
Darcey listed her reason for ending the relationship, but we have to point out that the timing seems suspicious.
Aaron Carter, former child star and teen singing sensation, had an ugly breakup from his own fiancee, Melanie Martin.
He recently claimed that she had left him only to hook up with the boyfriend of Darcey — of course meaning Georgi.
Now, Aaron Carter says a lot of things, and not all of those things are rooted in reality.
He has also dragged himself into the 90 Day Fiance narrative before, accusing his ex of fleeing to Larissa Lima’s ex-bestie’s house.
Darcey didn’t mention anything about cheating, but … announcing a split just days after that accusation was voiced? That’s a little weird.
It wasn’t that long ago that fans were reacting to the Darcey & Stacey Season 2 trailer.
Now, that season is at an end … but Season 3 is only a few months away.
Ahead of the Silva sisters’ third season, there is already a teaser trailer promising a first look.
What kind of mess has Darcey gotten herself into this time?
A lot of the recent drama has had to do with Darcey Silva and fiance Georgi Rusev.
A lot of suspicions and even a soft breakup defined their second season, to say nothing of ill-advised contact with exes.
Season 3’s teaser is actually hinting at a decided change in focus.
As this teaser begins, Darcey’s daughter is following in her mother’s footsteps.
Aniko is competing in a pageant, and she has plenty of help and advice as she goes about it.
We’re sure that Aniko will do well. She is a beautiful young woman.
Speaking of looks, Darcey and Silva are busy promoting their fashion line.
One of the perks of reality stardom (a key incentive, really) is the opportunity to promote your brands and others and make a profit.
The Silva twins are more than aware of this.
“Darcey and I are the face of our own brand,” Stacey observes in the teaser.
“We’re gearing up,” she says.
Stacey shares that they are, at that time, “getting ready for our fashion show.”
Naturally, we see Darcey applying spray tan to the bare torso of a hunky model.
Then, we see the twinks and Aniko out on a boat.
Darcey openly asks: “Oh boy, what did I get myself into?” without any clear context.
A teaser trailer is just that, a teaser.
We get even less context and coherent scenes than a normal, full-length trailer would have to offer us.
But we can make inferences from this trailer.
For one thing, we do see bits of Florian Sukaj in the trailer.
We don’t see Georgi.
Considering how Season 2 ended … that might not be a surprise.
After all, the second season finale showed Darcey instructing Georgi to pack his bags and hit the road.
That could be the end of a (short) era for them.
But fans aren’t so sure if the breakup is real.
We don’t mean that it was “scripted” (90 Day Fiance and its innumerable brood of reality spinoffs do not have scripts).
Rather, fans are questioning how serious the on-screen split really was.
And frankly, they all know that Darcey breaking up doesn’t always “stick,” if you know what we mean.
It’s possible that Georgi does not show up in this trailer because he has truly taken his hunky bod and nice hair to greener pastures.
That would make sense, because the show is about the twins and their families and love lives, not really about their exes.
It wouldn’t preclude Georgi from appearing on The Single Life, though. Just saying.
At the same time, the teaser would want to give away as few spoilers as possible.
So showing Georgi would be a dead giveaway that he returns to Darcey’s life.
Upcoming trailers might show more, and if they do, we’ll know soon … because Darcey & Stacey returns in January of 2022!

We have all watched Darcey Silva become entangled with toxic men.
Jesse was untrustworthy and manipulative. In many ways, Tom was cut from the same cloth.
Is her fiance Georgi just using Darcey so that she’ll spoil him like a boy toy?
At the end of Season 1 of Darcey & Stacey, Georgi Rusev proposed to Darcey Silva.
They are engaged, for better or for worse, despite some uneasy moments and a soft breakup before her trip to Tureky.
Just two days later, the premiere of Season 2 showed Darcey in tears. It has not been an easy romance.
Viewers have picked up on a number of alarming red flags from Georgi.
Even Darcey’s harshest critics have raised questions about whether Georgi truly loves her as he claimed.
Does he have an ulterior motive? Is he just using her for fame and comfort?
When the COVID-19 pandemic struck in early 2020, Georgi of course had to quit his job.
He worked as a masseur in the DC-Maryland-Virginia area but, like so many, could not work at the time.
Georgi traveled to Connecticut with the intention of living with and proposing to Darcey.
Georgi has not worked — outside of filming for reality TV — since then, as far as anyone can tell.
While no one blames him or anyone else who lost their job to the pandemic … he has been living off of Darcey.
We’ve seen Darcey take care of his expenses, even when Georgi kept money.
Georgi stashed $1,400 in cash in a sock … something that made Darcey wonder if he was making off with her money.
A quick look at Georgi’s prices explains how he made that money.
Georgi charged $150 for a 1 hour massage and $230 for 2 hours … but does not seem to have transplanted his business to Connecticut.
So Georgi moved away from where he worked and doesn’t seem to have any plans to resume work.
And why would he?
Darcey is attending to his every need.
Georgi asked Darcey to buy him thousands of dollars in designer clothing, as viewers saw.
The kicker was that this was not just during COVID lockdown, but on Darcey and Stacey’s shared birthday.
At the time, only a few people could go into the store at a time, so he just waited for Darcey to return with his clothes.
Stacey thought that it was beyond weird for Georgi to make their birthday all about him.
The rest of the family agreed, seeing it as a red flag.
Not being employed could happen to anyone at any time. But … why go on a shopping spree with someone else’s money?
Georgi’s expensive tastes may be explained by his ex-wife, Octavia.
She warned Darcey that she met him when they were both using a “Sugar Mama” website.
Octavia told her that Georgi will always be closed off as he is now, and advised her to leave him.
Georgi has denied this, but … what is that worth, exactly?
Meanwhile, Darcey and Stacey’s friend Debbie says that Georgi has labeled Darcey and everyone in her orbit as “American Trash.”
His plan, rumor has it, is to stick with Darcey until the money runs out … and then ghost.
That said … maybe there’s another side to Georgi.
After all, we recently saw his conversation with Jesse Meester end with Georgi dissing Jesse and actively defending Darcey.
It is possible that Georgi is misunderstood. Just a super hot misunderstood dude with expensive taste.
We have all seen how Darcey Silva’s trust issues with Georgi Rusev have endangered their relationship.
Those of us who watched her struggles on 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days understand why she is this way.
But Georgi is grasping for answers and wondering if there’s any way forward with Darcey.
So he reaches out to her most infamous ex, Jesse Meester … who has quite a story to tell.
While the titular stars of Darcey & Stacey go to Turkey to get total makeovers, Georgi Rusev is left uncertain.
(Or left without a storyline and needed to film himself doing something other than brooding handsomely)
On Season 2, Episode 8 of the show, we saw him grimly contemplating how Darcey had reached out to his ex behind his back.
Georgi had given Darcey the cold shoulder before she had left, acting as if they might be over.
On camera (still at their shared residence), however, he can’t get her out of his head.
His need to trust her (and for a storyline) drives him to do the unthinkable — reach out to her ex, Jesse Meester.
Georgi video chats with Jesse Meester, one of the most widely disliked 90 Day Fiance villains of all time.
Genuinely, it’s rare to get the level of dislike that people feel towards this guy on the show.
Most of the stars this broadly hated by fans are women and especially women of color, but Jesse is just … difficult to like.
Fans were pissed that Jesse got screen time on Darcey & Stacey, even if it was just in a video chat.
Georgi explained the reason for which he was dancing with the devil.
Ostensibly, the call was to compare notes on Jesse’s experiences while dating Darcey.
Even Georgi admitted that it was weird, though.
Speaking to the camera, he acknowledged that he’d heard so much about Darcey’s toxic exes.
Seeing Jesse and talking to him about the woman he loves, whom Jesse hurt so badly, was beyond awkward.
Georgi spoke to Jesse about trust issues of Darcey’s.
(Trust issues that Jesse helped to enforce, by the way)
He quickly confirmed that he’d had at least some similar experiences to Georgi’s.
Jesse described how he would hand Darcey his phone so that she could “check” it.
This refers to toxic relationship dynamics where one snoops on the other’s electronic history.
With permission is better than without, but it’s still creepy and unsettling.
Georgi was stunned, because Darcey also does this to him.
This helped him to understand that, for better or for worse, this isn’t just about how Darcey views him.
Her insecurities are so ingrained that it’s part of who she is.
Jesse shared that he had something to tell Georgi.
He initially claimed that he was reluctant to relay it because it wasn’t his “place” to tell Georgi.
Just kidding — he almost immediately skipped past his hesitation and told all.
According to Jesse, when Darcey was dating him, she cheated on him.
This is because, he claimed, she had started dating someone else without telling him.
That someone was her other famous on-screen ex, Tom Brooks.
According to Jesse’s account, Darcey was two-timing them both.
She was cheating on Jesse by dating Tom.
And she was cheating on Tom by continuing to secretly date Jesse.
According to Jesse, he and Tom compared notes, including date stamps on messages.
He doesn’t go into a lot of detail here, however.
Georgi is stunned … and incredulous.
Here’s the thing:
Georgi knows Darcey pretty well by this point.
He is the first to acknowledge that, at times, she can be “difficult.”
But that huge understatement doesn’t mean that she’s necessarily a cheater.
More to the point, he knows how Jesse treated her during their miserable, toxic romance.
By the end, Georgi acknowledges, there was no relationship there to betray.
Georgi doesn’t fully regret reaching out to Jesse, because it reinforces what he already knew: Jesse is full of s–t.
Additionally, he hopes that Darcey will see how willing and eager exes are to lie.
Maybe she will ignore Octavia as he ignored the wild claims by Jesse.
