So much went down at a memorably messy 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days Tell All.
Season 5 is over, and we know that at least some of these couples will return to the franchise.
But … some major questions are still unresolved.
Fans across social media are abuzz with queries, and we’ve compiled some of the most frequently asked questions … and may be able to help with answers.
Gino allegedly slid into Jessica’s DMs. Memphis straight up disappeared.
Mahogany’s fake apartment wasn’t explained. Did Johnny follow through on his flight plans?
And why was the entire cast Team Mike when viewers are much more divided over him?
During Part 1 of the Tell All, Shaun Robinson asked Gino if he had messaged anyone else from the cast.
She — and Jasmine — gave him every opportunity to confess, but when Gino is under pressure, he denies everything, no matter how transparent the lie.
Naturally, the Tell All shared DMs showing Gino messaging Ben’s friend, Jessica, who quickly shut down any possible flirtation.
Though the DMs shown clearly imply that Gino is the one reaching out, Gino claimed at the Tell All that Jessica had reached out first.
That seems … unlikely, for a host of reasons.
Regardless, this led to open feuding between Jasmine and Jessica, with the former lashing out at the latter due to insecurities.
Gino claimed to have deleted his DMs and to therefore be unable to prove his ridiculous claim.
Jessica offered to show her DMs to the camera, but viewers didn’t see that.
Maybe she did, and the show aired their edited screenshot (above) instead of trying to make us read a screen-via-screen-via-screen set of DMs.
Up next, what is going on with Memphis?
Memphis and Hamza were easily the best-looking couple at the Tell All, and the only ones who were physically on stage together.
They are married, have welcomed a child together, and seem to have everything going for them.
But during the Tell All, Memphis abruptly got up and left, explaining that she was sick.
Hamza remained behind at the request of production, but viewers didn’t hear from Memphis.
We all know that they likely filmed for another season already, so was this planned to avoid spoilers … or something else?
Rawia, Hamza’s sister (and a fan favorite), took to Instagram to share a number of things, vaguely implying that something is up with Memphis.
She also shared that she and her mother, Hayet, had been prepared to participate in the Tell All, only to not be called upon after Memphis left. What happened?
Maybe Memphis really was sick (that’s the most likely explanation). Or maybe there are things that no one is ready to discuss just yet.
There was so much that was covered about Ben and Mahogany.
We saw scenes from their season, we saw never-before-shown footage (and Mahogany feeling betrayed by it).
Viewers were even treated to Jessica, Ben’s friend, telling him exactly what she now thinks of him.
Jessica called Mahogany a “victim” and Jasmine said that Ben gave off a “pervert vibe.”
But there are still questions about Mahogany … and that super fake looking apartment.
What was the deal with the most staged, transparently not-hers apartment that we’ve ever seen?
It really wasn’t addressed enough on the show, and even less so on the Tell All.
Now, maybe Ben and Mahogany did go into it but their answers didn’t fit on the Tell All.
Or maybe Ben’s interview answer, given earlier this year, was meant to be enough.
Earlier this year, as the season aired, Ben tried to justify the apartment.
He claimed that Mahogany really did live there for a while.
Maybe he was trying to cover for her. Maybe he’s even more gullible than viewers thought. It’s hard to say.
Ella and Johnny had an uncomfortable season, with a lot of tears and zero payoff — because they never got to meet up.
At the Tell All, Johnny promised that he was coming in February, and had already purchased his ticket.
The Tell All was filmed in January of this year, however, one month ahead of that trip.
Ella and Johnny cannot see the future, and neither can Shaun Robinson, so none of them at the time knew where things are headed.
There have been no photos of the two together shared on Instagram.
That could be due to the NDA for Season 5 … or even beyond that.
Ella Johnson will return to the franchise on 90 Day Diaries.
Perhaps we will get to see her and Johnny meet up in person. Perhaps not.
We’d love to have seen her on another season of a more prominent spinoff, but maybe production wasn’t willing to take the chance that Johnny would back out again.
A lot of viewers are totally weirded out over how universally Team Mike the cast was.
Sure, earlier this season, it seemed like Ximena was just disgusted by him but not breaking things off because of the benefits of dating him.
But even those of us who didn’t see Mike’s disgusting racist social media history saw an ugly side of him on screen.
Mike swore at Ximena, insulting her and insulting her family.
He also strongly gave off the vibe that he felt that he could “buy” Ximena and her love, at one point even refusing to leave her home because he paid the rent.
No amount of money gives you ownership of a person, and a gift is just that — a gift, not a conditional tool to hold over someone’s head. Mike was being gross.
It’s possible that Mike’s castmates had only seen certain sides of their conflicts, because this was filmed in January.
Clearly, they were given footage from later in the season to watch, but it must have been a highlight reel — not a dozen or so hours.
If that’s the case, then production picked those edits to share because they wanted the cast to be Team Mike, possibly to build up hype for his and Ximena’s next season.
During the 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days Season 5 Tell All Part 2, all eyes turned to Ella Johnson.
Ella’s castmates slammed her, taking a harsher view of her alleged “cheating” than Johnny himself did.
After the Tell All aired, Ella revealed that she had not really cheated, confirming what some fans had wondered.
She also announced that viewers of the franchise will see her and Johnny again.
Ella Johnson straight up did not have a great time at the Tell All special, though she did affirm that it was worth it.
Several castmates arrived ready to beef with her, accusing her of cheating on Johnny, her long-distance boyfriend.
This stemmed from Ella’s on-screen confession to Johnny during the season.
After two years of constant delays and setbacks, Ella had told Johnny that further delays would mean something needing to change — an open relationship.
During a painful, tearful moment, Ella told Johnny that a friend had come over, and that the two had been intimate.
Johnny was hurt by this revelation, and some of her castmates called her out on the Tell All stage.
Ella and Johnny are still together, the couple reported at the Tell All.
She explained her hookup with the friend.
Not only was she uncertain that Johnny would ever actually come see her, but her love language is touch, and she needed physical affection.
Of course, Ella was in a room full of people who had been in long-distance relationships, some of whom still were (albeit, they had all met at least once).
Memphis suggested that perhaps Ella should not be in a long-distance relationship.
Sometimes, LDRs lead to extended periods without contact. People should be prepared for that going in.
Ella pointed out that she had owned up to her mistake.
She hadn’t tried to hide it from Johnny, and had tearfully confessed it to him over video chat, knowing that she was risking the relationship.
But Kimberly, who had come to the Tell All eager to call out Ella, did just that.
Declaring that she had no respect for Ella after the incident, Kimberly said that there’s no place for cheating in long-distance relationships.
(Weird that she specified “long distance” … are there relationships where cheating is more appropriate than others? Maybe?)
Ella, who notably had a bone to pick primarily with other women on the cast (and Ben only after he insulted her), said that her heart broke for Johnny.
Johnny expressed how he wished that he had never heard this news.
He did affirm at the Tell All that this doesn’t mean that he wanted Ella to lie to him, either.
But yes, he was hurt.
Jasmine possibly missed what Ella meant when she described her love language being “touch.”
Jasmine recommended “sexy time,” touching herself, or the use of sex toys (advice that Usman echoed).
A colorful, entertaining moment … but needing an orgasm and needing physical affection are not always the same thing.
Jasmine also asked a question that had been brought up by some fans.
Had Ella cheated … or had she told Johnny that she had cheated in order to make him jealous and encourage him to stop delaying his trip?
As much as Ella might have liked to take back the hookup, she had really slept with her friend.
Shaun spoke to Johnny, who confirmed that he was coming in “one month” — in February — and had bought the ticket.
This set the timeline for the Tell All being filmed in January.
Shaun then asked Ella if there had been any other indescretions since her hookup with her friend. Ella said no.
As it turned out, Ella might have been alone on her birthday had a friend not come to see her.
This friend, whom she had met on a dating site some time in the past, actually took a flight to visit her.
What’s more is that he stayed the night — in the guest bedroom.
Platonic houseguests are an extremely normal thing for most Americans, particularly those who are younger.
Someone flying in to town for one night, after meeting up on a dating site … is a little odd, and Johnny echoed that sentiment.
However, whatever the friend’s intentions, Ella explained that nothing untoward had happened.
Ella called up Johnny to ask how things were.
He affirmed that he did not blame her for how uncomfortable the Tell All was.
They are still together, and despite her struggles on stage, Ella shared at the end that she did not regret filming her season.
After Part 2 of the Tell All ended, Ella took to Instagram to speak up.
“I was a little disappointed in the tell all cast,” she admitted.
“But,” Ella pointed out, “I respected everyone and did not lash out.”
“However, I was attacked and unable to state that Johnny and I were in an open relationship,” Ella revealed.
She continued: “Second off we had never even meet so you can be upset and think I cheated. I don’t believe I did and neither did he.”
“Another tid bit the only person’s opinion that matters to me is Johnny,” Ella concluded. “If you want to follow us our journey will continue on 90 Day Diaries. Feel free to tune in.”
90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days Season 5 has officially and formally come to an end.
Part 2 of the Tell All special aired on Sunday, picking up right where the Tell All Part 1 left off — with Kimberly emotionally devasted by Usman.
Kimberly receives comfort and sympathy while Usman defends his call to Zara.
Up next, we get into the only couple who couldn’t meet up face-to-face, Ella and Johnny.
Ella defends having slept with a friend, and Johnny reveals that he has a ticket and is coming to see her — for real, this time.
Ben and Mahogany’s conversation ends up changing the mind of one of his closest friends, who now considers Mahogany a “victim.”
The main event is Mike and Ximena, however, and everyone on stage is Team Mike.
Oh yes, they’re back together, and she’s giving him another chance … but Ximena says plainly that she’s not in love with him.
Even during Season 5 of 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days, Ella got flack from fans.
During one painful moment, she confessed to Johnny that she had slept with a friend.
Ella was in tears, Johnny was hurt, and fans were fuming at Ella and calling her out.
At the Tell All, it was Ella’s castmates’ turn to excoriate her. Some also had some, ahem, advice.
Through this sneak peek clip for Part 2 of the Tell All special, we see Ella Johnson speak up for herself.
“I need it to be known,” she shared, that “my love language is touch.”
“And,” Ella pointed out, “two years is a really long time to have to wait.”
Ella isn’t wrong, and we should all keep in mind that Ella and Johnny didn’t set out to be apart for this long.
If it weren’t for the COVID-19 pandemic, Johnny would either have already come to see her in Idaho … or possibly would have found other excuses.
(We’re not accusing Johnny of anything, but after all of these delays, everyone has to consider the possibilities)
However, Ella is not the only one on stage who was in a long-distance relationship (since they all were).
“Then you shouldn’t be in a long-distance relationship if you’re that vulnerable,” Memphis explains.
“And,” she suggests, “don’t put yourself in that situation.”
“Me and [Hamza], you know, we have been away from each other for a long time, just like you,” Memphis notes.
“You have to do little things like the sexy time stuff to try to like keep that going,” she advises.
Memphis says that it’s important to keep the romance alive “because temptation is a you-know-what.”
Ella explains that there was more going on than just a moment of “temptation,” however.
“You know, for me, I didn’t think that he would come,” she admitted.
“And so,” Ella explained, “I thought it was over.”
“And like yeah, I know I f–ked up, I f–king owned it,” Ella noted, referring to her honest confession.
“Did I not f–king own it?” she asked, getting understandably defensive, affirming: “I owned it.”
Though her honesty is certainly a step up above some of her castmates, nobody was lining up to give Ella a medal, either.
“You’re so defensive right now,” Kimberly Menzies observed.
“But let me tell you something, okay?” she said. “If you’re in an international relationship, you don’t cheat.”
We are desperately curious to hear why Kimberly specified the “international” part, but she wasn’t done.
“I have zero respect for you for that,” Kimberly stated. She has had a beef with Ella since she arrived.
“And you can sit up here and say you have excuses all day,” she went on.
Kimberly continued: “You hurt that man and when I saw that on camera it broke my heart.”
“I’m a super sexual person,” Jasmine Pineda then affirmed. “I love sex.”
She recalled: “The first time I met Gino was after nine months.”
“And,” Jasmine characterized, “I was dying every single day to have sex with him.”
“If you’re, like, touch is so important to you,” Jasmine asked, “why are you gonna be in a long-distance relationship?”
She observed: “Like, I can see that Johnny is actually, like, really hurt.”
“Hey,” Jasmine suggested, “there’s so many other things that Memphis mentioned.”
Jasmine had some advice of her own: “Touch yourself. Use plastic.”
She then announced: “I use dildos, you know?”
“Buy a toy!” Usman Umar then chimed in, recommending the purchase of sex toys. “Buy toys!”
Season 5 is winding to a close and we’ve all seen the 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days Tell All Part 1.
Of all of the couples this season, only one could be together on the Tell All stage.
Some of them are playing details of their lives close to the vest — especially those who will be on future seasons.
But how many of them are really still together?
First up, let’s start with the easiest couple to address.
Memphis and Hamza stumbled a little early on in their relationship, as both needed to be more honest with the other.
They also have one of the biggest language gaps ever featured in this franchise, leading Memphis to use simplified language … and earning a “Cookie Monster” nickname.
Memphis and Hamza made it clear that there was more than “sexy time” between them, however.
After a lot of ups and downs and communication struggles, the two married in Tunisia.
Memphis arrived as Hamza’s girlfriend. She flew back to Michigan a married, pregnant woman.
Memphis showed up at the Tell All witha total glow-up, knockout look … and still together with Hamza.
She stood out among the other couples, as she and Hamza were the only ones who could physically sit together.
Everyone else, whether still “together” or apart, had one partner on the stage, one partner communicating through a screen.
Up next are Kimberly and Usman.
Usman has appeared on the show before, and he’s back again with yet another older American woman.
Kimberly did not want to be seen as a “superfan.” What she did want was yammy-yammy from Usman.
Despite initially treating her like a groupee — and not the kind that you sleep with — Kimberly got what she wanted.
He spent the night, they boned, and though Usman wouldn’t say “I love you” or kiss her in public, Kimberly was mostly happy.
But the season ended with her looking at a future of seeing him a few times a year, at most.
At the Tell All, Kimberly came prepared to defend her romance with Usman.
However, she was crushed when she — and her castmates — saw a clip of Usman calling and flirting with Zara.
Part 1 of the Tell All ended with Kimberly in tears … but no confirmation of a breakup has surfaced.
Caleb and Alina were a complicated couple, and not just because of their story.
The two met up in Turkey, as their friends-to-lovers story led to them meeting in person for the first time.
Though Alina’s disability gave Caleb pause at first, the two spent plenty of time in bed together.
Then, of course, Alina was fired, with the couple edited out of the rest of the season and disinvited from the Tell All.
Alina issued a public apology following her racism scandal.
Though many viewers noted that some of her critics were using a real wrongdoing in bad faith because they simply disliked her, it didn’t change her past misdeeds.
Though Alina and Caleb appear to have parted on good terms, it does not look like they are still together.
On what we saw, it looked like Caleb wasn’t prepared for a long-term romance with Alina in light of her disability.
Perhaps the ending that we saw months ago was misleading, but they are not at the Tell All to correct us.
Mike and Ximena started off as a very sweet couple.
Mike hasn’t been in a “real” realtionship since he was 14, while Ximena is a young mother of two.
The two met through Ximena’s cam work, where Mike offered to financially support her so that she could quit that job.
Despite some initial tender moments, the two turned out to be a toxic nightmare.
Ximena seemed to grow bored of Mike, picking both fair and unfair flaws … yet not quite going so far as to break up with him.
When Mike felt brokenhearted, he showed his ugly side, insulting Ximena and her family, and at one point refusing to leave her home.
Mike began to give the impression that he felt that supporting Ximena as a girlfriend meant that he owned her.
Hurt people say hurtful things, but that is not a side of Mike that many viewers will soon forget.
Add that to Mike’s racism scandal — in many ways worse than Alina’s, despite less backlash — and it was hard to feel sorry for him.
This toxic couple ended their engagement before the season ended, but a cliffhanger on the finale showed them threatening to reconcile.
On the Tell All Part 1, they confirmed that they’re back together, and there have been reports for months that Mike and Ximena filmed another season.
However, the two strongly hinted at another ugly breakup in February, and Ximena seems to already be with a new man.
Speaking of creepy men, up next, we have Ben and Mahogany.
Ben is in his fifties and believed that he was speaking to a 24-year-old, not to a 22-year-old.
Mahogany had tried to discourage Ben from coming, but he ignored her wishes and flew down anyway. This was the beginning of a pattern for him.
At first, Mahogany seemed like a total catfish, and viewers still aren’t sure what her whole deal is.
Ben dialed up his creepiness factor to new heights, repeatedly crossing her boundaries and using textbook manipulative tactics.
As the season ended, they were very much over, though at the Tell All, Ben confirmed that they had spoken the night before.
Ben and Mahogany were spotted in a mall in Lima, Peru several weeks ago, even photographed by a fan of the show.
Whether or not they were filming again, they were unwisely spending time in each other’s company months and months after Season 5 filming had wrapped.
We can’t explain his judgment or hers. Some people cannot stop making the same mistake.
Ella and Johnny were perhaps this season’s least eventful couple, as they did not get a chance to meet.
(It’s a real shame, and personally I hope that they can return for another season and meet up — they both deserve happiness)
Between the COVID-19 pandemic itself and the protections put into place, Johnny kept delaying meeting Ella, and each delay hurt more than the last.
Sometimes, even the most valid excuses in the world stop being enough after they’re used too many times.
Ella ended up sleeping with a friend, which she confessed to Johnny (for some reason, Kimberly was particularly furious with her over this).
It appears that they are still together (unless they say otherwise during Part 2), but have yet to actually meet.
Gino and Jasmine were one of the most bizarre and at times horrifying couples this season.
There is simply no excuse for how much screaming and betrayal viewers were forced to endure.
They both owe each other so much more than what they offered.
Gino leaked Jasmine’s nudes to his ex, simultaneously breaking Jasmine’s trust while proving that he’s hung up on his ex.
Jasmine would cry and scream and yell with little or no provocation — having meltdowns over the color of the walls of Gino’s house, which she has never visited.
The two ended up getting engaged despite a bajillion fights and other red flags, though Gino “forgot” to bring up a prenup.
At the Tell All, Gino declared that he had “decided” that he did not need a prenup.
Though Jasmine complained about him choosing to masturbate instead of give her his “meat,” which she craved, they are clearly still together.
Gino confirmed that they are in the K-1 visa process and that he hopes to bring her home to MIchigan soon.
90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days Season 5 is winding to a close.
On Sunday, April 3, we saw the season finale and Part 1 of the Tell All special. A double-feature!
The Tell All was an interesting one, as only one couple could physically be together on the stage.
Some members of the cast came ready to throw down with people they didn’t like.
Others were guarded, ready to defend themselves and their relationships against all comers.
During Part 1, Gino was caught in a painful lie and Jasmine shared new, disappointing details about their sex life.
Then, it was Kimberly and Usman’s turn in the spotlight.
Kimberly saw new-to-her footage that the rest of us saw on Sunday’s night.
In the face of Usman’s betrayal, she burst into tears and quietly stepped off of the stage.
On last weekend’s episode of 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days, Ella had a tearful confession for Johnny.
She had slept with someone else during the ever-growing wait to finally see him in person.
(To be fair, we all heard her warn him that she was not going to keep waiting)
However, some viewers are giving Ella grief, accusing her of being a manipulative cheater.
Ella Johnson’s romance with Johnny has, like many 90 Day Fiance couples, started out online.
Unlike most of them, it has stayed that way for years, with delay after delay keeping them from meeting in person.
In the back half of 2021, when they were filming their episodes of Season 5, Ella was ready to turn up the pressure to make their meeting happen.
A couple of weeks ago, viewers saw Ella talk to Johnny about her plans to meet him in Dubai.
He already had a ticket, but was wavering about going — due to COVID restrictions and the risk of catching the virus.
Ella purchased her own ticket to Dubai, paying $1,124 for it, hoping that this commitment on her part would encourage him to make the trip.
Ella’s gambit did not have the desired effect.
Johnny of course reiterated his love for her and his desire to see her in person.
But that was not enough in the face of all of the things — be they reasons or just excuses — that were holding him back.
Ella was pretty much accustomed to these delays and postponements by now. She’d had enough.
Tearfully, she told Johnny that she can’t keep waiting forever.
She let him know that she wouldn’t break up with him, but that if he didn’t meet her in Dubai, their long-distance relationship would have to be an open relationship.
Johnny understood that Ella is a human being with desires and needs.
But there was more than just cultural unfamiliarity with open relationships that made him worry.
What if she ended up meeting someone else, someone who was already there, and just forming a life with him, instead?
When viewers next saw them speak, Johnny was telling Ella what she already knew — that he was not coming to Dubai.
Instead, he suggested that they meet up in February of 2022 — seven months from then.
That massive delay was nothing new to their relationship, but that didn’t make it any easier.
Ella knew that she had to tell Johnny something then, and without delay.
A friend, she explained, had come over to hang out and provide her with emotional support.
That emotional comfort had turned physical, and she had slept with him.
It is, for the record, unclear if this was actually cheating, as some of Ella’s critics have accused.
(Was the open relationship in effect during this period? The timeline remains unknown)
This was hard to hear for Johnny.
Though he took the news reasonably well, it was still a shock.
He expressed his sorrow upon hearing it, but did not express much in the way of anger towards Ella herself.
Johnny even acknowledged his role in what had happened, because he had not done his part to meet her, not in Idaho or in Dubai.
After the call, Ella openly wept on camera while describing the pain of her loneliness.
This was one of those moments when, even though production was just doing their jobs, one wishes that they had stopped filming instead of continuing to ask her questions.
Ella should be pouring her heart out like this to a therapist, not to a production crew and not to millions of judgmental viewers.
There was a strong backlash from many fans of the show, who felt that Ella had definitely cheated (she may have).
They accused her of being selfish by demanding that Johnny take a flight when his reasons for not doing so during a global pandemic are very fair.
Additionally, they accused her of being manipulative — noting that she only revealed her sexual tryst after Johnny announced another 7-month delay.
However, despite the delays and all of the things that viewers have said, it looks like Ella and Johnny are still together.
This is just speculation, but not baseless, because Ella has continued to praise Johnny as her featured “man crush” even in recent weeks.
That would be surprising social media activity for exes, even on this show with its notorious NDAs.
If things don’t work out with Johnny, Ella may have to start from scratch after investing so many years in this romance.
Though Ella admitted that her dream man is Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho, there are plenty of very real people whom she could date. Yes, even in Idaho.
That’s only if things with Johnny don’t work out, of course. For what it’s worth, we wish them the best.

Realizing that Mike was on the verge of leaving, Ximena displayed a sudden — but only partial — change in attitude that had Mike very happy.
… For a little while, anyway.
It’s been a few weeks since 90 Day Fiance: Before The 90 Days viewers saw Ella and Johnny.
Their most recent episode was in February, when Ella warned him that she wasn’t going to wait for him forever.
Sure enough, the preview for next week’s episode included a confession: she had slept with a visiting friend.
Despite ample warning, Johnny seemed devastated. Do they have any hope for a future together?
Ella Johnson has not always been lucky in love.

When the two met up in Thailand, however, things fell apart.

This was emotionally devastating, as it would be to anyone, and was a major setback for Ella.
She has been hoping that Johnny, whom she loves, will be very different.
But Ella and Johnny have had a number of setbacks, largely due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Johnny’s fears are not irrational — this virus has killed millions, is airbourne, and could easily prevent him from seeing his family for months.
But whether they are reasonable or not, cold feet are cold feet. Ella knew that he needed a push.
When we last saw them, Ella spent a considerable amount of money to book tickets to Dubai.
Though Dubai’s laws in the areas of human rights would cause many to choose another location, Ella and Johnny could conceivably meet up there.
Ella’s hope was that buying the tickets herself, knowing that Johnny already had his, would be enough to motivate him to take the risk in the name of love.
Johnny — and not unfairly — characterized this as “American thinking,” saying that the risk was simply too great.
In some ways, the two are a microcosm for our two nations and their diametrically opposed responses to the pandemic.
As much as Ella loves Johnny and wants to see him, however, she knows that she cannot wait for ever, and she told him as much.
Simply put, Ella told Johnny that if he doesn’t meet her in Dubai, something will have to change.
It doesn’t mean that their relationship has to end, but it will have to change to an open relationship if it is to continue.
Why? Because she’s a human being with wants and needs, and has already invested years of extraordinary patience into this romance.
Setting this boundary may have been the best thing for Ella’s well-being, but it was not easy.
She doesn’t want an open long-distance relationship with Johnny, she wants to be with him.
It’s hard to yearn for this long. Honestly? Many people might have given up a long time ago.
Johnny met up with a friend of his, Wang, to share his fears that Ella will meet someone else and fall in love.
He is afraid of catching COVID, afraid of being separated from his family for many weeks, and afraid of losing Ella.
Wang advised him to go for it. All things considered, he has to face at least one of those fears no matter what.
The preview for next week’s episode showed Johnny’s fears spike.
On Season 5, Episode 13, Ella will tell him that a friend came over, and that the two ended up having sex.
While this sort of thing happens all of the time, especially in open relationships (which may be their status), it is hard for him to hear.
So what does this mean for their future?
Not everyone can handle an open relationship (just like not everyone can handle monogamy, or any kind of relationship), and Johnny seemed hurt in the preview.
For that matter, it’s been many months since all of this filmed in the back half of 2021. Have they split since then?
While the two cannot spoil things, Ella did post a “man crush Monday” post in February.
The crush in question was Johnny, and she did not shy away from her thirst.
While this could be a misleading throwback intended to string along followers (no doubt encouraged by production), that’s really not how people talk about their exes.
A safe bet is likely that Ella and Johnny are still together relationship-wise, but not physically together yet.
That could change. Honestly? So far, we’d be interested in seeing them return for another season.
We’ve found ourselves rooting for them, especially since Johnny is Ella’s perfect man — at least, her perfect man outside of anime.
During Ella’s first episode, she described her ideal man but could not name him or the show that he was from.
I reached out on Instagram hours after the episode aired to confirm that she was describing Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho.
We hope that things work out for Ella and Johnny, but if they don’t, does anyone have Kurama’s number?
