Colton Underwood: I Was Suicidal Before Coming Out as Gay

He was the first virgin in Bachelor history, and now Colton Underwood has confessed to being something else entirely:

The first gay man in Bachelorr history.

During an interview with Robin Roberts on Good Morning America, Underwood came out as gay on Wednesday, April 14.

Such a revelation may not have come as a complete shock to those who have closely been paying attention to his journey and yet… wow.

We salute Colton’s bravery and admire the raw honesty and vulnerability he displayed during this lengthy interview and discussion.

We’ve highlighted some of the main sections below, including the two words that have changed Colton’s life forever… how he feels about ex-girlfriend Cassie Randolph… and whether or not he’s actually dated a man just yet.

1. Speaking His Truth

Speaking his truth
Colton Underwood shocked Bachelor Nation in April 2021 when he came out and said two simple, albeit powerful words. The former ABC lead told Robin Roberts, “I’m gay.”

2. Should This Be a Total Shock?

No. In his memoir, Underwood admitted to Googling the question “Am I Gay?” back in high school and said he wondered about his sexuality because he played football… yet didn’t drink or have sex. And didn’t really want to do either of those things, either.

3. Why Did He Come Out Now?

The former Bachelor said that he was motivated to come out after getting “into a place with [his] personal life that was dark and bad,” telling Roberts: “I think overall the reason why now is because I got to a place where I didn’t think I was ever going to share this. I would have rather died than say, ‘I’m gay.'”

4. Did the Pandemic Play a Role?

Kind of. “Obviously this year has been a lot for a lot of people,” he added. “It’s probably made a lot of people look themselves in the mirror and figure out who they are and what they’ve been running from or what they’ve been putting off in their lives And for me, I’ve ran from myself for a long time. I’ve hated myself for a long time.”

5. Does He Regret Appearing on The Bachelor?

“Do I regret handling it the way that I did? I do. I do think I could have handled it better. I’ll say that.”

6. Underwood Was Suicidal Before Coming Out

“There was a moment in L.A. that I woke up, and I didn’t think I was gonna wake up. I didn’t have the intentions of waking up, and I did. I think for me that was, like, my, my wake-up call. Like, this is your life, take back control. Beyond that, [I had] even just suicidal thoughts. I’m driving my car close to a cliff, like, ‘Oh if this goes off the cliff, it’s not that big of a deal.’ I don’t feel that anymore.”

The Hills New Beginnings Trailer: What the Heck is Kristin Cavallari Doing Here?

Sometimes moving forward… means putting everything to the test.

So MTV tells viewers in the first trailer for The Hills: New Beginnings Season 2.

Released on Tuesday, the footage features veteran cast members trying to work through relationships — both new and old — as they also navigate COVID-19 restrictions and a very slowly-lifting lockdown in California.

Of note?

We witness Audrina Patridge revealing that she shared a smooch with newly-single Brody Jenner, who delves at one point into the reasons behind his highly publicized divorce from Kaitlynn Carter.

“Brody and I, we did kiss,” Patridge confesses in the trailer.

The preview also highlights tension between Heidi and Spencer Pratt… who are trying for a second baby while dealing with the stress that often accompanies such an endeavor.

It looks like there also may be some potential drama between Spencer and Jason Wahler, the latter of whom is continuing to work through his substance abuse issues, while awaiting the arrival of his second child.

We even see the consummate bachelor, Justin “Bobby” Brescia, ponder the possibility of a wife and children.

Crazy, right?!?

But not as crazy as this:

Kristin Cavallari is coming back!

This sneak peak depicts Kristin — who who appeared on the original series from 2009 to 2010, — stepping out of the car for a power walk, flipping her hair into place for her grand entrance.

The screen then fades to black and viewers hear a voiceover of the dramatic toast:

“To being reunited.”

Is Cavallari around to stir up trouble?

“No drama – at least not about me,” the Laguna Beach alum told Us Weekly earlier this month about her reprisal on the franchise, adding at the time:

“I filmed one episode, so what could you really do?”

We have no idea. But we’re about to find out, evidently.

Cavallari was a cast member on 23 episodes of The Hills during its original run and also told this tabloid that she had a blast with Audrina Patridge, Heidi Montag and Brody Jenner.

“I had such a great time. It was like no time had passed,” she admitted. “I’m really happy that I was able to do it.”

That said, Kristin added she has no plans to return full-time in any capacity to the reality TV world again, not any time soon at least.

The Hills: New Beginnings returns to MTV on May 12th at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 11: First, Bat$hit Crazy Look!

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 11 doesn’t premiere on Bravo until May 19.

But the first extended look at brand new episodes dropped on Monday and let this serve as a giant SPOILER WARNING for those who wish to be surprised.

You should really stop reading right now.

And you should definitely not watch the video featured on this page.

Because things are about to get CRAZY.

Kyle Richards, Lisa Rinna, Erika Jayne, Dorit Kemsley, Garcelle Beauvais and Sutton Stracke will all return for Season 11, while newcomers Crystal Kung Minkoff and Kathy Hilton will make their presences felt.

Big time.

For example, Erika gets interrogated in this trailer by her co-stars about her divorce from estranged husband Thomas Girardi amid his ongoing legal woes.

As celebrity gossip fans know, Erika filed for divorce back in November after 21 years of marriage.

A month later, Thomas’ assets were frozen as he faced a civil lawsuit accusing him of embezzlement.

This sneak peek begins with Erika telling her costars she did not see her marriage “ending this way,” adding that her plan was to “hold that man’s hand until he died.”

“Orphans and widows, it makes you feel sick,” says Dorit, before Kyle once again asks Erika how much she knew.

“No one knows the answer but him,” she tells them… prior to snapping at Sutton and telling her: “I am not a liar. You have a lot of f—ing nerve.”

“Don’t talk to me like that, seriously,” says Sutton, before Erika fires back: “Or what? Shut the f— up.”

Elsewhere, Season 11 promises more family drama for Kyle, who is sharing the screen with a different Richards sister (now Hilton matriarch).

After Kyle notes that she hasn’t been able to reach their sister, Kim, Kathy reveals the former cast member has changed her number, prompting a blindsided Kyle to reply with bewilderment and ask:

“She did?!?

Then there’s Lisa … who has a situation on the family front as well.

In the new footage here, daughter Amelia Hamlin informs Lisa she’s hanging out with Scott Disick. Like, in a romantic sense.

Weighing in on the relationship, Kyle exclaims, “He’s too damn old and he’s got three kids.”

“I know!” Rinna responds.

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 11 premieres Wednesday, May 19 at 8/7c on Bravo.
