The past year and a half have seen tremendous ups and downs for Ariela Weinberg and Biniyam Shibre.

It looked like they might split after Biniyam cheated on Ariela during baby Avi’s surgery trip.

Now it seems that they’re living together in America, with Ethiopia a distant memory.

But with a humanitarian crisis unfolding after a year of civil war, Ariela is reflecting upon her time there.

“I first arrived in Ethiopia in January 2017,” Ariela wrote on Instagram this week.

“I flew Ethiopian airlines from Israel,” she shared.

Ariela admitted: “I had vague notions of what it might be like in this new country.”

“Of course, I was wrong,” Ariela acknowledged.

“Ethiopia is hard to imagine if you haven’t been,” she added.

Ariela warned: “All the Nat Geo documentaries and googling won’t help much either.”

“After that first trip I just had to keep going back,” Ariela shared.

“There is something about the air that is different in Ethiopia,” she characterized.

Ariela described: “It hits me everytime I walk out the doors of Bole Airport.”

“I fell in love with a land and a culture,” Ariela expressed.

“Then I fell in love with a man,” she wrote, referring to fiance Biniyam Shibre.

“And now,” Ariela concluded, “I am falling in love every day with my baby Avi.”

On the show, which was likely filmed well over a year ago, we see Ariela and Biniyam in a very different place.

After weeks in Princeton, New Jersey for baby Avi’s surgery and recovery, Ariela called her fiance.

She was furious with him for turning their family home in Ethiopia into a party house, hiding Avi’s crib and partying with strange women.

Ariela’s suspicions of Biniyam were not irrational, but based upon ample evidence.

She had seen plenty of photos, as Biniyam’s pictures were sent to their shared iCloud and thus to her phone.

Additionally, others, including Bini’s friends and his own sister, Wish, had warned her about him being with other girls.

At the time, she presented him with two choices.

The first was that they would split, coparenting Avi as exes after drawing up a legally binding custody agreement.

The second was that they could try again, but not in Ethiopia where Biniyam surrounded himself with toxic influences.

That is why the next episode shows them meeting up, not in Addis Ababa where they lived, but in Kenya.

Apparently, despite seemingly making no efforts to be a good partner in the past, Bini did not want to lose Ariela.

We knew, late last year, that the couple had spent some time in Kenya. Now we have a clearer picture of why.

And, most recently, numerous reports have spied Ariela and Biniyam in and around New York and Maryland.

Ostensibly, Bini was here to participate in some sort of MMA tournament, but many believe that this was just part of the truth.

More likely, fans speculate, they are on their K-1 visa journey and have already completed it — almost certainly on camera.

On a much more serious note, there was another reason for why they left Kenya.

Biniyam’s toxic influences were real. Presumably, the cheating was, too.

But Ethiopa has been shaken by a year of civil war, beginning with civil unrest in Tigray.

Various rebel groups and the government that they are fighting have both been accused of perpetrating war crimes.

In particular, at least one rebel faction has allegedly been targeting ethnic minorities for violence and death.

The alliance of rebel factions claimed this week that they are months, or possibly only weeks, from taking Addis Ababa — the nation’s capitol.

“Ethiopia Needs Peace,” Ariela wrote on Instagram alongside a lengthy video on the subject.

“Please pray for Ethiopia! we need solutions,” she asked. “We need smart thoughtful people to work together.”

Ariela’s caption concluded: “We need to treat each other with respect and forgive one another. We need peace.”

After hearing Ariela Weinberg vow to never return to Ethiopia, fans wondered if it was over.

Biniyam Shibre had cheated after months of proving himself to be a bad partner and uninterested in changing that.

But as we are all keenly aware, Ariela sometimes changes her mind about even the most important decisions.

Now, Bini may have let slip that he and Ari are not only together, but living in the United States.

The briefest imaginable recap, before we go into detail later.

Throughout most of Ariela Weinberg and Biniyam Shibre’s on-camera romance, things have been one sided.

Ari moved to live with him, to give birth in his country, spends time with his family, and attends his religious gatherings — without reciprocation.

Then, when it was time for baby Avi to get his hernia surgery, Ariela took him to receive the surgery in Princeton, New Jersey.

It took weeks for the surgery to be scheduled, particularly with the COVID-19 pandemic as a factor.

During that time, Biniyam’s existing bad behaviors escalated, and he developed new bad habits.

First, Biniyam began to turn off his phone or put it in airplane mode.

Any time that he didn’t want to be reached by Ariela, he would make himself unreachable, for hours on end.

Combined with his late-night partying and clubbing, this made Ariela irate, particularly given their son’s condition.

But it’s not the case that Biniyam was “always out partying” … because he also turned their family home into party central.

Ariela saw photo after photo of people, including strangers and unfamiliar young women, in her home during her absence.

Furthering the violation, she saw that baby Avi’s crib was packed away and hidden.

Finally, Ariela’s suspicions about Biniyam’s behavior were confirmed by his friends and by his own sister.

Wish might not particularly like Ariela.

But even she clearly felt that she deserved to know that Bini was with other girls.

Biniyam’s ex-girlfriend and his ex-wife both accused him of cheating.

Now, it’s Ariela’s turn.

Biniyam has labeled all three women as “jealous,” but even if that’s true, the pattern is difficult to ignore.

After putting Bini on blast for “destroying” his family through neglect, cheating, and disrespect, Ari presented a choice.

The first was that they break up, ending their engagement and drawing up a legally binding custody agreement.

The second was that Ari and Biniyam try to start over and heal outside of Ethiopia, specifically in Kenya.

Biniyam adamantly did not want to move, arguing that all of his friends are in Ethiopia.

But that was sort of the point.

From side pieces to toxic influences among his friends, these were the people from whom he clearly needed distance.

In the preview for Season 3, Episode 11, Ariela and Biniyam were no longer a continent apart.

We saw them meeting up in Kenya.

This move previously been confirmed in interviews after their first season together ended, and only now playing out on screen.

Then, several months ago, reports came out that Ariela and Biniyam were spotted filming together in New York.

Bini participated in some sort of MMA tournament.

But as many noted, if he was there on a visa for that competition, the clock was ticking on him having to leave.

Over the weekend, however, that changed.

Biniyam took to Instagram to post a video that was clearly an ad, promoting enchiladas that allegedly have the same protein level as a protein shake.

Say what you will about Bini’s qualities as a partner, but he has a very good body and is a natural fit for this kind of endorsement.

But … enchiladas are not exactly a global food, and are much more common in North and Central America.

Enchiladas originated in Mexico, with aspects of the dish drawn from Nahua peoples before colonization, slavery, and genocide at the hands of the Spanish.

The Nahuatl word for the dish is chīllapītzalli, and they are not a traditional food in Ethiopia or in Kenya.

What’s more is that the brand that Bini is advertising is distinctly American.

(Honestly, they look delicious — I am definitely eating Mexican food today after watching Bini’s video)

Biniyam’s fans and followers were quick to comment that he had given away the game.

“I know you’re in the USA,” one wrote. “I’m happy you made it. Welcome.”

“I know you miss your meals from back home,” another acknowledged. “These are good, too.”

Some weirdos also tried to get on his case about eating what they called “boxed food.”

First of all, it’s an advertisement. There’s no indication that Bini eats these regularly.

Second of all, why wouldn’t he? Food is food. Don’t be a weirdo about what people eat.

Combined with multiple sightings of Bini over the summer, it seems likely that Biniyam received a K-1 visa.

Ariela had applied, but it had been delayed for months amidst the pandemic.

Bini may have faced multiple legal hurdles to get his visa, but it’s still unclear if he has it in him to become a good partner to Ari.

Things took a downward turn for Ariela Weinberg and Biniyam Shibre’s relationship on this weekend’s episode.

Ariela confronted her fiance about his partying and other bad behaviors during her absence.

She didn’t just stand up for herself, she actually accused Bini of cheating on her.

Is she right?

On Season 3, Episode 10, Ariela Weinberg took Avi in for surgery.

She hadn’t been able to do so as early as she had hoped, but the appointed day arrived.

She and Janice drove him there before dawn to get much needed surgery for an intestinal hernia.

At the hospital, Ariela seemed in good spirits after handing off Avi to the hospital staff.

Surgery on a baby is always serious, especially when it comes to anesthesia.

But despite her mother’s concerns, Ariela remained calm.

Janice feared that Ariela would have another panic attack, like she did on the day of Avi’s circumcision in Ethiopia.

But that day, Ariela was succumbing to pressure from Bini and from her own family to irreversibly alter her child’s genitals even though she knew better.

This time, she’s giving him helpful, necessary surgery that will improve his life for the better. So it’s the opposite of the previous experience.

Fortunately, baby Avi pulled through his hernia surgery just fine, and was precious and affectionate the next day.

It’s good that 90 Day Fiance‘s editors didn’t try to play this up as they have been known to do when the cast goes in for surgeries.

The last thing that we need is a cliffhanger over a baby’s health, even if we already know that he’s okay.

This of course proved to be a great time for Kristin to once again be the voice of reason.

She knows that Ariela loves traveling the world and has bent over backwards to please Biniyam.

But it’s time to get real about motherhood and make sure that Bini’s healthcare, education, and environment are the best that she can provide.

Speaking to the camera, Janice revealed that she had seen a different side to her daughter’s relationship in recent weeks.

With her, Biniyam had always been polite and conciliatory and largely respectful of her daughter as his partner and as the mother of his child.

With Ariela with her at home, she had seen the hours that Biniyam kept, the extended periods of time when he’d have his phone off, and more.

With all of that in mind, Janice got Ariela to promise that all of their healthcare needs, at least, would be met here at home.

But she wanted Ariela to seriously think about setting the long-term goal of living there, close to home, with Avi and Bini.

Ariela agreed that Biniyam has some toxic influences in his life, but suggested a move to Kenya instead.

However, speaking to Biniyam at a visibly later date, Ariela was in a much less happy mood.

He had been out partying, turning their house into a social hub — including strangers she’d never met, including random girls.

Biniyam had also been turning off his phone, despite multiple promises that he would not repeat this behavior.

Despite his protestations that him breaking his promises is somehow justified, Ariela actually stood her ground.

More than that, she told Biniyam that she had reached a decision:

She will not be returning to Ethiopia.

Obviously, Biniyam did not like this news, as it’s what his ex-wife did, also.

That said … one wonders if he had the exact same behavior with his ex as he did with Ari.

It’s not clear why Ariela waited this long to finally stand up to him, but she didn’t back down no matter how much he insisted.

Ariela didn’t just talk to Biniyam about how he’s treated her as a partner directly.

She also confronted him about his cheating, advising that he get tested.

Biniyam, of course, insisted that he has done nothing of the sort.

Here’s the thing: Ariela has seen Biniyam’s photos.

She didn’t have to snoop — he’s clearly on her phone plan, so they share an iCloud account.

His photos of partygoers and pretty ladies, and even some messages sent to the account, show up for her.

Ariela told him bluntly that she has no idea whom or what he’s been doing in Ethiopia beyond what she’s seen.

But his own sister, Wish, tipped her off about Biniyam hanging out with other girls.

Wish is no fan of Ariela — but clearly, Bini’s behavior crossed the line and she had to say something.

Biniyam insisted that Ariela couldn’t make this decision alone, that it was “disrespectful” in his culture.

That’s a bit much, since cheating is generally considered disrespectful in almost every culture.

But Ariela told him that he still has two choices.

The first option for Biniyam was the simplest: they end their relationship.

Biniyam could stay in Ethiopia and party however he wants. Ariela can live her life.

They would draw up a legally binding custody agreement to which to adhere and be only coparents.

The other option that Ariela presented was a way to keep their relationship while cutting out toxic influences.

This option would mean moving to Kenya together, something that Bini did not want to do because all of his friends are in Ethiopia.

But that’s kind of the point, because many of those friends — as we have seen — are hurting their relationship.

Based upon what we saw in the preview for next week, and in some of the sightings of the couple from a year ago, they took Option B.

It appears that they patched things up in Kenya, and (spoiler) the two have even been spotted in New York this year.

But … none of that answers the core question: Did Biniyam cheat on Ariela?

Obviously, Biniyam has denied it, while Ariela seems pretty certain.

Them getting back together doesn’t necessarily mean that he convinced her that he didn’t cheat.

That could just mean that she has questionable judgment and constantly gives in to his wishes … which we already knew.

Biniyam’s ex-girlfriend, Tsion, confirmed that she suspected him of cheating on her.

Of course, she also “confirmed” that she could never actually prove it, but she believed it to be the case.

Biniyam said that Tsion was a “jealous” person … but he also says that about Ariela and about his ex-wife, Bria.

Speaking of Bria, she apparently also accused him of cheating on her — and they were married.

We know very few details about how all of that went down, and Bria has yet to speak publicly about Bini.

But if Biniyam’s ex-girlfriend, ex-wife, and current fiance all think that he’s a cheater … that says a lot.

Biniyam’s habits, his constant on-camera disrespect for Ariela’s feelings, and his own sister’s statement all point towards him being a cheater.

We get that he’s a young, hot guy, but cheating is never the answer and he can’t do that with impugnity.

Hopefully, we’ll all learn more at the Tell All … but some fans are wondering if Ariela will just cover for him.
