Clare Crawley Demands Respect in Striking New Bachelorette Promo

Let’s be frank, shall we?

The naming of Clare Crawley as this year’s Bachelorette was not meant with raucous rounds of applause.

Many members of Bachelor Nation recoiled at the announcement in March, citing Crawley’s age and her semi-irrelevance in the franchise and making it clear producers had chosen someone from Peter Weber’s season of The Bachelor.

Ironically now, of course, viewers will sort of get their wish because The Bachelorette spoilers have revealed that Clare only lasts several days in the lead role.

She almost immediately falls for a suitor named Dale Moss… peaces out of California… and gets replaced by Tayshia Adams for the remainder of Season 16.

ABC, however, has not come out and fully confirmed this development, which is why only Crawley is featured in a new promo for upcoming episodes.

Clare, meanwhile, is clearly aware of the way she’s been treated by critics over the past few years and months, as this trailer depicts her in white dress, kicking roses around — wiith Keke Palmer‘s cover of Aretha Franklin‘s “Respect” playing in the background.

We also get a look back at Crawley’s journey as a suitor on The Bachelor and a contestant on Bachelor in Paradise.

The video shows the 39-year old walking footage of her split from Juan Pablo Galavis during season 18 of The Bachelor, which aired in 2014.

When the polarizing star of that season blindsids her with a breakup during the finale, she memorably calls him out for his lack of consideration for her feelings.

“I lost respect for you. I thought I knew what kind of man you were,” Crawley said at the time, adddiing:

“What you just made me go through, I would never want my children having a father like you.”

Well played and well said, right?

Seriously: No one likes Juan Pablo.

So here we are now, six years later, and Clare is the one in charge.

At least for about 12 days of filming, according to multiple reports.

ABC announced the return date for this quarantine-themed season of The Bachelorette last Friday… and one aspect of the announcement is already earning backlash.

Who the heck knows what to expect in the months ahead?!?

“Bachelor Nation, the wait is finally over!” screamed the network in a recent press release, adding:

Clare Crawley will finally embark on her journey to find true love as The Bachelorette returns for its sizzling 16th season on a new night.

Clare had women across America cheering from their living rooms when she famously stood up to controversial Bachelor Juan Pablo during the memorable 18th season finale of The Bachelor.

Clare left the season with a new sense of self-worth and a determination to never settle for anything less than the unconditional love and respect that she deserved.

Follow her passionate, wild ride to find her soul mate and the explosive turn of events that will have all of Bachelor Nation talking.

What about Adams? We’ll need to wait and see.

But check out this fun and interesting new teaser now!

Former Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay Takes Issue With How ABC Is Promoting The Upcoming Season — Is She Right?!

Rachel Lindsay has never seen The Graduate, but she still feels some type of way about how Clare Crawley is being portrayed in ABC‘s new promos for the upcoming season of The Bachelorette! The latest promo done by the network is a poster showing Crawley leaning against a wall, in jeans and a blazer, while a man in the […]

The Bachelorettes: All 17 Ranked By Relationship Length!

If The Bachelorette spoilers are any indication, Clare Crawley will get engaged and bow out of the show early in this season.

She’ll be replaced by Tayshia Adams, who will finish the job of doling out the roses in this most bizarre year for the series.

We’re hoping for the best for both Clare and Tayshia on their respective journeys, but face it, the odds are not in their favor.

Why do we say that? Isn’t it obvious?

This is a dating competition throwing two people together under a pretense that is literally impossible to sustain over time.

Can they transition into real life, establish a new normal and make it work? Sure they can, but often times, they fall short.

Which stars made their true love last?

Which flamed out so hilariously fast you can barely even call it a relationship? And what about those in between?

We have ranked the 17 Bachelorette stars based on who was most successful at finding love during her stint as queen.

See how they stack up from worst to first, and see if this year’s TWO stars can succeed where others have failed …

1. Hannah Brown

Hannah brown picture
Our most recent Bachelorette, Hannah Brown a.k.a. Hannah Beast a.k.a. Alabama Hannah a.k.a. Beast Mode, comes in first, or last, depending on your point of view. Hannah got engaged to Jed Wyatt on The Bachelorette, but that was over by the time we got to the After the Final Rose special, at which point she asked out runner-up Tyler Cameron. (That short-lived romance fizzled also.) Hopefully Clare can clear this very low bar.

2. Jen Schefft

Jen schefft
Bachelorette Jen Schefft broke up with winner Jerry Ferris on the After the Rose special because she just “wasn’t feeling it.” Not even making it to the day after the finale? As we saw with Hannah Brown, Jen set a low bar set for everyone else at least.

3. Clare Crawley

Clare crawley the bachelorette
Clare Crawley’s journey hasn’t even aired yet, but she’s reportedly found love with Dale Moss – and besides, even if The Bachelorette’s 2020 season ends in shambles, you can’t flame out harder than Jen or Hannah B., so she’s already ahead two spots in these rankings!

4. Tayshia Adams

Tayshia photo
Like Clare, we can’t put Tayshia Adams any higher on this list since her journey hasn’t unfolded on ABC yet – but she also can’t possibly mess it up harder than Hannah or Jen, so hey. It’s a low bar. Also, she already got the weird John Paul Jones thing outta the way in Paradise, so hopefully she’ll make better life decisions this time around.

5. Emily Maynard

Emily maynard bachelorette photo
Emily Maynard and Jef Holm broke up just a few months after his proposal in 2012. He was never the right guy anyway. Should’ve picked Sean Lowe. Not that she or Sean (who is happily married to Catherine Giudici, who he met on The Bachelor) are overthinking it right now. Sean and Catherine are about as happy as a couple can be, while Emily has since married and had a bunch of kids with Tyler Johnson.

6. Andi Dorfman

Andi Dorfman found love with Josh Murray on The Bachelorette, a move that she seemed destined to make from the start despite a lot of red flags. The heart wants what it wants, we suppose … including breakups. Unfortunately, their engagement ended after only six months or so.

Clare Crawley: Wait, Is She Still The Bachelorette?

Our heads are spinning over reports that Clare Crawley quit The Bachelorette and was replaced by Tayshia Adams.

But amidst these reports, ABC just put out a promo for the new season … very clearly starring Clare. What?!

At first, we were perfectly willing to write off the claims that Clare had quit filming after 12 days as a prank.

Don’t get us wrong, Dale Moss is a hot guy and a total catch.

But even if she did fall head over heels, would she really have ghosted on her contract like that?

Over the past several days, however, it has become increasingly clear that these reports may be the real deal.

Even Reality Steve, often suspicious of news that breaks from random tabloids before making it to his ears, is onboard.

Instead of any official denials that Clare quit and got engaged and was replaced by Tayshia Adams, we got … relative radio silence.

Now, amidst the swirling rumors about production on this already unusual season, ABC just dropped a promo.

The video, included with this post, is almost painfully brief.

And despite reports of her replacement just 12 days into filming, it still features Clare.

The promo only features Clare.

There is, we will admit, a strongly ominous and mysterious vibe to the promo video.

Maybe the teaser was always intended to be like this. Maybe.

But our guess? They made it this way to play off of current reports about Clare.

It doesn’t sound like the network is ready to give us details about how Tayshia’s picking up of the reins is going to be or how it will all work.

Otherwise, we’d imagine some sort of “passing the baton” motif worked into the promo. That’s the obvious move, right?

We can imagine original plans for the promo, like Clare kissing an unseen man through a sheet of glass, or while wearing hazmat gear.

Either that or playing up the “cougar” angle since she is 39, but honestly, that might have reaked of ageism.

Clare is the same age as Arie Luyendyk Jr., who looks a solid decade older than she does, but production never played up that he looked like his fiance’s dad.

If these widespread and thus far not-yet-debunked reports are true, Clare fell head over heels for hot athlete Dale Moss.

Whether they were secretly chatting before the season or she was hypnotized the moment that she laid eyes on the way his tiddies fill out a shirt remains unclear.

But either way, she knew that he was the one that she wanted … and apparently, everybody else can take a hike.

With Tayshia Adams stepping in to replace her, Clare’s loss is Tayshia’s gain … sort of.

Tayshia is reportedly contending with Clare’s seconds, which means that all of the contestants are men chosen for Clare, not Tayshia.

Additionally, Tayshia is not expected to get a chance to sort through any of the men from Clare’s “discard pile,” so to speak. Not ideal for her.

But hey, maybe this promo is intended to tell us that the reports are false … without coming out and saying so.

After all, ABC has to be loving all of this attention.

At this point, though, we’re very willing to believe that at least the bulk of what’s being said is legit. We hope that Tayshia can have a worthy season anyway.
