During the The Real Housewives of New Jersey Reunion special, Luis Ruelas finally answered long-asked questions.
That doesn’t mean that everyone was satisfied with his answers, or that he addressed everything.
On the long list of Luis’ red flags that Teresa did not want discussed was the accusation of domestic violence against an ex-wife.
Now, the details from the police report have been made available, and it almost sounds like Luis was playing word games at the Reunion.
Luis Ruelas was pretty specific at the Reunion when he insisted that he had never “hit” a past partner.
It would have been shocking if he had said anything else — non-abusers don’t confess to abuse unless coerced, while abusers often lie.
But the police report says that Luis pushed his former wife, Marisa DiMartino, into a metal pole during the oft-referenced dispute.
Page Six got a hold of the police report about the 2012 incident in Orangetown, New York.
At the home that they once shared with their two sons, the conflict began after Luis dropped off the children to be with their mother.
This is when, the report reads, “the two began to argue over finances.”
“The dispute became heated,” the police report reads, “and culminated with [Ruelas] pushing [DiMartino] into a metal support pole in the garage.”
Per the report, “this action took place in the presence of the couple’s son.”
Authorites wrote: “[DiMartino] refused medical attention, and was adamant that she did not wish to sign a charge.”
Because of how our laws work, her refusal to press charges meant that Luis was not arrested.
There was a prior report during their marriage, describing a “verbal dispute” with Luis, who was her husband at the time (the marriage ended in 2010).
“[DiMartino] states they are going through a divorce,” the police report read, “and [Ruelas] came to the house and got into an argument with her. [DiMartino] left residence.”
It is unclear what prompted the verbal dispute to become a police report, but a trespassing complaint, precautionary call, or a concerned neighbor could have been the reason.
Additionally, Marisa accused Luis of calling her names in front of their children. This was during a June 2016 custody exchange.
“My ex husband came to pick up my son [at] approx 6:00,” she described in the report. “He wanted to exchange words and I did not want to come to [the] door.”
“He continued ringing and banging on [the] door till I opened, scaring my other son, [redacted], upstairs,” Marisa reported at the time.
“At drop off he shouted names in front of both children as he sped off with second son,” she continued, “who he claims wants to live with him.”
During the police report, Marisa described Luis as abusive, checking boxes indicating that he had verbalized death threats or used physical violence with her over the years.
Luis has not directly responded to the newly revealed police report.
One insider did however claim that Luis and Marisa have a positive co-parenting relationship now.
Clearly, that was not always the case. It seems unlikely that Teresa is interested in hearing more.
All season long, Teresa Giudice has been doing the most to stop people from talking about Luis Ruelas’ red flags.
He has some serious baggage, and she has barely allowed him to speak about any of it — to the detriment of his reputation.
On the Reunion special, Luis finally got to address one memorable, viral video without Teresa butting in.
Luis’ description didn’t resolve everything, but it did earn a round of applause from Joe Gorga.
On Part 3 of the Reunion special, Andy Cohen asked for clarification once the househusbands all joined them on the stage.
“When you were asked to explain the video, you claimed it was a breakup video,” the host said to Luis.
“But in the video you actually proposed,” Andy pointed out, asking: “So what was it?”
“I was in a relationship, it was toxic and my business partner was going to this retreat,” Luis began. “So I said, ‘Let’s go.'”
He clarified: “And we weren’t naked on the beach. We were in gym shorts, because they kept sending us in and out of the ocean.”
Luis went on: “Going in and out of the ocean, they made the guys set intentions for their wives.”
“I was a single guy, so I made this intention to this woman I was dating,” Luis explained.
“I was trying to break up, but I didn’t have the guts to do it,” he admitted.
“So when I went there,” Luis detailed, “they made me commit to her and basically said, ‘Stop making excuses,’ and I committed to her.”
Luis recalled returning home, at which point the woman “gave me a prenup, she asked for $1 million to get married.”
At that point, he and the ex in question broke up.
Joe Gorga and Margaret Josephs, having finally heard an explanation, offered their unironic applause.
“I was trying to help you flip public opinion because I didn’t want you to look bad,” Margaret claimed.
“This is a very clear explanation. Public opinion was not good,” she pointed out. “Unfortunately, it didn’t get flipped.”
Whether or not Margaret’s intentions were as helpful as she now claims, Teresa did not do any favors by guarding her “love bubble” in such a suspicious manner.
Luis explained that Teresa had not demanded his silence, but had advised him: “You don’t have to answer to anybody.”
He recalled: “I kept saying to her, ‘You have to let me speak.’ If I had a chance to speak, it would have been different.”
Sort of weird for him to throw Teresa under the bus there, whether or not she deserves it.
Andy then pointed out: “You seem to have a lot of women that you’ve dated who have unkind things to say about you.”
He listed: “There’s road rage incidents, you demand sex all the time, emotionally abusive, slashed a girlfriend’s tire, your family doesn’t like you, physical abuse in front of kids.”
Andy then asked an important but likely unhelpful question: “Is any of it true?”
“We were basically in toxic relationships,” Luis characterized.
“When you’re in toxic relationships, it felt emotionally abusive to me, but I’m not gonna label it that way,” he claimed.
As for the general accusations of demanding sex, Luis simply admitted: “I can’t have sex four times a day,” followed by Teresa joking: “I wish!”
Most serious of all are the domestic violence accusations, which Luis says were “arguments with my wife over my children when we were getting divorced.”
He commented: “If I’m the only guy in America that basically had arguments with his wife and she walks into the house and calls the police.”
“That’s the extent of it,” Luis insisted, denying that he ever hit said wife.
“Was I a perfect human being, absolutely not,” Luis confessed after denying physical abuse. However, he has suffered blowback from his rise to fame.
“Teresa didn’t want me to say this but they let me go from my company from all the negative stuff that came up in the press,” he shared, “because of all my exes out there.”
Luis detailed: “They called me up and said, ‘You have to step down,’ and that really sucked.”
Teresa Giudice has been so mindlessly defensive of Luis Ruelas that she drove her own brother to quit.
Simply asking questions about her fiance is enough to set her off.
But Margaret isn’t the only one who is curious, and a lot of fans are unclear on what exactly has people so worried.
There are multiple red flags — some worse than others — in Luis’ history. Let’s take a look:
First up, there was Luis’ road rage incident — importantly, this was an incident that resulted in a guilty plea.
In August of 2018, he was charged with simple assault after a confrontation in Allendale, New Jersey.
A man named Jesse Palmieri stopped in the road to avoid hitting a squirrel.
This is where it gets very New Jersey: Luis tried to pass Jesse from behind, at which point Jesse flipped his middle finger at Luis.
According to reports, Luis exited his vehicle and “charged” at Jesse’s driver’s side door, verbally arguing with Jesse until the latter tried to roll up his window.
Luis was charged with assault after allegedly striking Jesse on the head, knocking off his sunglasses.
Luis ultimately only pleaded guilty to “disturbing the peace.”
He paid a $325 fine … less than nothing for a millionaire who allegedly struck a man over a traffic dispute.
That story alone would be enough of a red flag for some to steer clear, but there is more.
Most infamously, of course, are the allegations made by Luis’ exes.
In 2020, Vanessa Reiser filed a lawsuit against him, accusing her of locking her out of her apartment.
Later, she described, he love-bombed her — bombarding her with lavish gifts to manipulate her into staying in the toxic relationship.
She accused Luis of setting up a business for her in his name, claiming that it was in her name.
His goal? In the lawsuit, she accused him of doing this to ruin her career, possibly out of a desire for revenge.
Vanessa also alleged that Luis tried to interfere with her friendships, isolating her from once-close social bonds.
Memorably, she described Luis as extremely sexually demanding, insisting that she be “available for sex” — like the wife in a cult — on demand.
If she was not, she described, he would “punish” her, being unkind, withdrawn, and blaming her.
As a positive outcome of this, she has gone on to become a licensed therapist who specializes in narcissistic abuse.
Another ex, Paula Sanchez, described similar incidents of harsh demands for sex, interlaced with lovebombing episodes.

Now, Margaret Jacobs did bring up an accusation on the show — a claim that Luis had physically abused a woman.
If it’s possible for any incident of domestic violence to be “worse” than another, this allegedly went down in front of the woman’s children.
Luis was even confronted about this on the show, but insisted that he had a “couple of very angry exes” who were “thirsty for attention.”
After something as harrowing as that, it almost feels petty to discuss the “Warrior Camp” video, but it’s worth noting.
The bizarre retreat, and a video from it, became a hot topic on the show, as Luis appeared shirtless on a beach. It was just … weird.
While “warrior” is kind of an odd name for anything that’s not a video game, sports team, or a book about cats, that one seems more innocuous than the others.
After Part 2 of this very messy The Real Housewives of New Jersey Reunion, much of the buzz was about Teresa, Andy, and Joe.
These explosive moments almost — but not quite — distracted us all from a very weird revelation.
For ages, Dolores Catania dated David Principe.
Now, David is dating one of Luis Ruelas’ exes. Small world?
“It’s true,” Dolores confirmed to Andy Cohen at the Reunion special.
However, Teresa Giudice had one little bone to pick with the news.
She claimed that this woman, whose name was not revealed, is “not really” one of her fiance’s exes — not as far as she is concerned.
“It was just someone that he was talking to two months before,” Teresa said dismissively.
Well since “talking” is used all but synonymously with “dating” or at least to mean one of the early stages of dating, how is “ex” not the right label?
Dolores, at least, considers the woman to be an ex of Luis’ no matter what Teresa would like to believe.
“It was two months,” Dolores corrected Teresa.
“And then the day he met you, he never called her again!” she announced.
By all accounts, once Teresa and Luis got together, everything else went up in smoke. They were, and are, crazy about each other.
“So, he ghosted this woman for you?” Andy asked.
People sometimes exaggerate what ghosting means, but “talking” for months only to go radio silent without explanation would certainly qualify.
“Well, I don’t know. You have to ask him what he told her,” Teresa replied. “I don’t know.”
Catania’s erstwhile romances have played a significant role in her life.
Obviously, there’s Frank Catania.
But her relationship with David was lengthy, and absolutely impacted how she views life and love.
“Well, my relationship with Frank, I learned that there’s life after that,” Dolores characterized.
She and Frank share two adult children, 26-year-old Gabrielle and 23-year-old Frankie.
The two share a strong friendship, as evidenced both on and off screen.
Of course, decades ago, things were very different.
Dolores filed to divorce Frankie all of those years back after discovering that he had been cheating.
That is a familiar plight for some of her castmates, but not all of the Housewives handle that crisis in the same way.
These days, Dolores acknowledges that she wasted “too much time” on her relationship with David, as her friend and castmate warned her at the time.
“[Teresa] was on my back,” she recalled. “She’s like, ‘Its [been] five years!’”
Dolores split with David last year, and is now of course dating Paul Connell.
Paul is the CEO of Eco Electrical Services.
While there is some hope that he might make an appearance next season, Dolores feels that the show is sort of a cautionary tale that warns off significant others.
“Well, Andy, does anybody want to walk into this and get f–king destroyed?” she asked the Bravo host.
Dolores pointed out how filming for a reality show like theirs can be a “scary thing.”
Newcomer Luis and seasoned castmate Joe Gorga have both found themselves in unpleasant situations.
That said … Dolores suspects that Paul will sign on to the show anyway.
“Would he do it? Yes. He would do anything for me,” Dolores reported at the Reunion.
“When you’re with someone, you do these things,” she characterized.
She is less sure as to whether she’s up for marrying Paul one day, but admitted that she might feel differently one day.
Give Joe Gorga some credit.
He didn’t beat around a single bush on Tuesday night.

Ever since it was first reported that he was seeing Teresa Guidice, we’ve all heard that Luis Ruelas is bad news.
Margaret Josephs and Teresa will go to war over it as the season continues, but she’s not the only one talking about it.
The husbands of RHONJ, including Joe Gorga, are asking Luis very directly about the accusations from his exes.
Did he abuse his ex? If that’s who he is, he and Joe are going to have a problem.
It has been claimed that Luis Ruelas physically abused his former fiancee, even striking her in front of her children.
That goes above and beyond the initial rumors that came out.
Being toxic, love-bombing, and being horny are one thing. Domestic abuse is another, and some have wondered if Teresa is in danger.
The husbands addressed what they had heard, not just speaking about it on camera but asking Luis directly.
“Yeah, I’ve had a couple of bad relationships,” Luis began, at first just speaking about broader accusations from exes.
“But I’m sure every guy at this table has a girl that’ll talk bad about you,” he continued, “and say something different or opposite of the truth.”
That was not quite enough, and Tiki Barber asked Luis about the abuse allegations.
“There’s no physical violence. There’s no truth to that,” Luis claimed.
He alleged: “There’s a couple of very angry exes [who are] very thirsty for attention, so no.”
“Let me let you in on a little secret,” Luis then continued.
“The girl you’re referring to, I heard a rumor that she stabbed her husband with a butcher knife,” he claimed.
Luis specified that it was “while I was dating her, [I heard] a rumor about it.”
Luis revealed that he had stayed with the woman despite allegedly hearing about the alleged stabbing rumor.
“I didn’t want to believe it… I was stupid. I don’t know man, I wasn’t strong,” Luis said.
Understandably, not everyone present was sure that Luis was being sincere … and not just trying to steer the conversation.
Joe freely admitted to the confessional camera that this is not a dating situation that he would have picked for his sister.
“This is a little weird, but Teresa has made up her mind that she wants to stay with Louie,” he stated frankly.
“And if I want to stay in my sister’s life,” Joe admitted, “I’m gonna keep my mouth shut.”
But Joe’s desire to stay in his sister’s life did not mean that he wasn’t going to keep an eye out.
“Listen, there’s a lot of s–t coming out, but I said to my sister, ‘Does he treat you right?’ She says yes,” Joe told Luis.
He then warned: “But you f–k up, I’m gonna find out about that, trust me.”
In that same episode, Teresa was preparing for her one-year anniversary celebration.
She prepared to mark the milestone with Luis, with Gia and Gabriella there as she got ready.
Of course, Gia has expressed some wise reservations about her mother’s head-over-heels romance.
Teresa even brought up her own history, of having gone to prison, to defend Luis’ reputation.
Gia sagely noted that her mom spending time behind bars for a white collar charge isn’t really comparable to a man accused of mistreating his partners.
