Peter Weber: My Relationship With Madison Was ALWAYS Doomed!

Since finishing his run as leading man, Peter Weber has had a lot of ups and downs.

He has been in and out of relationships, Peter has even trashed The Bachelor as no place to find love.

Now, he is opening up about when he dated Madison Prewett.

It was a controversial time, and not just because of his mom. Peter admits that it was beyond rough.

This week, Peter Weber spoke to Page Six about the challenges of dating Madi after Season 24.

“It was literally the most trying and most difficult experience I have ever been through,” he admitted.

“As much respect for her as I have and think so highly of her,” Peter added, “I definitely see there were differences between the two of us.”

Peter acknowledged that there were differences “that probably weren’t going to allow a meaningful long-term relationship to flourish.”

He emphasized that this was “Nothing against either one of us.”

“It’s just who we are,” Peter characterized. “It is what it is.”

To recap, Peter breifly became engaged to the wildly gorgeous Hannah Ann Sluss.

That was the on-camera, season finale engagement.

Things did not last and the two parted ways, as so often happens in this franchise.

After that, Peter tried to pivot by getting back together with one of his finalists — Madison.

He and Madi were dating as the season aired.

But shortly after the finale was seen by the viewers at home, they split (again) in March 2020.

Things were already complicated between the two of them.

During the season, Madison dropped a bombshell.

It was her intention to avoid sexual activity until she was married.

While she has every right to do (or not do) whatever she likes with her body, it was a surprise — especially given Peter’s reputation.

Peter had of course been intimate with both Hannah Ann and Victoria Fuller.

That is one of the key purposes of the fantasy suites — to test compatibility off-camera.

Upon learning that, Madi walked away, leaving Peter both blindsided and devastated.

With that kind of set-up, Peter’s follow-up engagement to Hannah Ann was seemingly doomed.

But would things have gone differently if his very first fantasy suite night had been with Madi?

“If that would have been the case, obviously the show probably would have gone a little different,” Peter suggested.

“But truly, I really mean this,” he emphasized, “I don’t know if that would have changed anything in the long run.”

Madi wouldn’t have stormed off … but it wouldn’t have magically made them any more compatible.

Peter ended up dating Kelley Flanagan, another woman from his season who arguably had an unfair run at the time.

They did very well, dating intensely for months.

However, Peter and Kelley announced their split nearly one year ago, in December of 2020.

Like Peter, Madison seems to look back on her erstwhile relationship as a complicated thing.

In many ways, she felt that she was representing her Christian faith on the show, which she felt was “attacked” at times.

Madison released a memoir last month focusing upon her religious beliefs, and while Peter has not read it yet, he wishes her well.

Victoria Fuller Accuses Bachelor In Paradise Producers Of Harassment

Bachelor Alum Kelley Flanagan Tearfully Reveals She Has Lyme Disease In Emotional Video

We’re sending all of our love to Kelley Flanagan! The Bachelor veteran and one-time recipient of former lovelorn leading man Peter Weber‘s affection after her reality TV run revealed on Monday in a new video that she’s been diagnosed with Lyme Disease. Common in the northeast United States and often spread by tick bites, the disease is rarely life-threatening, but […]

Kelley Flanagan: If Peter Wanted Me to Stay Quiet, He Shouldn’t Have Lied!

Peter Weber did not earn a reputation as the most decisive Bachelor in the franchise’s history.

After his season ended, he dated multiple contestants … most notably, Kelley Flanagan.

The two had a bitter falling out, and Peter has called Kelley’s unhappy statements “calculated,” among other things.

Now, Kelley is clapping back, saying that Pilot Pete is the real petty one.

In a recent YouTube video, Kelley is rebuking Peter’s most recent characterizations.

“Usually, I’d let it slide,” Kelley informed her viewers.

Not this time, however.

“But when there are things out there that are misconstrued,” Kelley began to explain.

She declared: “I’m always going to stick up for myself.”

Kelley added that she will do so “as I think everyone else should.”

For a quick refresher, Kelley and Peter began dating after Peter struck out with Hannah Ann and with Madison.

Things got hot and heavy quickly, and they even had plans to move, together, to New York.

Then, they called it quits … with Peter announcing the breakup on New Year’s Eve 2020.

Initially, the couple said that their “relationship simply didn’t work out in the end.”

Kelley confirmed the breakup early on in January.

She said that they were in “two different stages” in life, seeing their “future paths differently.”

Then, in March, Kelley had more to say about Peter and their breakup.

At that time, she shared that she had asked Pete to hold off on announcing their split.

She wanted a few days so that she could tell family and friends before it went public.

Instead, her request for extra time to break the news and process it quietly “wasn’t granted.”

It was only after seeing Peter spread his narrative that she resolved to speak out.

Especially because she had asked their manager to get Pilot Pete to cut it out.

Kelley shared that she ended things because there were “just a lot of non-negotiables in the relationship.”

“Actions kind of speak louder than words,” she affirmed.

“And,” Kelley continued, “it takes a long time to figure that out.”

“If there was something that I saw as disrespectful in the relationship,” Kelley continued.

“I would speak on it,” she revealed.

“And,” Kelley characterized, “I was pretty vocal.”

Kelley confirmed that there was no single “massive” incident behind the breakup.

According to her, the pair had been “struggling and having hard times.”

Sometimes, there’s a way out of the unhappiness. Sometimes, there is not.

In April, Peter shared that he and Kelley were “not in contact anymore.”

Kelley followed that up by sharing that the two had hung out in February after their split.

At that time, she shared that their attempt at reconciliation had “ended really badly.”

Specifically, Kelley told Peter to “get the hell out of my life.”

Peter responded on a different podcast, where he did not mince words about Kelley’s words.

“I thought it was very calculated,” he expressed.

“I thought, after hearing how it went, that it was very trying to push for a headline,” Peter shared.

He described Kelley’s interview: “Like I said, very just calculated, very disingenuous.”

He wanted Kelley to move on … and will probably be unhappy that she spoke out again.

Peter Weber to Kelley Flanagan: You’re Calculated, Dishonest, and Obsessed With Me!

The Bachelor Nation has heard a lot of what Kelley Flanagan had to say about Peter Weber.

It was not exactly a glowing post-breakup review.

Now, Peter has taken his turn, responding to Kelley’s scathing description of how things ended.

It sounds like he really wishes that Kelley would just move on, but he wishes her well.

This week, Peter got personal on his and Dustin Kendrick’s Bachelor in the City podcast.

There, the infamous Windmill Horndog addressed how he feels after his split from Kelley.

“I’m 100 percent moved on,” Peter prefaced.

“What I’m about to say is not in any way meant to indicate that I’m still holding out hope or whatnot,” Peter clarified.

“No — I’m more than 100 percent moved on,” he emphasized.

Peter then affirmed: “I know that we aren’t right for each other.”

“I’ve accepted that,” Peter proclaimed.

“I’m so thankful for our time together,” he expressed.

“But I know that Kelley and I aren’t meant to be together,” Peter stated, “and that’s okay.”

“I can’t wait to find my person,” Peter wrote.

“I can’t wait for her to find hers, really, but that takes time,” he acknowledged.

Peter added: “That takes time to get to that point.”

“I’m gonna be so brutally, brutally honest with you guys for however long this goes on for,” Peter pledged.

“And,” he added, “just speak from the heart.”

What he had to say — from the heart — about Kelley’s post-breakup statements showed a lot of hurt.

“I thought it was very calculated,” Peter assessed of Kelley’s Chicks in the Office interview.

“I thought, after hearing how it went, that it was very trying to push for a headline,” he opined.

Peter believes that it was “very just calculated, very disingenuous.”

“That’s too bad,” Peter expressed.

“I didn’t necessarily expect that from Kelley,” he admitted.

Peter then confessed that “it kind of caught me off guard.”

According to Peter, he reached out to Kelley through one of her friends.

His goal was to try to make things amicable, at least, but was told that he would need to make a “grandiose gesture.”

Peter says that he never received a response … and then Kelley did her podcast interview.

“Kelley is so much more than just a girl from the Bachelor,” Peter stated.

He also noted that she is more than just “a girl that I was in a relationship with.”

Peter expressed: “I wish that she would kind of just, like, leave this be.”

Despite all of that, Peter affirmed that he continues to cherish the time that they spent together.

“The breakup was obviously very hard on the both of us,” he acknowledged.

“I’ve been very open how truly — and I’m not just saying this — Kelley was the best relationship that I have ever had in my life,” Peter added.

“And [I] could not be more grateful for that 10 months that we did have together,” Peter emphasized.

“Yes, it was not perfect,” he noted.

“No relationship is, obviously, but [I’m] so, so grateful for that time,” Peter shared.

“I care very, very deeply for Kel,” Peter expressed.

“Anyone that’s been in a relationship knows that the attachment that you guys have that you form doesn’t just go away overnight,” he noted.

“It doesn’t just disappear,” Peter explained.

Peter said that this remains true “even if you guys come to a point where you realize that you’re not necessarily compatible.”

He continued: “or meant to be together long-term.”

As was clearly the case here. But why, according to Peter, did they split?

Peter shared that he found that “they were different in a lot of ways.”

He explained his New Year’s Eve breakup announcement.

Apparently Peter had decided: “I need to leave this in 2020.”

“I will never apologize for liking Pokemon cards,” Peter added, to the delight of many fans.

He noted that there is a nostalgic appeal for himself and many other Millennials.

Peter also praised “how smart they are to be investing in.”

According to Peter, Kelley at least pretended to also like them during their erstwhile romance.

“Maybe she was just playing along to make me happy,” he suggested upon reflection.

That is not uncommon in relationships, but one ex can be hurt when the other suddenly reveals that they always hated the other’s music, hobby, etc.

Peter said that he “can’t wait to find my person” and hopes that Kelley can do the same.

“Closure’s such a great thing,” Peter praised.

He is not wrong — and he wishes this “great thing” upon his ex.

“I can’t force Kelley to get closure,” he admitted.

“I want her to be happy,” Peter stressed.

He expressed a hope for Kelley to “Be happy, let this go, let it be.”

Who Was the Worst Bachelor Ever?

In 2020, Peter Weber was often called the worst Bachelor of all time.

After he proposed to Hannah Ann Sluss, ghosted her, dated Madison Prewett for like a day, and then finally wound up with Kelley Flanagan, who also got tired of him, he may have earned that title.

It’s not hard to see why the guy is so widely disliked – after all, he wasted everybody’s time, delivered a painfully anti-climactic conclusion, and broke quite a few hears with his indecisiveness.

But while it’s not often that you’ll find us defending Pilot Pete here at THG, we have to push back against the idea that he’s the unequivocally the worst Bachelor of all time.

Sure, he’s the most recent to deliver a total letdown of a season – but he’s not the first, nor the last. In fact, Matt James’ season ended with many disappointments as well.

So join us on a trip down Fantasy Suite memory lane as we take a look at the rose master generals who were more thorn than blossom and determine who was really the biggest dud among studs.

Take a look:

1. The Front-Runner

Peter weber and his ladies
You might hear the term “worst Bachelor of all-time” bandied about a lot in reference to Peter Weber. But as you’re about to find out, Pilot Pete actually has quite a bit of competition in that department.

2. Matt James

Matt james gma picture
Matt James, the first Black Bachelor lead, came in with high expectations, for sure. While he personally didn’t do anything during his 2020 season that would be considered “Worst Ever” material, the franchise crumbling around him made for one of the ickiest seasons in franchise history.

3. He Chose Rachael Kirkconnell

Rachael kirkconnell with matt
Incredibly, Matt’s final rose winner was Rachael Kirkconnell, who made headlines during the season for all the wrong reasons – old photos of her at a racially insensitive Plantation party, and her tone-deaf response to that controversy. Rachael eventually apologized more sincerely, but not before Chris Harrison made the situation exponentially worse with an even more tone-deaf defense of Kirkconnell. By the time the final rose was handed out on TV, the couple had already gone their separate ways – and many fans had divorced the Bachelor itself.

4. Nick Viall

Nick viall in a suit
First on our list is Nick Viall. We know what you’re thinking — Nick’s not such a bad guy. In fact, he still hosts a wildly popular podcast about all things Bachelor Nation. But that’s exactly our point …

5. Viall Behavior

If you google the term “here for the wrong reasons,” Nick’s face should be the first to pop up. From the start, this guy made it perfectly clear that he loves the limelight more than he could ever love any romantic partner.

6. Not Taking the Hint

Nick viall and chris harrison
Nick won the first impression rose from lawyer Andi Dorfman and made it to her final round, where he lost to Josh Murray. He then weaseled his way into Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season. Next, he appeared on Bachelor In Paradise, before finally landing a role as The Bachelor in 2016.
