The Real Housewives of New York City Will Not Return in 2022 [Report]

Ever since Bravo canceled the RHONY Season 13 Reunion, fans have been abuzz about Season 14.

In light of how this season struggled and what Ramona Singer’s alleged racist remark, will the show even go on?

Even Andy Cohen admitted that the series is going to “pause” for a while.

And a new report says that Bravo fans shouldn’t expect to see any apple-wielding Housewives in 2022.

RHONY Midseason 13 Promo

Anthony Dominic, who previously reported for TMZ, just tweeted some news.

“I’m told Bravo currently doesn’t have a new season slated for next year,” the tweet revealed.

“And,” the tweet continued, “the franchise will take some serious time off before the reboot.”

RHONY tweet by Anthony Dominic 12 November 2021

“The series is still alive,” Dominic’s tweet confirmed.

“But,” the post explained, “Bravo wants to take the time to make the return worth it.”

That makes sense … up to a point, and sounds believable given what we are already hearing elsewhere.

The Real Housewives of New York City1

Real Housewives: Ultimate girls Trip begins streaming on Peacock later this week.

Luann and Ramona have both been part of the promo work for the “All Stars” style program.

They even addressed how they would feel about a potential, hypothetical “major cast shakeup.”

“I think we could use some definitely, some more cast members,” Ramona opined.

“If we come back, I would definitely like to see a lot more people come on,” she continued.

Ramona then joked that she wants a fresh castmate “because I gotta haze somebody new.”

Though there are many areas where Luann and Ramona are very different people, they agreed on this topic.

“We’re only five right now,” the erstwhile countess noted.

“So,” Luann reasoned, “we have a small cast compared to a lot of the franchises.”

“So I think we need kind of a reboot,” Luann suggested.

Obviously, she is using the term colloquially, as an actual reboot would mean starting from scratch — and would not include Luann.

“And it’s always nice to have new people on the show also,” Luann added.

Luann voiced her desire to “make new friends and experience new personalities and different energy.”

She added: “So I think it’s a good thing.”

Certainly, adding new cast members can breathe new life into a reality series.

Meanwhile, Andy Cohen did an interview on The Wendy Williams Show.

While Wendy is taking time off from hosting, the show has had a number of guest hosts, including Michael Rapaport.

Andy acknowledged that there is a “pause” on the show, and confirmed that they are exploring casting options.

“We are kind of on pause at this moment,” Andy announced.

“We have a lot of casting happening,” he shared, “and we’re looking at every option.”

Andy emphasized: “We are working on it. I love New York. We all love New York.”

Starting from scratch is always a casting option, but not always the wisest.

Any time that a show rolls out a brand new cast, it’s almost like rolling out a brand new show.

Viewers are having to learn names and faces again and build new virtual “relationships” with the stars.

That can happen, but only up to a certain point — after a while, viewers can grow fatigued.

Additionally, axing an entire cast can make audiences feel betrayed.

This would be especially true in the case of RHONY, because of the racist backlash aimed at newcomer Eboni K. Williams.

There was a lot of white fragility expressed by, ahem, certain demographics of viewers this year.

These individuals were tired of hearing about how other people are treated, and furious with Eboni for piercing their bubble of comfort.

Eboni did exactly what production hired her to do, and paid the price in a nearly unprecedented wave of vitriol online.

If anyone should remain for Season 14 — anyone at all, including some of my personal faves — it should be Eboni.

It’s not just that she’s smart and entertaining and faces off well against strong, malicious personalities.

It’s also that not asking Eboni to return would look like Bravo is caving to the bad guys — essentially “letting the terrorists win,” so to speak.

Meanwhile, it may be that Andy’s line about pausing the show has less to do with the cast and more to do with the setting.

New York itself has always been a “character” on the series, and that was not really the case — could not be the case — during COVID.

Since the pandemic is ongoing, it may be smart for Bravo to wait until the pandemic is genuinely over before filming resumes.

If the report that the series will not return in 2022 is true, that does not necessarily mean that the Housewives will be twiddling their thumbs.

In addition to these “All Stars” projects, we should remember that each of these shows films about 8 months (give or take) in advance.

A 2023 Season 14 premiere could mean that filming starts in the first half of next year. Something for us all to keep an eye out for.

Kenya Moore: I Don’t Know if Ramona Singer is Racist, But She Sure is a Jerk!

Fans of The Real Housewives of New York City are reeling from the latest revelation about the previous season.

Ramona Singer’s alleged racist statement to Eboni K. Williams has been revealed, and it was so much worse than most had thought.

But Ramona also recently filmed another Housewives project, Ultimate Girls Trip.

There, she and Kenya Moore clashed intensely.

Ultimate Girls Trip is going to be quite something.

Teasers for this Real Housewives “All Stars” experience, which will stream on Peacock, have promised as much.

One of the enticing conflicts that went down was between Ramona and Kenya.

Ramona shouts “Oh, f–k you” in the teaser while aboard a boat.

Kenya’s fiery clapback begins: “What you’re not going to do is say, ‘F–k you,’ to me.”

Very reasonably, she asks the belligerent New Yorker: “Who the f–k do you think you are, Ramona?”

In light of everything else going on with Ramona lately, Kenya Moore spoke to Page Six.

“In the beginning, she just seemed to be very rude,” Kenya said of their time in Turks and Caicos.

“She cursed at me within 30 minutes of meeting her,” Kenya recalled.

That set them up for further conflicts, Kenya explained.

“I’m not going to get along with someone who is just so blatantly disrespectful,” she stated.

Kenya characterized herself as “not the girl to be disrespectful with.”

“Maybe she doesn’t know my street cred,” Kenya speculated.

“But,” she added, “she found out.”

Kenya felt good about standing her ground before Ramona’s unconscionable rudeness.

However, this meant that follow-up experiences with Ramona were not fun.

“You know you’re not going anywhere,” Kenya reasoned.

She added: “It was like, I’m just doing it now for the sake of abusing myself.”

Trying to reason with Ramona was never going to work, because of who Ramona is.

“Because the more you kept trying to talk to her and talk sense into her,” Kenya detailed.

She characterized the fruitless adventure: “it was like hitting your head against a brick wall.”

Naturally, Kenya was asked about the recent revelations about Ramona.

According to a production insider, Ramona stated: “This is why we shouldn’t have Black people on the show.”

She was speaking in reference to Eboni K. Williams, who then reported her to Bravo. Ramona has denied the accusation.

“I’d hate to speculate on something like that,” Kenya said graciously.

“I don’t know her well enough,” she admitted, “and I didn’t personally firsthand witness anything.”

Kenya acknowledged: “That could be very damaging to someone, especially if it’s not true.”

“I just would like to have more evidence or know more about what is alleged,” Kenya continued.

“Or,” she stated, “just simply wait until it’s an actual fact or not.”

After all, Eboni herself has not publicly spoken out about this to confirm that this is what she heard Ramona say.

Ultimately, despite no love lost between them, Kenya wasn’t prepared to call out Ramona as a racist.

“I didn’t get that sense,” she said.

Kenya concluded: “I got the sense that she was just a jerk.”

Ramona Singer on Eboni Williams: This is Why We Shouldn’t Have Black People on the Show!

As previously reported, Bravo canceled the The Real Housewives of New York City Season 13 Reunion, leaving a lot of unresolved drama.

It never aired because it never filmed.

Originally, Bravo claimed that there were scheduling conflicts. But the actual “conflict” turned out to have stemmed from Ramona Singer allegedly making a racist comment to and about Eboni Williams.

Now, we know what she reportedly said … and it’s worse than we had guessed.

What we knew, thanks to an earlier report by TMZ, was that Eboni K. Williams reported Ramona Singer for making a then-undisclosed racist comment.

Bravo investigated the matter. Apparently, someone with production had previously reported Ramona for something similar.

Both times, Bravo’s investigations went nowhere.

However, Bravo had delayed the Reunion until the investigation had concluded.

By the time that the network decided that it was over, too much time had passed since the season ended.

But … what exactly happened? How bad was it?

Page Six is now reporting on why Ramona Singer’s alleged racism may have cost this season its Reunion.

According to a production source, it happened when Luann booted Eboni from her home.

At that point, Ramona allegedly said: “This is why we shouldn’t have Black people on the show.”

In a response to Page Six‘s report, Ramona Singer told the reputable tabloid that the allegation was untrue.

“I never said that,” she insisted. “It’s a terrible lie.”

Ramona added: “It’s very disappointing that even after my name was cleared that people still want to slander me.”

Of course, Ramona could not say much more than that.

Like the rest of the Housewives, she has signed NDAs that keep her from sharing too much behind-the-scenes information without permission.

As such, Ramona alleges that she cannot share her full side of the story.

Eboni is likely under similar restrictions.

She did not immediately comment, either, and it is unclear if she will.

Competing reports have claimed that she was “satisfied” or “dissatisfied” with Bravo’s investigation, but our guess is that it was the latter.

Fans of the franchise are not exactly stunned to hear that Ramona was accused of making a racist statement.

As shocking as the actual sentence that she allegedly uttered were, it’s not a deviation from her brand.

Ramona is infamous for her bad behavior, and that hasn’t changed.

Just days ago, Ramona was put on blast for endorsing a brainrotten video.

The video likened COVID-19 vaccine mandates to “Nazi territory.”

In addition to being dangerous and inflammatory, it misses a lot of points. The Nazi Regime was the opposite of healthcare.

Another recent incident involved Ramona’s comments during a Black Shabbat on the show.

She claimed at the time that Jewish people hated her.

Ramona also alleged that, because a Black nurse refused her pain meds in 1987, she was a victim of “racism.”

Obviously, Ramona was not a victim of racism, because words mean things.

No matter what transpired 34 years ago, Ramona is a white woman and could not be a victim of racism.

Racism is a complex system of inequality, oppression, and marginalization based upon race … it’s not, like, someone having a mean feeling.

Anyone hoping that they’ve seen the last of Ramona’s worm-brained nonsense, however, has another thing coming.

She will be back on our screens in a little over a week, when Peacock’s The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip premieres on November 18.

There are real efforts by some malefactors to blame Eboni for the lack of a Reunion, but we hope that no one suggesting that she should have just stayed quiet.

Why Did Bravo Cancel The Real Housewives of New York City’s Season 13 Reunion?

After weeks and weeks of delays, the The Real Housewives of New York City Reunion was canceled by Bravo.

Ostensibly, the cancelation was due to scheduling and personality conflicts after a troubled season.

Now, we know the truth.

Bravo conducted an investigation into Ramona Singer for alleged racism … which led to there being no Reunion at all.

TMZ reports that Bravo initiated an ongoing third-party investigation.

The investigation followed Eboni K. Williams reporting an allegation of racism against Ramona Singer.

She filed the formal complaint weeks before the original Season 13 Reunion special would have been filmed.

Apparently the probe was investigating a “racially motivated” comment made by Ramona.

The investigation launched and got underway.

Bravo decided to keep pushing back and postponing the Reunion filming until the investigation had concluded.

The investigation included sit-down interviews with both the cast and production crew.

Ultimately, the investigators did not speak to anyone who corroborated Eboni’s report.

As is often the case following this kind of TV network investigation, there’s a lot that we don’t know, but it looks like Ramona is off the hook.

However, once the investigation concluded it’s apparently unsuccessful fact-finding mission, time had passed.

The network concluded that it was really too late to film the Reunion at this point.

After all, there had been so many weeks since the previous season had filmed. It was time to move on.

“It was already a low-rated season,” observed one inside source that spoke to TMZ.

“So,” the insider explained, “there were concerns about who would tune in 3 months later.”

That is understandable — Reunions aren’t just interesting, they are also expensive, and gamble on being widely viewed.

Eboni was not the only one to speak out about Ramona.

A crew member had also filed a complaint about Ramona, specifically on the topic of race.

Knowing that she was not the first to experience this from Ramona reportedly encouraged Eboni to file her complaint.

While no one is exactly surprised to hear that Ramona doesn’t know how to speak on matters of race, apparently it’s not enough.

Will the next person to file a complaint get better results?

Or will knowing that even a fellow Housewife’s complaint went nowhere drive crew members to keep quiet no matter what she does?

That said, while many are disappointed, Eboni was allegedly — per this insider — satisfied that at least there was an investigation.

However, Eboni didn’t want the Reunion canceled and felt that she had unfinished business with her castmates.

All of the Housewives lost out on some money when the Reunion was canceled, with OGs like Ramona, Luann, and Sonja missing out on a six-figure paycheck.

Reports about what is to come in Season 14 have been all over the place.

Some claim that the new season will see a bunch of returning OGs.

Others think that it will be a little more varied with old and new cast members.

We hope to see Eboni return for another season. First of all, she’s smart and a good addition to the cast.

Given that so much of the backlash against Season 13 was loaded with white fragility and outright racism, not asking her back would send the wrong message.

Besides, Eboni has a score to settle with some of her castmates.

Bethenny Frankel Demanding Millions to Return to RHONY [Report]

Early this month, Bravo sources were assuring everyone that the RHONY Reunion would be filming soon.

Just two weeks later, the network canceled the Season 13 Reunion altogether.

There are a lot of anxieties about the show’s future. One off-season, no matter the circumstances, can do lasting damage.

According to a new report, there’s just one thing that could breathe new life into the show.

Life & Style reports that Bravo is currently groveling for Bethenny Frankel to return to the show.

It is alleged that she is even in talks to some degree to return.

Last month, Bethenny insisted that it wasn’t true … but maybe something has changed since the Reunion was canned.

According to their inside source, Season 13’s ratings made the network realize that they need a comeback story for Season 14.

“Everyone agrees there were too many boring storylines this season,” the insider explained.

While this was arguably not the show’s fault (COVID-19 profoundly limited their filming options), knowing what’s to blame doesn’t fix the problem.

“The show needs a major boost,” the source reasoned.

“And,” the insider pointed out, “Bethenny is still their MVP.”

Bethenny is all but synonymous with the series, despite missing the last couple of seasons — and this has not been her first break from the show.

While it’s true that Bethenny has left and returned to the series before, that doesn’t mean that she’s just waiting for Bravo to ring a bell.

Instead of waiting on the network’s beck and call, she’s going to make them work for it.

Specifically, Bethenny has previously said that it would take a substantial financial incentive “to get her back on Bravo.”

“Bethenny’s making some bold demands,” the source says of the alleged talks between Bravo and their former star.

First up, she wants a hefty payday — we’re talking millions, plural.

Second of all, Bethenny is reportedly asking for an executive producer credit.

“It’s all about the Benjamins,” Bethenny has said in the past, hinting that she might be playing hardball with the network.

“Andy [Cohen’s] not thrilled about the situation,” the insider acknowledges.

“But the bottom line is: Bravo needs Bethenny more than she needs them,” the source freely admits.

Just last month, Bethenny quashed rumors that she is even in talks about a return to her former Housewife status.

In fact, she was so vocally disgusted by the claims that she set aside her debunking of it in order to focus on relief efforts for Haiti.

However, Bethenny shared that she hasn’t spoken to Bravo at all, and that when she talks to Andy, it’s not about work.

Perhaps something has changed in the weeks since then — something aside from the canned Reunion plans.

At the same time, Bravo may have found a way to get their foot in the door, so to speak, to negotiate with Bethenny.

Offering her an elevated platform to discuss relief efforts for Haiti could make the difference if added to a hefty paycheck, right?

The Real Housewives of New York City: Season 13 Reunion is Filming SOON!

Bravo has delayed and delayed even filming a Reunion for Season 13 of The Real Housewives of New York City.

With news of RHONY being “paused” until next year, some wondered if there would be no Reunion at all.

But Bravo isn’t washing their hands of a controversial season … there was just a delay.

The Reunion will be filmed this month, but production is worried about how the Housewives will act when they face off again.

RHONY Midseason 13 Promo

An inside source close to RHONY production tells People that the Season 13 will be filmed “soon.”

The Reunion will film within the coming weeks (at the latest, in early October) and will be in-person.

The Season 12 Reunion was also recorded amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, so this year will follow a similar format.

Production has not yet decided on a location for the taping, but the clock is ticking.

Eboni K. Williams, Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Leah McSweeney, and Sonja Morgan are all expected to participate.

This report only confirms what fans had already heard from Eboni herself.

Just last month, as Eboni reflected upon her tumultuous first season, she confirmed that it would be filmed.

“I was told a time. I was told that we’re having a reunion,” Eboni confirmed.

She added that, as is custom, “I was told what to wear to said reunion.”

Ramona Singer - I don't have the virus, I tested today

Producers were reportedly concerned about exactly what things would be like with the Housewives in the same (large) room again.

It has been a while — months, in fact — since they were together.

A lot of tension has played out and even become worse since they filmed Season 13.

The Real Housewives of New York City2

“But drama is such a good thing for reality TV,” you think — and you’re right. But only up to a point.

Memorable moments, pulling out receipts, memes, even some outlandish screaming or insults can fuel a show.

But if it comes off looking like a contentious s–tstorm, that could do lasting damage to the show and the network.

‘The division had run so deep among the cast,” the insider described.

The source continued “that we were worried that this would be an absolute dumpster fire.”

It could be a disaster “that would look horrendous for each of the women and the network.”

As for getting the Housewives to even agree to sit down for the Reunion, well, that was a little simpler.

Money opens a lot of doors.

Those Bravo paychecks are weighty, and the Housewives aren’t likely to turn down that kind of money for one (long) day’s work.

‘”I think this works out well for the cast as they are paid per episode,” a second insider suggested

“By holding a reunion the newer cast will make upwards of $10,000,” the source added.

The insider noted: “while the OGs will be pulling in over six figures.”

Eboni is the first Black Housewife in the history of this particular show.

A combination of production’s requests and tumultuous real-world events led her to help educate some of her almost unbelievably ignorant castmates.

(Seriously, Luann had never heard of the “angry Black woman” stereotype?)

RHONY Midseason 12 Promo

Unfortunately, some bad faith commentators and some white fragility among viewers has led to her being blamed for Season 13’s issues.

Folks, Season 13 filmed during COVID-19, with most of New York City effectively unavailable for filming.

Eboni is a positive addition to the show, even if the season was less than ideal.

However, the show will be on a hiatus until 2022, when the hope is that the show can continue for a less bumpy comeback.

While it sounds like false hope to say that perhaps the COVID-19 pandemic will have abated by then, it sure would be nice, right?

Andy has indicated that he’s not interested in firing Housewives right now, but in perhaps rounding out the cast.

The Real Housewives of New York City: On Indefinite Hiatus Just Like Dallas?

Fans are still processing the news that The Real Housewives of Dallas will not return in 2022.

It’s not a shock, exactly, but despite the show’s recent controversies, any cancelation or hiatus has Bravo fans anxious.

Could another franchise be next?

It’s possible. Bravo might pause RHONY in the same way, waiting another year or two before having another bite at the Big Apple.

RHONY Midseason 13 Promo

A new report claims that The Real Housewives of New York City may follow in RHOD‘s footsteps.

“There is still no confirmed date to shoot the reunion show after it’s being postponed twice,” an alleged insider claimed to RadarOnline this week.

“First, August 5th is canceled and now the September date has been canceled too,” the source added.

“But even more concerning, there is no date to start filming season 14 on the books,” the insider continued.

“And,” the supposed source added, there is “talk about putting the show on permanent hiatus.”

That would effectively mean that RHONY, like RHOD, would be more or less canceled until some future date when Bravo brings it back.

The Real Housewives of Miami has been but a memory for the better part of the last decade.

It was not technically caneled it — just put on an indefinite hiatus.

The People’s Couch received the same treatment. RHONY could potentially be next.

The controversies, the report alleges, have made this decision far above Andy Cohen’s head.

“The decision about the show’s future is no longer in the hands of Bravo,” the insider claimed.

“After all the accusations of racism the decision has gone all the way up to the top bosses at NBC,” the source added.

“The fear is that the show is just too controversial now,” the insider suggested.

“Which is why there is talk about shutting it down until things cool off,” the source claimed.

“The last thing they want to do is having this show poison the entire franchise,” the insider alleged.

There have certainly been a number of racist controversies recently.

Note that we said racist, not “racial.”

It’s important to call things what they are.

Some Housewives clearly hold racist assumptions about the world, even if they harbor no conscious malice towards people of color.

And clearly, a vocal minority of fans and viewers feel the same way.

Actually, scratch that — because some of them very obviously and loudly hold conscious malice.

The first can be fixed.

There is no shame in admitting that growing up in a culture where white supremacy is entrenched in our history and laws gave people some wrong ideas.

Education can be illuminating. That is why production asked Eboni K. Williams to share her lived experiences in the first place.

But not everyone is interested in learning — even if it might make them a better person.

A minority of Bravo viewers are nothing short of enraged that Eboni would educate instead of merely entertain.

And they are joined by people who are merely “uncomfortable” when the subject comes up … and want everyone on TV to pretend that race and racism don’t exist.

Other franchises, like The Bachelor, have learned recently that catering to white fragility can backfire.

If The Real Housewives of New York City goes on the chopping block due to what some have called an “all-Karen boycott,” it would be letting the bad guys win.

But … is that actually going to happen? What should we make of this report.

One possibility is that this is classic fear-bait reporting and not based in fact.

Anonymous sources are often very real, and can leak information that is confirmed to be true sooner or later.

But sometimes these sources are less reputable, if they exist at all. More prominent publications tend to not publish unreliable claims.

RHONY Midseason 12 Promo

Another thing to consider is that, sometimes, networks will use trial balloons in the same way that governments will.

They float an idea through an alleged leak, see how the public responds, and then make an informed decision using that reaction.

Hopefully, those who genuinely enjoy RHONY will be more vocal than those who would want to cancel the series just to spite Eboni.

Ramona Singer - I don't have the virus, I tested today

Notably, Andy Cohen has spoken of how this was a difficult season amidst COVID-19, and how he would rather add to the cast than do a shakeup.

Reports have said that Ramona might not be asked to return, or might at least be demoted, due to her behavior and to the expense of paying an OG.

Only time will tell. For now, the Housewives themselves are likely as in the dark as the rest of us.

Eboni K Williams Eviscerates Claims She Tanked RHONY’s Ratings: Blame the OGs!

Rumors about RHONY and about Eboni K. Williams has been so heated and nasty that Andy Cohen has had to step in.

It’s no secret that there are some people who are threatened by Eboni speaking about her lived experiences as a Black woman.

We’re not just talking about Ramona. Some audience members have blamed Eboni for this season’s low ratings.

Eboni is pointing out that that’s nonsense.

Speaking to the Insider, Eboni K. Williams is brushing off the accusation that she’s somehow dooming the longstanding series.

“From my experience in television, any expectation to carry ratings around a program will go to the veteran talent,” she noted.

Plenty of newcomers aren’t well liked (albeit Eboni’s case is more complicated) without it impacting ratings, because the OG’s make up the difference.

“So I think it’s nonsense to correlate the ratings performance of a 13-year series to a freshman talent,” Eboni stated.

She added: “I just don’t buy it.”

The ball would be in the court of Luann, of Ramona, of Sonja … of everyone else, even Leah, before the newest face.

Eboni also noted that, in many cases, television ratings have been down.

She explained that the ratings decline may have less to do with the show itself than it does with the “viewing habits of our nation.”

“People are not watching appointment television the way they used to two or even three years ago,” Eboni explained.

“That’s the reality,” Eboni affirmed.

“The other reality is RHONY‘s ratings were disproportionately up last season,” she added.

This was the case “because the series premiered in April of 2020.”

“Which was literally the inauguration, like the kickoff of the lockdown of a national and global lockdown,” Eboni accurately characterized.

She summarized the situation: “People literally had nowhere else to go.”

Meanwhile, while going out on the town can be hazardous as the unmasked and unvaccinated prolong this pandemic needlessly, more people are going out.

Infamously, Ramona and Luann have both whined that they have to learn about other people now that Eboni’s on the show.

Recently, Eboni hosted a party that showcased elements of Black history.

Some of her castmates feigned surprise at the topics and convsersations that followed.

“They knew exactly what to expect,” Eboni clarified in the interview.

“I let them know that there would be learning about the history of iconic Harlem,” she added.

Eboni specified: “I told them verbally in the invitation.”

Notably, Sonja even brought her reading glasses with that in mind.

“If you look back at the scene, you’ll see her putting them on,” Eboni added.

She explained: “She knew she was going to get an education.”

Eboni explained that she is far from the first Housewife on the show to talk about history and culture.

“Sonja Morgan took everybody to Philadelphia to go to the Morgan library and hear the history of John P. Morgan [and the] family legacy,” she recalled.

“Which is great,” Eboni continued, “that’s considered interesting.”

“So it’s only when … it’s accompanied by this Black American education,” Eboni said, “now the event becomes boring.”

“[That] tells me what you’re bored by is the learning and education of Black American life,” she expressed.

Yes. Either that, or people are unwilling to express their true feelings, and claim to be “bored” when they’re really uncomfortable.

RHONY Midseason 13 Promo

Sometimes, learning new information makes you uncomfortable. That’s life!

But when white fragility is used to silence Black voices, whether the stakes are high or as low as they are for talks amongst the Housewives, that’s not good.

It is hoped that Bravo will ignore the calls to oust Eboni. If the network loses some white insecurity among their viewers, well, that’s a good thing.

Andy Cohen Quashes RHONY Shakeup Rumors: We’re Making ONE Big Change …

For weeks, it has been reported that Bravo is considering a major shakeup for The Real Housewives of New York City.

There have even been rumors that RHONY might shut down for a while, giving production time to work things out.

In a new interview, Andy Cohen is clarifying what’s true and what’s just a rumor.

He’s also talking about the other shows, too.

RHONY Midseason 13 Promo

Andy Cohen spoke to Entertainment Tonight to clear the air as much as he can without, you know, saying too much.

For one thing, he called the rumors of “chaos” behind-the-scenes in New York “totally untrue.”

Those rumors have seemed to circulate among people who think that Eboni K. Williams discussing her lived experiences is a personal attack.

“Is there a shakeup coming?” Andy said. “I would say, well, listen.”

“I think we shot this season during COVID,” he noted, referring to the still ongoing pandemic.

“And the world was shut down as we shot a show that is — a huge part of The Real Housewives of New York City is reliant on New York City as the character in the show,” he noted.

“And New York City was shut down during production,” Andy acknowledged.

“So, we had to spend extended time at [Ramona Singer]’s house and in Salem,” he explained.

“And just doing things,” Andy reasoned, “that maybe otherwise life would have been different.”

“So I think that the show will continue to evolve,” Andy expressed vaguely.

“And I think that if anything, we should add to the group,” he suggested.

Andy explained that this would be a good idea “because I think people wanted to see more people.”

“But I don’t know that in producing the show this season that we would have done much differently,” Andy added.

He noted: “We were facing a lot of different obstacles when we went into production.”

Though he did not go into it, many have suggested that any “shakeup” that removed Eboni after one season would be catering to white fragility and nothing more.

Andy also explained that the time was right to return Heather Dubrow to The Real Housewives of Orange County.

“I think it was the right time,” he expressed.

“Not only because I think the fans were asking for it,” Andy clarified, “but it’s always fun to bring back an old friend and see an old friend.”

“But also,” Andy continued, “I think it was a great time to get back to some of the aspirational luxury that the Orange County franchise launched with.”

Andy explained that it’s that kind of aspiration that was part of the show’s concept “and that Heather certainly represents.”

So what about the rumors that Heather and Gina aren’t going to get along at all?

“I think they’re going to be pleasantly surprised,” Andy predicted of how fans will view Gina and Heather’s interactions.

Season 16 of the landmark series will have more casting news eventually, and is expected to launch later this year or early next year.

Andy did not rush to confirm rumors that Tamra Judge will return already.

“I think Tamra — as I’ve said many times — was one of the greats,” Andy expressed.

“And I hope at some point, either now or in the future, we’ll do more with her,” he added.

“I don’t know when,” Andy clarified, “but I think that would be great.”
