On this week’s The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Erika Jayne fully threw Tom under the bus.
She attacked his mental state and behavior, and described his previous car accident as being worse than anyone knew.
Erika has actually spoken about that accident before — years ago, right after it happened.
At the time, her description was very different. What is the truth?
Erika Jayne told her castmates that Tom Girardi’s now-infamous car accident was much worse than she had suggested.
According to her, she did not share some of these details at the time to “respect Tom’s privacy.”
Erika told them that Tom had been unconscious for 12 hours after the accident, and broke his clavicle, his shoulder, his ankle, and sustained a brain injury.
Erika added that she had not worried about Tom’s unexplained absence at the time.
She had assumed that he was out with another woman, as there were apparently several such side pieces.
That only changed when Tom gained consciousness enough to call Erika for help.
What followed, she shared, was not the “superhuman” recovery that she had previously described of her elderly husband.
Instead, she said that she watched with horror as Tom’s cognitive abilities declined before her very eyes.
In addition to memory issues and repeating himself, his personality changed, making him quick to anger — and in total denial about his condition.
As you can see in the clip that we have included with this post, Erika gave a very different description of events shortly after the 2017 accident.
“It was fine,” Erika said, minimizing the severity of the accident that “could have been so much worse.”
Instead, she spoke about how the accident reminded her of how fragile life is, and how she could end up alone one day.
Erika did at least say that this was the first time that she had seen Tom as “not superhuman.”
He was, she described, in a lot of pain — pain that he was reluctant to acknowledge.
His broken ankle — the only injury that she described at the time — had been fitted with pins so that it would heal correctly.
Erika gave similar statements in the first half of 2018 while discussing Tom’s accident.
She told Michael Rapaport that Tom as “Perfectly healed; he’s great. He’s good.”
She spoke to noted plague enthusiast Jenny McCarthy, saying “He healed up so well he broke the pins, so he’s good.”
It is certainly both possible and completely understandable that Erika might not have wanted to share everything a few years ago.
At the time, there was no reason to share this information and nothing to be gained from it.
A lot of people praise a loved ones recovery or bravery while privately having a different experience. This is especially true with cognitive decline.
However, it cannot be a surprise to Erika that this is being used against her in the court of public opinion.
When you give two versions of an event to a large number of people, some are going to believe you one time or the other.
And some of your audience — in this case, made up of millions of viewers — is going to decide that you’re a liar and disbelieve anything that you say.

Viewers of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills aren’t the only ones asking what Erika Jayne really knew and when she knew it.
An attorney has been hired to delve into her finances and financial history.
That investigator is now explaining the potential case against her.
He has a lot of questions … not just about the money, but about Tom Girardi’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis.
Ronald Richards shared some of his informed legal opinions and spoke about his investigation in a recent podcast appearance.
Though his role obviously makes him a less than neutral party, it’s still interesting to hear all sides of this conversation.
He explained to Juicy Scoop what exactly he’s looking for, and some of this could actually help Erika. Maybe.
“The law firm had a lot of jewelry expenditures,” Richards noted.
He continued: “I can tell you that there’s a strong probability that a lot of the jewelry purchases went to his wife.”
That much seems likely, though claims that Tom cheated on Erika do raise at least some questions.
“I’m sure she’s just contending they’re gifts,” Richards noted.
“[But] on the legal side, you really can’t have millions of dollars worth of jewelry,” he insisted.
At least, Richards continued, not “where it’s client’s settlement money or wrongfully appropriated attorney’s fees or lender fees.”
Earlier this summer, Erika was spotted wearing a ring that those familiar with jewelry estimated to be worth $189,000.
In the aftermath of Tom being accused of embezzling millions from the orphans and widows of plane crash victims, it caused a stir.
However, Ronald Richards said that he’s not interested in anything that he would consider Erika’s personal belongings.
That doesn’t mean that she’s in the clear, however. Not if what she believes were gifts were bought with stolen funds.
“Hypothetically, if she got $1 million in jewelry, she’s going to have to cut a check for some of these jewelry purchases,” Richards predicted.
He explained that this would be “because it’s not really fair to the victims.”
Richards also spoke about Tom Girardi’s diagnosis. He has serious doubts.
“The doctor that examined him, the probate judge doesn’t have the same sort of sensitivities,” he said.
Richards continued: “if he’s willing to take an examination that’s based on just self-reporting, not MRIs or physical exams.”
“I think this is part of his desperate protection mechanism,” Richards accused.
“There was a lot of communications with Mr. Girardi to his family members, including Erika, close to the time he was about to be held in contempt,” he noted.
Richards then claimed: “Those would be inconsistent with someone that has dementia.”
That might depend upon the nature of the communications.
Dementia patients speak on the phone and even make calls all of the time.
Not everything “goes” at once.
However, this is where things might help Erika … potentially.
If Erika were to learn and then be able to prove or provide evidence that Tom is allegedly lying about the diagnosis, it could help.
At the very leash, Richards added, “it would show she’s not involved.”
Richards also doubts that Tom sustained a traumatic brain injury from his alleged car accident.
“There’s no medical records to collaborate any of that,” he claimed.
Richards accused: “She has an important narrative she’s trying to tell.”
Richards shared that he is also looking into where Erika is getting the money to pay her hefty attorney’s fees.
His suspicion is that she might be getting the money from a third party who could have received allegedly stolen funds from Tom.
However, Richards notes that this is not a criminal investigation, as Erika stole nothing — at worst, she might be liable financially.

Last week’s revelation that Erika Jayne had a screaming match with a producer was only the tip of the iceberg.
She feels that she has been betrayed by production and by Bravo as they edit her drama for the show.
The thing is that she’s stuck — she certainly can’t afford to quit The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
And Bravo isn’t likely to fire her any time in the near future.
An inside source opened up to The Sun about how things have deteriorated between the network and the Pretty Mess.
“Erika’s relationship with Bravo isn’t in the best of places now for a few reasons,” the insider described.
The source added that this has been “mostly because she feels that she has been hung out to dry.”
“She promised them that she would be more open before the season started,” the insider illuminated.
Erika reportedly made this promise, the source explained, “because of criticism she’d faced about not sharing enough.”
“Unfortunately, that promise came back to bite when she announced her divorce,” the insider highlighted.
The source explained that she regretted that decision “because producers wanted her to address everything directly.”
“When the other cast mates refused to probe any deeper on camera,” the insider began.
The source continued: “Garcelle was encouraged to ask the difficult questions.”
According to the insider, Erika is feeling “hurt” and betrayed by the production team.
It’s not just that she worries that they do not believe her, perhaps thinking her complicit or at least to have had prior knowledge of Tom’s alleged crimes.
But the editing of last week’s episode “made her look bad.”
Has Erika considered leaving the show after this season? According to the insider, yes.
But ultimately, she cannot turn down this hefty paycheck from Bravo.
She’s had to downgrade her lifestyle, and if she remains a Housewife, the opportunities to promote her projects and brands are endless.
“Bravo isn’t going to fire her,” the source predicted.
The insider explained that this is “because the legal case could easily span over two seasons.”
The drama could be ongoing “and guarantee blockbuster ratings.”
“She really feels like she’s in an impossible situation,” the source pointed out.
“But,” the insider continued, “has been advised by her camp not to call out the producers publicly.”
This is “because she has to work with them for the foreseeable.”
Meanwhile, the source shared that Erika is “pissed” at her former castmate, Lisa Vanderpump.
Several months ago, Lisa made a definite dig at Erika on Watch What Happens Live.
Erika felt that the question was “set up to embarrass her,” the insider shared, and that it was hypocritical for Lisa to do so.
“Lisa then jabbed her again during a recent episode of podcast,” the source pointed out.
“And,” the insider continued, “it really pissed Erika off.”
Erika is mad “because she feels that Bravo has done or will do little to address Lisa’s legal woes.”
“But — as far she sees it, encouraged her to address hers for ratings,” the source stated.
“She really doesn’t like Lisa,” the insider alleged.
“In her mind, she is in no position to talk about ethics and morals,” the source explained.
“And is annoyed that she is being criticized,” the insider continued.
The source concluded that this is very frustrating “while Lisa’s alleged problems are swept under the rug.”
One can imagine that Erika would feel that way and even understand why … assuming that this inside source has an accurate scoop.
Last week’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills ended on a strange note.
Erika Jayne snapped at Garcelle Beauvais, accusing her of betraying their friendship, leaving Garcelle baffled.
Apparently there was a lot more to this story that we didn’t see on the actual episode.
In fact, Lisa Rinna says that Erika had a screaming match with a producer that we all should have seen.
After last week’s episode, Lisa Rinna took to Instagram to reveal that something major was left out.
“Dang it . . . I wish they had shown the screaming fight,” her Story post began.
It was a fight “between the producer and Erika last night on the show in La Quinta.”
“Now that would have been epic TV,” Lisa remarked.
It would break the fourth wall, but it would certainly be entertaining.
She commented: “Too bad.”
“Bravo Bravo F–king Bravo,” Lisa quipped.
This was an obvious reference to Denise Richards’ desperate attempts to sabotage filming last season.
Lisa then predicted that she would “get in trouble” for the post.
Lisa might not get into trouble.
Behind-the-scenes glimpses can sometimes increase interest in a show, and draw back viewers.
And just because we didn’t see the screaming match last week doesn’t mean that it will never air.
Before we delve into that possibility, however, let’s look at what the screaming match may have been about.
According to what someone close to the stars has told multiple sites, this was never about Garcelle.
Instead, Erika was reportedly furious with production for using Garcelle to get to her.
Allegedly, Erika had a private conversation with Crystal Kung Minkoff and producers heard some of that through a hot mic.
Hoping to get usable footage on the topic, they apparently prompted Garcelle to touch on certain topics.
Erika’s anger exploded when she realized what had happened.
The prompting is fairly standard for reality television.
The conversations may be real, but producers will say “oh hey, can you guys talk about the thing?” so that they can capture it on camera.
Of course there’s an agenda, but feeding someone questions or topics to bring up is still a far cry from a convo being fake.
We mentioned the possibility that viewers might get to see this blowup screaming match anyway.
That would be because it could air at the Reunion special.
We could also see it elsewhere, like on Watch What Happens Live.
Erika has strongly confirmed that she will be at the Reunion special despite the obvious sensitivity of the topics surrounding her life and storyline.
The Reunion can be a venue for never-before-seen footage and for events not previously aired to be explained.
Whether it will come up … we don’t know. But it would be interesting to hear how it all went down.
Keep in mind that we have seen Real Housewives air Housewives screaming at producers before.
One memorable example actually took place at a Reunion, during a Vicki Gunvalson meltdown.
It might do viewers good to have more context, especially since we have to remember that a lot of them only watch the show, and do not keep up with the stars on social media.
Only time will tell what makes it to air.
Erika is in a precarious position, given the very real possibility that some of what she says and does on TV could be used against her.
Editors and producers have a lot of power over where her life goes right now. That’s an intense situation.

Viewers of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have seen Erika Jayne break down as her life falls apart.
Garcelle Beauvais arrived to join the group’s getaway, and was playing catchup with Erika’s downfall.
Like the rest of us, she had some real questions, and Erika opened up.
This later led to Erika lashing out at Garcelle, and it was ugly.
In La Quinta, Erika had already opened up to her castmates about the fallout with Tom Girardi.
On a hike with Garcelle and with Crystal Kung Minkoff, Garcelle asked some thoughtful questions of Erika.
“It’s a new story every day,” Erika confessed. “There’s a hearing today in Chicago, I don’t know what about. I’ll find out.”
Garcelle acknowledged that Erika was not part of Tom’s business, asking if she instead received an allowance.
“No, I didn’t get an allowance,” she clarified.
In terms of the house and finances, “all of that” was managed by Tom and kept out of her hands.
In a confessional, Erika added that most of what she did was on credit cards, though she would get cash from Tom at times when she asked.
But when it came to work: “It’s not my business, it’s not my law firm, I’m not a lawyer.”
Erika also insisted that she did not receive an early warning about the lawsuits.
“No, I did not. This was a long time coming, a long battle with someone whose personality has completely changed,” Erika lamented.
“Three years ago, he had a terrible, terrible head injury,” she recalled.
“And,” Erika described, “there was a significant shift in his personality, decision making and who he is. There was severe decline.”
Erika described how Tom’s moodiness would lead to “rage” if she pointed out when he repeated himself.
She felt “like I was a whipping boy,” she expressed.
“The anger, frustration, I took it all,” Erika said. “I think he denied it to himself, this isn’t happening. I’m so f–ked up mentally.”
Erika shared that she didn’t believe that Tom was deliberately attempting to defraud anyone, but that a traumatic brain injury caused the behavioral shift.
“The calls I was getting from his lawyers at his firm, one of his lawyers calling on the phone to me, ‘We have to do something,'” Erika described.
She added: “What is it we can do? Such a bizarre ending to a career, you know?”
Erika admitted that it was hard to get calls from Tom: “I had to ask my attorney to call his attorney and ask, ‘Please stop calling Erika.'”
“It’s just horrible, ‘I love you, miss you, come home, are you sure?'” she said of Tom’s calls.
She added: “I’m like, stop, you have to stop honey, you need help and I can’t give it.”
Back at the house and around others, Garcelle remarked upon the tragedy of Erika’s situation.
“Erika shared, if you don’t mind me saying, that Tom calls her,” she began in front of the others.
“I do mind you saying that, because I feel like you’re betraying my friendship right now,” Erika snapped.
“But please, have your moment. Go ahead. Go ahead, babe,” Erika snipped.
“I don’t want to do it like that,” assured a visibly surprised Garcelle.
“So let me tell the f–king story. Tom calls me all the time. I won’t take his call,” Erika expressed angrily.
“And you got it out of me once and now you want to do it again,” Erika accused. “Don’t f–king sugar coat it.”
Garcelle never meant to stir the pot, she shared, but Erika felt that she was sharing a private admission.
“Sometimes not everything is up for discussion,” Erika said. “I’ve been very open and very honest, so I think that was dirty.”
“You didn’t have to do it twice, Garcelle. You did it once, you didn’t have to do it again,” Erika scolded her.
“You did it twice. You already got it once, you didn’t have to do it in front of them. Once was enough,” she reiterated.
Sobbing, she walked off, saying: “There’s only so much I can take right now, guys. I just wanna go to the bathroom for a bit.”
After Erika left, Crystal explained that this was a simple miscommunication.
Erika had expressed that she didn’t want to talk about Tom’s calls, but she’d told Crystal — not Garcelle.
Garcelle hadn’t heard or realized, while in Erika’s emotional state, it felt to her like a betrayal.
