The Bachelorette: Leading Ladies Ranked By Relationship Length!

If The Bachelorette spoilers are any indication, Clare Crawley will be handing out the roses this summer on the long-running show.

Her age, 38, has been the topic of many headlines, but 38 is far from old. It’s just mature. As in Clare is ready to find a life partner.

Yet if look at the venerable franchise’s track record, however, the Californian’s odds of long-term success are mixed at best.

Why do we say that?

Isn’t it obvious? This is a dating competition throwing two people together under a pretense that is literally impossible to sustain.

Can they transition into real life, establish a new normal and make it work? They can, but often times, they fall short of that goal.

Which stars made it work?

Which flamed out fast?

We have ranked the 16 stars of The Bachelorette based on who was most successful at finding love during her stint as queen.

See how they stack up from worst to first, and see if C-squared can find what some (if not all) of her predecessors have found …

1. Hannah Brown

Hannah brown picture
Our most recent Bachelorette, Hannah Brown a.k.a. Hannah Beast a.k.a. Alabama Hannah a.k.a. Beast Mode, comes in first, or last, depending on your point of view. Hannah got engaged to Jed Wyatt on The Bachelorette, but that was over by the time we got to the After the Final Rose special, at which point she asked out runner-up Tyler Cameron. (That short-lived romance fizzled also.) Hopefully Clare can clear this very low bar.

2. Jen Schefft

Jen schefft
Bachelorette Jen Schefft broke up with winner Jerry Ferris on the After the Rose special because she just “wasn’t feeling it.” Not even making it to the day after the finale? As we saw with Hannah Brown, Jen set a low bar set for everyone else at least.

3. Clare Crawley

Clare crawley the bachelorette
Clare Crawley’s journey hasn’t even started filming yet, but even if The Bachelorette’s 2020 season ends in shambles, you can’t flame out harder than Jen or Hannah B., so she’s already ahead two spots in these rankings!

4. Emily Maynard

Emily maynard bachelorette photo
Emily Maynard and Jef Holm broke up just a few months after his proposal in 2012. He was never the right guy anyway. Should’ve picked Sean Lowe. Not that she or Sean (who is happily married to Catherine Giudici, who he met on The Bachelor) are overthinking it right now. Sean and Catherine are about as happy as a couple can be, while Emily has since married and had a bunch of kids with Tyler Johnson.

5. Andi Dorfman

Andi dorfman and josh murray on the bachelorette
Andi Dorfman found love with Josh Murray on The Bachelorette, a move that she seemed destined to make from the start despite a lot of red flags. The heart wants what it wants, we suppose … including breakups. Unfortunately, their engagement ended after only six months or so.

6. DeAnna Pappas

Deanna pappas stephen stagliano picture
DeAnna Pappas and Jesse Csincsak broke up seven months after their finale aired. Silver linings: Her journey introduced us to Jason Mesnick, one of the more popular contestants in franchise history, and DeAnna went on to marry Stephen Stagliano, a high school teacher and the twin brother of former Bachelorette contestant Mike Stagliano!

Hannah Brown: Why Did She Pass on The Bachelorette Return?

On Monday, Clare Crawley was announced as the Bachelorette, shaking up the show’s paradigm and surprising Bachelor Nation.

But with all of the reports about Hannah Brown being courted to repirse the role, fans want to know why that didn’t happen.

Us Weekly got a detailed explanation from an inside source about why Hannah Beast is not returning to be The Bachelorette.

At least not this season.

“ABC was after Hannah to be the Bachelorette again,” the insider confirms to the mostly-reliable celebrity gossip site.

So what gives?

According to the source, producers had been “asking her for months” to once again be the leading lady looking for love.

“They really wanted her to do it” the insider adds. “But, obviously, it didn’t ultimately work out.”

Some reports claimed that Hannah wanted a higher salary for her comeback, but that’s not the whole story.

“It wasn’t just about the money,” the insider reveals. “There were specific things about the contract too.”

“Hannah had the biggest season,” the source says of her turn last summer, “and was hugely popular.”

“And so,” the source says, “it made sense for them to ask her.”

As many of us have heard people whine about or slut-shame Hannah for (gasp) sleeping with her boyfriends, those were just a vocal minority.

Hannah is well-liked by the Bachelor Nation overall, and that was reflected in her season’s ratings.

Apparently, Hannah was first approached for the role in December.

The insider shares that Hannah “was close to doing it at certain points.”

The source adds that “ultimately the deal didn’t make sense for her.”

Hey, nobody wants to watch a Bachelorette who doesn’t really want to be there.

That’s true no matter how much they love Hannah B.

“She loves Bachelor Nation and she never wants to disappoint them,” the insider emphasizes.

“But,” the source reiterates, “it just didn’t make sense for her.”

The insider affirms: “She’s moving forward with her life and career.”

Of course, some people believe that there’s another factor at play here: that Hannah is with someone.

Hannah and her Dancing WIth The Stars dance partner, Alan Bersten, were catching attention even before their dance floor victory.

Some viewers really hoped that the two of them were secretly together, despite repeated denials.

Not every ridiculously good-looking man in her orbit is her lover, folks. No matter how much you may like imagining otherwise.

Speaking of dudes associated with Hannah …

When Clare Crawley was announced for the role, a number of Bachelor fans declared that this was veritable proof that Hannah and Peter Weber (below) are together.

They think that Hannah turned down the chance to unleash the beast again because she’d already found her Forever Windmill.

Finding a significant other is a great reason to not return to the franchise, but there’s no reason to believe that she’s with Peter.

There’s a more likely reason for which Hannah might balk at a return to the small screen.

Though the majority applauded Hannah for her windmill revelation, a bitter and vocal few began to loudly slut-shame her on social media.

After she went through all of that and then gave her heart to a man who turned out to be a huge liar, maybe she’s had enough, right?

And we all know that ABC contracts for their leading stars basically mean that they “own” them for about a year.

Maybe Hannah would like to pursue her own interests without having to get permission for every interview or appearance.

Hannah Brown Might Be Getting a Second Chance as Bachelorette … And Fans Are PISSED!

If you’ve been following The Bachelor Spoilers, you know a lot about this season’s twists and turns — but not quite how it ends.

There’s a mystery afoot, and some folks think that Hannah Brown may come back to be Peter Weber’s choice.

Others think that she’ll come back, but not on The Bachelor.

Is Hannah Brown going to be the next Bachelorette? You have to admit that she got a raw deal after her final choice turned out to be a cheater.

Here’s everything that we know, including what Chris Harrison, Peter, and Hannah have been allowed to say so far.

1. Hannah: The Once and Future Bachelorette?

Hannah brown has a rose
Some fans hope for it, others simply fear it, but nobody’s saying “no” when it comes to the idea of Hannah getting another turn as The Bachelorette. That is … assuming that she’s not currently with Peter.

2. Let’s piece together the clues

Hannah brown is pensive
Obviously, producers on The Bachelor want to keep things an absolute secret until they’re good and ready to make an announcement, and they never want to overshadow the current star or spoil how the (so far pristinely unspoiled) season finale ends. But figuring out what’s going to happen is half of the fun, right?

3. First, there’s Hannah and Peter

Hannah brown and peter
It was extremely clear that they’re not over each other. And Peter was part of what made Hannah’s defining moment on her (first) season so memorable, even though he wasn’t on screen at the time.

4. Hannah was talking to Luke Parker

Hannah brown doesnt like what shes hearing
Luke P was handsome and he and Hannah had bonded a whole lot … but you can watch her face journey as she hears his creepy, controlling demands.

5. She told him OFF

Hannah brown you probably want to leave
In a polarizing moment that made plenty of us Hannah fans for life, Hannah told Luke that he should probably leave and take his bizarre sex-shaming nonsense with him.

6. Why?

Hannah brown i f ked in a windmill
Because she f–ked in a windmill. She f–ked in a windmill four times. And though she didn’t tell Luke this, the boning was done by Peter Weber. It’s probably a huge part of why they selected him to be the next Bachelor. That’s a good contrast from Colton, right?

Hannah Brown Claps Back Over Shady Jake Owen Song

Some very vocal The Bachelor viewers have been slamming Hannah Brown’s return on Peter Weber’s season, calling it unfair … and worse.

A Country singer even penned a song about Hannah. Chris Harrison liked it, and Hannah is clapping back.

Jake Owen is a Country singer. On Thursday, January 9, he shared a short video of himself singing about Hannah Brown.

It seems that he (playfully) has an issue with Hannah’s guest spot on Peter’s season.

“Monday night, my girlfriend had the damn TV on and all you heard about on the new Bachelor was Alabama Hannah,” Jake complains.

“It was just Alabama Hannah everywhere,” he characterizes. “She won’t go away.”

“Believe it or not, I met her on the last season of The Bachelorette,” Jake says.

He details: “I played ‘Made For You’ for them in I think it was like Rhode Island or something.”

“She’s a cool girl,” Jake acknowledges.

He emphasizes that his video and his song is “not even a dig at the actual Alabama Hannah.”

“Alabama Hannah, what do you want? / If it’s love that you need, well then honey, it’s gone,” Jake sings.

“You had your chances, so won’t you leave me alone,” he croons. “Alabama Hannah, won’t you go on back home.”

“I been out here in California, I’ve been soaking up the sun,” Jake goes on, singing from Peter’s perspective.

He continues: “There’s lots of pretty ladies, and I can’t pick just one.”

“I’m flying high, I got peace of mind,” Jake’s lyrics continue. “I already raised the bar.”

His song complains: “Now you’re showing up here tonight, who do you think you are?.”

“Alabama Hannah won’t you roll on with the tide. … Alabama Hannah, honey, get out of my life,” Jake sings.

In additional lyrics, he refers to her as both a “beauty queen” and “dancing star,” referring to her pageant past and her Dancing With The Stars win.

“Well I guess you think you messed up since you seen me moving on,” Jake sings.

He accuses her of “Thinking we could pick up, right where we left off.”

“But you got to lay in the bed you made, and I hate to let you down,” Jake sings, again from Peter’s perspective.

“Girl this ain’t no windmill,” he jokes. “We can’t go round and round.”

Chris Harrison clearly appreciated the song (and the free hype for the show), and tweeted to that effect.

“My man @jakeowen speaking his truth to Hannah B on behalf of Peter #TheBachelor,” he acknowledged on Twitter.

Real talk, it is an absolute dream for any show to have people writing songsa bout it for free.

The whole reason that producers wanted Hannah on Season 24 was because she is polarizing.

Hannah saw Chris’ tweet and clapped back.

“Better just be his truth Christopher,” she cautioned.

“I’m not just chop liver now,” she rminded him.

Hannah joked: “You still have to love me and try to understand my mess. @chrisbharrison.”

Chris offered a good-natured reply.

“Haha you know I’ll always love you girl,” he wrote to Hannah.

He affirmed “You’re family and family sticks together through the good the bad and the mascara…”

“Now that’s a country song,” Chris ended his tweet.

Hannah Brown Could Be The Bachelorette Again, Chris Harrison Threatens

Hannah Brown’s controversial appearance on The Bachelor made Peter Weber consider quitting the show to be with her.

The people who can’t stand her had better buckle up, because Chris Harrison is discussing giving her another season of The Bachelorette.

This week, during the ABC Winter Television Critics Association Winter Press Tour, Chris Harrison dropped a bombshell to multiple outlets.

He revealed that Hannah Brown could potentially return as the leading lady on The Bachelorette.

“Anything can happen,” he teased the crowd.

Chris admitted: “It’s not out of the realm of possibilities.”

Whether Hannah “can” return is not the same as whether Hannah “should” return, of course.

“That’s a tough question,” Chris confesses when faced with the question of whether she should be the leading lady again.

He admits: “I don’t know.”

“I’m not against it,” Chris clarifies as he considers the idea of Hannah once again going through suitors

“Obviously, she’s great TV,” Chris points out. That much is undeniable.

He then acknowledges: “But I could also see people that would rail against it.”

“So, I don’t know,” Chris remarks. “I think it’d be … compelling.”

“And, does she deserve it?” he asks rhetorically. “I don’t know if anyone deserves it.”

Earlier this week, Nick Viall spoke on the same subject on his podcast.

“I still think Hannah could be the Bachelorette again,” he acknowledged.

He expressed: “It wouldn’t surprise me.”

Few people understand the complex inner workings of that franchise like those who have been the leads on it.

“Hannah’s had a tough run in terms of the dating stuff,” Nick acknowledged.

“It didn’t work out with Jed,” he massively understated.

Nick speculated: “I think she shot her shot with Tyler, he kind of was like, ‘Meh.’”

“And that’s how, it kind of comes across,” he explained, referring to Hannah appearing on Peter’s season. “Like, just keep going down the list.”

As Chris says, Hannah is absolutely great television.

She’s a polarizing figure. Some of us fell head over heels in love with her during her “windmill” moment.

Others, however, decided to despise her instead. It was the biggest controversy of her season — despite all that we know about Jed.

And that is exactly why producers had Hannah show up on Peter’s season.

Remember this season during Bachelor in Paradise when certain viewers were flipping out over Demi being there?

Clearly, producers liked how polarizing that was for viewers, and wanted to replicate that success on Peter’s season.

That is why Hannah — who of course is contractually obligated towards ABC — is on Season 24.

Any drama that might play out between her and Peter is drama that producers want to capture on camera.

Exposing her so much to insults and vitriol, giving her the appearance of “overstaying her welcome,” isn’t doing Hannah any favors.

But it’s not meant to. This is ABC’s move for ABC’s benefit. They love when fans are talking.

It’s unlikely that they can make Hannah become The Bachelorette again, though. She would probably have to actually agree to it.

Would Hannah put herself through that gauntlet again if they ask her? We can only guess.

Peter Weber: I Wanted to Quit The Bachelor to Be With Hannah Brown!

While some viewers are crying foul about Hannah Brown’s return to TV to appear on Peter Weber’s season, how does The Bachelor himself feal?

It turns out that the moment that he saw her again, he felt an impulse to ditch the other contestants and run off with Hannah. Wow!

On the Season 24 premiere of The Bachelor, Peter Weber had an emotional reunion with his ex, Hannah Brown.

They dated on reality television. That’s a big deal.

They also porked four times in a windmill. Famously. And ABC is not shying away from that in the slightest.

It is only natural that they both have a lot of emotional baggage with each other … but for Peter, it nearly broke him.

Peter has opened up about his experience — just a little — and reflected upon what it was like to lock eyes with Hannah again.

He says that he had truly believed that he was over his ex until that moment.

But when he sees her, Peter admits, he just wants to kiss her and be with her.

That’s almost standard fare when it comes to seeing your ex again, if your breakup wasn’t too nasty.

Peter says that — at least from his perspective — the conversation with Hannah wasn’t planned.

A producer had simply told him that Hannah was in an emotional state, so he went to check on her.

They had a very emotionally charged conversation, which resulted in Hannah’s infamous mascara-smeared face.

Peter admitted to Hannah at that time that he didn’t feel like he should be anyone’s third choice.

Peter admitted to the camera that he, very reasonably, wanted to be with someone who desired him as much as he desires them.

He had been so confident that Hannah would choose him in the end.

Instead, Peter admits, he felt blindsided when she sent him packing on her season.

But even after all of that, part of him wants to be with Hannah and to send all of these unknown contestants packing.

Peter even confessed that “I definitely considered quitting the show in that moment.”

Does that sound bonkers to you? Even Peter knows that it was nuts to even think about missing out on this opportunity.

But Peter is very aware of his lingering feelings towards her.

If Hannah had asked him out instead of Tyler Cameron after she ditched Jed, Peter says that he would have been all for it.

Some viewers are absolutely outraged and incensed that Hannah is showing up at all on Peter’s season.

If you have been engaging on social media about The Bachelor, and especially if that engagement has taken place with older users, you know this.

Some feel that she has overstayed her welcome on teleision, between this and Dancing With The Stars.

Hannah is a very polarizing person. The “windmill” revelation that made so many of us fall in love with her made others despise and resent her.

This is exactly why producers wanted her back, of course. That Peter had such a strong reaction just makes it even better, from their perspective.
