Jinger Duggar Calls Josh A ‘Hypocrite’ In Furious Statement On Child Porn Conviction

It seems all of the Duggar family members are finally breaking their silence as they find the words to respond to Josh Duggar‘s child pornography conviction. This time it’s Jinger Vuolo. The 27-year-old was at ground zero the first time her brother was accused of a crime, after he confessed to his parents that he molested […]

Jill and Jedidiah to Testify at Josh Duggar Trial: Will They Help Convict Their Brother?

There is no end to the horrors of Josh Duggar’s trial.

Between gruesome evidence presented in the courtroom and the man’s sickening history, it’s hard to watch at times.

It must be even harder to testify.

Both Jedidiah and Jill Duggar are on the witness list. Are they there to cover for their disgraced brother, or put him away?

As Josh Duggar’s trial began, the judge read off the witness list.

Arkansas Judge Timothy Brooks included, among others, two very recognizable names:

Jill Dillard and Jedidiah Duggar, two of Josh’s siblings.

Various other Duggars (some by marriage) have appeared in court.

Anna, of course, has been attending her husband’s trial and standing by his side, to the neglect of her children.

On Wednesday, Jill’s husband Derick Dillard was seated in court.

Interestingly, Austin Forsyth was also spotted in the audience, seated near the back.

Eyewitnesses reported him seeming to ignore both his brother-in-law Derick and his sister-in-law, Anna.

Considering that Austin’s wife, Joy-Anna, has come up in such a grim context during this trial, one wonders what was on his mind.

When Josh was a teenager, he molested five young girls (that we know of), four being his own sisters.

Jill was among Josh’s victims, even identified herself as such to the public in 2015.

Alongside Jessa, she was marched out in front of the (Fox News, of course) cameras by Jim Bob to defend their brother.

But a lot has changed in the past six years, especially for Jill.

She has stepped further away from Jim Bob and the cult than any of her siblings.

It’s not just about wearing pants or getting a nose piercing or dyeing her hair blonde, either.

Jill’s husband has directly called out Jim Bob on his shady behavior, especially his dishonesty when it comes to finances.

The couple also plans to enroll their children in public schools, exposing them to the real world instead of cult-approved homeschooling.

There has been real blowback, including Jill being banned from the main Duggar house unless Jim Bob is present.

Derick also shared a couple of years ago that Jill is now in therapy.

Therapy — not religious counseling, not “treatment” that just involves prayer and manual labor — is antithetical to the Duggar cult’s way of doing things.

It could help Jill process the sexual abuse, as well as the physical, emotional, and mental abuse from growing up in that toxic household.

All of this together does not necessarily look like the backstory of someone who is willing to go to bat for a predator.

In 2015, many felt that Josh’s victims did not have a choice when it came to how to frame their feelings on their brother.

Their cult weaponizes ideas like grace and forgiveness, and also considered the exposure of Josh’s crimes in 2015 to be an “attack” by the devil himself.

In other words, to do anything but defend their brother would have been to side with Satan in a spiritual attack.

That sounds unhinged, but you have to remember that they were raised in a fundamentalist cult.

To them, they’re not an extreme group of Christians in a country that is 70% Christian — they see themselves as a tiny minority of “true” Christians in an evil world.

But as we said, a lot has changed for Jill since that time.

Very soon, perhaps mere hours after the publishing of this article, we may learn what Jill has to say six years later.

Sporting her new blonde locks, she could find herself even more on the outs with her extended family — but on the right side of history. Or not.

As for Jedidiah, he married Katey very abruptly just about eight months ago.

Recently, Jed and Katey fled Arkansas as if hoping to avoid the media firestorm and the stigma of Josh’s trial.

But if you’re called as a witness, that’s it — no state line will keep you from being asked to speak the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but.

It is possible that Jed is there to lend a voice of support for his brother.

Not all of the Duggars want to see him rot behind bars. In fact, some don’t even see him as a disgrace.

For reasons known only to her, Justin’s wife Claire Spivey was seen actually speaking to Josh. Our stomachs turn at the thought.

Jill Duggar Goes Blonde as Josh Duggar Trial Continues: New Hair, New Me!

Early this week, Jill Duggar braced herself for Josh’s trial

We can all understand why this is such a difficult time for some, especially his sisters.

Jill is keeping busy, and is unveiling her brand new hair.

Not only is she breaking Jim Bob’s infamous modesty rules, but there’s clear symbolism to this kind of change that makes it very timely.

This week, all eyes were on disgraced former reality star Josh Duggar as his trial begins.

The sick revelations from Josh’s trial have already been chilling and impossible to avoid.

It only makes sense that Jill wanted a way to engage with fans online without addressing one of her family’s most twisted monsters.

Jill is not the only person grappling with intense trauma who has realized that a superficial change can be therapeutic.

Haircuts and makeovers aren’t just a change — they can be deeply cathartic.

Deep down, a person can feel reborn. It doesn’t erase what’s happened or mend your emotional health, but it can still be good for you.

With that clearly in mind, Jill visited a hairstylist early this week.

Jill has sported the same thick, dark brown hair … well, forever, since it’s her natural color.

Now, she is trading that in for something much lighter.

“So … I did a thing today thanks to @michellegamboa hair,” Jill teased on Wednesday, December 1.

Hours later, she shared a video, which we have included with this article.

The clip shows a step-by-step process of Jill getting her hair professionally dyed a light blond.

There are more dramatic blondes — Jill could have aimed for platinum, had she chosen to.

Instead, she aimed for a light blonde, which was then styled in waves.

There’s something missing from the look … but what is it?

Maybe a “Viking hat” would complete it? (We jest)

Also … actual Vikings never wore those; they were an operatic invention.

Still, this honey blonde look is looking gorgeous, and Jill is clearly pleased.

“Lovin’ my new blonde look! Loved spending yesterday with you @michellegamvoahair,” Jill wrote.

“I picked up some purple shampoo today … y’all give me all your blonde tips and tricks below,” she invited her fans and followers.

For obvious reasons, the comments were willed with compliments and praise.

“Supporting” any of the Duggars, even the daughters — even Josh’s victims — can be a tricky task.

We’re talking about adult women who were raised in a cult that gives them dangerously skewed ideas about sex, consent, and forgiveness.

After Josh’s crimes were exposed in 2015, long before this trial, Jim Bob marched out a couple of his victims to defend him on television.

Jill has grown a lot since then.

Together with her husband, Derick Dillard, she has put a lot of distance between herself and many of her toxic relatives, including her awful father.

Jill still maintains a close bond with several of her sisters, but her deviation from Jim Bob has come at a cost.

Right now, Jill is enduring all of the downsides of being a Duggar — childhood trauma that will haunt her for life, the infamy of being Josh’s sibling — with very few of the “perks.”

It is a good thing that she was able to find a way to participate in social media this week, of all weeks.

In her shoes, how many of us would be brave enough to post anything to Instagram? To even look at our phones during the week of the trial?

Jill Duggar Counts Her Remaining Blessings Amidst Miscarriage, Josh’s Trial

This is an especially complicated time to be Jill Duggar.

Jill and Derick are mourning their miscarriage, something that Jill recently shared with the world.

Like the rest of her family, Jill is certainly very aware of her disgraced brother’s upcoming trial that begins this month.

Even will all of this weighing down on her, however, she’s counting her blessings in the sweetest way.

30-year-old Jill Duggar took to Instagram to share her autumnal antics.

She was not alone, as she spent time outside with her husband, Derick Dillard.

Their sons, 6-year-old Israel and 4-year-old Samuel, were also enjoying the cool (yet unseasonably warm) weather.

Jill shared their good times alongside a caption.

“The weather this weekend was lovely,” she affirmed on Instagram.

“And I’m thankful I got to enjoy it with my favorite people,” Jill wrote sweetly.

As is so often the case with Instagram posts, Jill included a number of tags.

One was “#CountingMyBlessings.”

Another read, more succinctly but in a similar vein, “#Blessed.”

In recent months, Jill and Derick have been focused upon healing.

This is because Jill suffered a miscarriage earlier this autumn.

“We recently found out that we were expecting our third baby,” the couple stated on their website last month.

“We were all thrilled! It was fun to see so much joy in the boys’ faces as we shared the news with them,” Jill and Derick recalled.

“They were full of questions,” they described, “and so excited as we talked about the pregnancy.”

“And,” the Dillards continued, “how they would get to be involved along the way and after baby was born.”

“However, a few days later we started miscarrying,” Jill and Derick revealed.

“Even though it was too early to tell the baby’s gender,” they shared, “we picked a name.”

It was a name “that we feel encompasses our baby’s significance and the life we will always remember: River Bliss Dillard.”

Jill shared that she was focused on “taking more family time.”

She wrote that she and Derick were “kind of regrouping and getting back into some normal rhythms.”

“Just wanted to hop on here and say thank you to family and friends who have reached out and supported us,” Jill expressed.

People close to her in real life had been showing her support in meaningful ways.

“Bringing us meals, cleaning our house, all the things,” Jill listed.

These are standard helpful things that loved ones do for each other after an illness or a loss. In this case, after both.

Of course, Jill is dealing with more than that.

She, like all of her family, is dealing in her own way with Josh Duggar’s latest scandal.

This time, Josh isn’t just in trouble with the public or TLC. He’s going to trial.

This spring, Josh was arrested by federal authorities on charges of receiving and possessing illegal material.

Downloads of photos and video of the sexual abuse of very young girls were traced to his computer.

These are serious crimes. Josh is currently on home confinement and awaiting trial.

Josh has an upcoming hearing on November 18.

Less than two weeks later, on November 30, his trial begins in earnest.

With any luck, this Thanksgiving could be his last with even a semblance of freedom for decades to come.

No matter the outcome, there will be blowback on the Duggar family — those who speak out and those who remain silent.

Some, like Jim Bob and Michelle, share responsibility for Josh’s wrongdoings over the years, having covered his past crimes and shaped him into who he is.

Others kept his secrets as adults until they were revealed, and know that public outrage is a drawback of being public figures.

Jill Duggar Shares "Bottle of Tears" While Grieving Miscarriage

Earlier this month, Jill Duggar revealed that she had suffered a miscarriage.

This heartbreaking loss has hit her and Derick, and she is sharing her grief on social media.

Jill is also sharing how she is coping.

Her most recent update shows a “bottle of tears,” a gift to help her feel a little less alone.

Jill Duggar spoke to her fans and followers, reminding them that no one is “alone in [their] pain.”

She has apologized for being relatively inactive in recent weeks on social media — something that we can all more than understand.

“I haven’t been keeping up much on here,” she acknowledged.

“But,” Jill wrote, she “wanted to share another gift that a friend sent.”

This was a gift “that blessed me so much today.”

The gift in question was included in a photo, a blue “bottle of tears.”

“This is a small token of hope to remind you that you are not alone,” the inspirational message read.

“There is purpose in your pain,” the note continued.

The note added: “God sees you, God loves you, and your story is not over.”

After sharing the news that they had suffered a miscarriage, Jill and Derick revealed their would-be child’s name.

They decided to name their lost baby River Bliss.

“Our baby doesn’t get to live here with us on earth, but is forever with the source of the river of life, in the presence of the Lord!” Jill wrote.

“And we chose Bliss for a middle name because our baby is living in perfect bliss with the Lord,” Jill explained.

“And was such a gift that brought immense joy and happiness to us,” she added.

Jill wrote that this was the case “even though only with us here on earth for a short time.”

One does not have to share Jill’s particular religious background to grieve a miscarriage.

This kind of loss can hit home for someone of any faith or someone who is not religious at all.

However, Jill’s beliefs and those of her extended family can further complicate their grief.

Within the fundamentalist beliefs of the Duggar world, having many children is a source of pride.

In addition to a display of virility and material success, it is at times seen as a sign of divine favor within their subculture.

There is an obvious implication within those beliefs — that miscarriages or failure to conceive are signs of disfavor.

We know that Michelle and Jim Bob have inaccurately blamed one previous miscarriage upon birth control.

Those of us who are not members of a fertility cult also understand that miscarriages are normal, many happening before people realize that they’re pregnant.

Jill has distanced herself from some of her parents’ more extreme beliefs, but upbringings like hers are not easily shaken.

Something much more common within Christianity that can make this hard for Jill and Derrick is their belief in purpose.

Because they believe that things happen according to a divine plan and divine will, this (and all) miscarriages are intentional.

At the same time, however, their beliefs bring them comfort.

Jill and Derick believe that, spiritually speaking, a fetus is a complete person — not in body, but in soul.

Due to this ideological premise, they believe that River’s soul is now enjoying everlasting reward in the Christian afterlife.

In fact, they expect to be reunited (or, arguably, united) upon their own deaths when they enter that same afterlife.

We do not have to share all, or even any, of Jill’s beliefs in order to feel for her in her grief or understand how she is processing this.

We hope that their family can process this grief and heal in their own way.

Loss is traumatic. Our thoughts go out to the Dillards and to all people and families who have gone through this.
