Sister Wives: Polygamy Rules! Massive Amounts of Wives For All!

Over the past several weeks on Sister Wives, viewers have witnessed some major tension between Kody Brown and his spouses.

On Sunday night’s finale, however, viewers witnessed something else entirely:

A major bonding session between Janelle and Christine.

During the installment, Janelle’s daughter, Maddie, was two days away from her due date — and Christine went over to her house to lend a hand.

“I’m glad that Christine’s here now,” explained Janelle, adding:

“It’s just extremely helpful to me to have another person here,

Christine quickly noted that “monogamists don’t have that luxury” of having such a great support system, seemingly using this opportunity to defend plural marriage.

This defense came in the wake of the Sister Wives themselves admitting that their family culture was eroding.

“The way that our family came together. The roles weren’t so ‘These are my kids, these are your kids,’” Janelle said of the situation.

“We’ve always been pretty compatible and our children have always been born neck and neck — like, you had one, I had one…

“Christine and I did a lot more coteam, coparenting, just because we had the bulk of the children.”

Both women, of course, are married to Kody, with whom Christine just celebrated an anniversary.

Janelle went on to note that Maddie is quite close to Christine, more than the other wives, Robyn or Meri Brown.

“Robyn has her hands full in Flagstaff, Meri works like a maniac,” Janelle said. “So it just made a lot of sense for a lot of seasons for Christine to be the one that came out.”

For the record, Kody has 18 kids overall. No, that is not a typo.

Janelle married the self-centered reality star in 1993 and has six kids with him:

Logan, 25, Maddie, Hunter, 23, Robert, 21, Gabriel, 18 and Savanah, 15.

Christine and Kody got hitched the following year in 1994 and she also has six kids:

Aspyn, 25, Mykelti, 23, Paedon, 21, Gwendlyn, 18, Ysabel, 16, and Truely, 9.

While the signiciant issue of whether or not the Browns are gonna live under the same roof in Arizona wasn’t resolved on the finale, Maddie did give birth.

In dramatic fashion.

We saw her water break, meaning it was time to get to the birthing center in her new home of North Carolina.

However, it quickly became evident that while Maddie had a very long labor with her son, Axel, things were going to be different — and much more serious — this time around.

“The contractions are intense,” Christine said at one point, while husband Caleb had trouble getting to his wife’s side and Christine late added:

“It’s all of a sudden very complicated.”

Sure enough, an ambulance was then seen arriving… as Janelle revealed the baby was being taken to UNC in an incubator — and Caleb looked on in shock about the situation.

“What in the world is going on with my daughter?” he asked on air.

As fnas likely already already know, Evangalynn Kodi was born on August 20, 2019.

She suffered from a birth defect known as FATCO: fibular aplasia, tibial campomelia and oligosyndactyly syndrome.

The little girl was missing a thumb and a toe at birth, along with one leg was missing a calf bone. She also had two fingers fused together and a bowed shinbone.

Maddie recently opened up about the condition, and we continue to keep her in our thoughts.

Sister Wives Reveal: How are They Handling Social Distancing?

How is this for some rich irony:

Over the course of the last several Sister Wives episodes, Kody Brown and his spouses have been arguing about whether they’ll one day live under the same large roof in a new Arizona mansion.

And, hey, maybe they will.

Right now, however? In the wake of the ongoing Coronavirus outbreak and resulting shelter-at-home orders across the country?

Kody and his spouses can’t even see each other, let alone live together.

So, what are the reality stars up to these days? How are they spending their time during this historic and frightening outbreak?

Courtesy of the cast talking to Us Weekly, we actually have some answers. Scroll down to read them…

1. A New Normal

Brown kody
“Normal life has ceased for me, my wives and our family. We’re all working from home, however, some of us are not able to do necessary travel for work, and some of our entire industries are shut down,” Kody tells the magazine.

2. It’s Better for Some Than Others

Kody will cut you
Continued Kody along these lines: “Two of my wives run an online business so they are still working remotely but they aren’t able to do some of the in-person tasks they normally do. Overall there have been some setbacks and some things have slowed down significantly.”

3. Is Kody in Contact with His Wives?

Kody cant handle this
Yup. “We’re still in contact and talking a lot, but because nothing is going on in our lives, life has gotten a bit boring. There’s not much to discuss other than checking in on the kids, who are doing school from home,” the father of 18 (!!!!) says.

4. No News, For Now, Is Good News… Right?

Kody brown for sister wives
“There’s no new news within our family but obviously we’re keeping updated about the news of the world,” he continued. “Instead of talking about the weather we’re talking about coronavirus. The discussions have shifted to obsession! We’ve been asking each other, ‘Do you have any friends or know anybody who has it?’ Other than that, there’s not much else to talk about.”

5. How Have Lives Changed?

Kody brown gives a confessional
“We’ve severed family gatherings completely,” says Kody. “I’ve been contacting family by phone. Me and my wives have done a couple of conference calls and we’ll probably do more where we update each other on everything going on within our family.”

6. Christine? What Have You Been Up To?

Happy anniversary to us
“We’ve been doing embroidery, cross-stitching and crocheting,” Christine told Us Weekly. “I’m teaching the girls how to do more handiwork.”

Sister Wives: Are Meri and Kody FINALLY Giving Up on Their Marriage?!

Do you remember when Meri and Kody had a great, solid relationship?

Yeah, us neither.

That’s because we’ve actually never seen it in the ten years that Sister Wives has been on the air.

In the beginning, they struggled with their inability to have more children, and Meri had a hard time with the fact that Kody had other wives.

And since then, it’s all kind of just descended into the chaos that’s happening now.

We’ve seen Meri and Kody get divorced (since she was his first wife, they were the only ones with a legal marriage) so that he could marry Robyn and adopt her three children from her first marriage.

We’ve seen Meri develop what many considered to be romantic feelings for a man she met online who turned out to be a great big catfish.

And we’ve seen them fight over all this and more for years at this point.

It’s not good.

In this season of Sister Wives, Kody’s really reached a breaking point with Meri — we heard him say more than once that he thinks she plays mind games with everyone in the family and that he can’t take it anymore.

And judging by this new sneak peek, it’s starting to look like they may finally be ready to throw in the towel.

The clip begins with Meri and Kody getting into a car together, and Meri says in a voiceover that they’re heading back to Las Vegas for a visit with their old family therapist, Nancy.

“I’m very guarded about this,” she says, explaining that “Kody and I, our relationship has been pretty rocky for a while, and on occasion we make a decision to address it and actually go see our therapist.”

In past seasons, they visited this therapist a lot, and we saw Kody push this a lot too so that they could work out issues in a more controlled environment with some help.

It seems like he’s not too worried about that anymore — not a great sign.

In his own confessional, Kody says that “Meri and I’ve just soft-pedalled this for so long. In fact, Meri, I feel like, you know she’s said ‘Can we get a little deeper?'”

“I think she’s felt like we need to make a step deeper into our relationship.”

“Can’t just keep doing this sort of ‘scratching the surface’ thing,” he continues, “and so seeing Nancy is a safe way to actually go ‘What are we questioning here, what are we thinking?'”

He also says that “Honestly it’s time, it’s time for us to actually kind of take the temperature of our relationship.”

Sounds kind of ominous, right?

That’s because it is.

They arrive in Las Vegas at their therapist’s office, and they greet each other warmly because they do go way back — and with all the issues they’ve had, they’ve seen each other quite a bit over the years.

Meri and Kody say that they’re doing good, and Nancy makes a joke that no one goes to their therapist if things are good, which is fair.

But Kody comes back with “Maybe we come to the therapist because things want to get better.”

It seems like Meri agrees with that sentiment, because back in her confessional, she says that she would want to see the therapist every other week “if Kody was up for it.”

“I’d just like to get the situation resolved and move forward with it, but I’m not gonna push the situation either though, I don’t think it’s safe to do that.”

Back at the appointment, Nancy shows them the file she’s kept on them over the years, and she says it’s one of the biggest files she has.

It’s a big stack of papers that’s several inches thick, and Kody and Meri both seem a bit shock and how much is there.

In the confessional, Meri says that “Either there’s not a lot of hope for us because this file is so thick, or it just shows our persistence.”

She does admit that “It’s kind of ridiculous.”

That’s where the clip ends.

But thanks to another recent sneak peek, we know a little bit about how the session goes — we know at one point while they’re there, Meri says that “The relationship between he and I is gone. It’s dead. It’s over.”

So it sounds like things are pretty hopeless, huh?

We’ll have to wait until the episode airs to see more about how things go, but it’s hard to imagine it has a happy ending.

The question is, how much longer can they possibly keep going like this?

Meri Brown: My Relationship with Kody is OVER!!!

Things between Meri and Kody Brown have been bad for a very, very, very long time.

If you’ve ever watched basically any episode of Sister Wives, you know that.

They’ve said that their relationship hasn’t been great for years and years, but things obviously got much worse a few years ago when they got divorced.

Since Meri was Kody’s first wife, they were the only ones who were legally married — he had “spiritual marriages” with Janelle, Christine, and Robyn.

But the family decided that since Robyn had three children from a previous marriage, the smart thing to do would be for Meri and Kody to get divorced so that he could legally marry Robyn, which would be necessary for him to adopt those kids.

It made sense, but it obviously hurt Meri very much.

Around this same time, she began speaking with her catfish, and although she maintained it was just a friendship, lots of people (including her own daughter) thought that she’d developed romantic feelings for that person.

She even admitted that she’d considered leaving Kody during this time.

As we saw on the show, things were very strained with Meri and Kody for a long time after this, and they’re still not doing too well.

But as we see in this new sneak peek for the upcoming episode, things may be completely beyond repair.

The clip begins with the two of them traveling to an appointment with their therapist, and in a confessional, we hear Meri say that “Our relationship has been pretty rocky.”

“People ask me all the time why I don’t leave,” she continued.

In his own confessional, Kody says “Meri and I had a very fast courtship. I didn’t know who I was marrying.”

But then comes the big shocker.

During their actual therapy session, Meri flat-out says “The relationship between he and I is gone, it’s dead, it’s over.”

The therapist asks her if she’s serious — she seems a bit taken aback by the statement.

Unfortunately, we’re going to have to wait until the episode airs to hear Meri’s response, although she does sound pretty certain about it.

Back in the confessional, Kody says “I am just done with hearing how I am wrong.”

And that’s it — that’s the clip.

We have to remember that this is a reality show, and it’s also a sneak peek for a reality show, so sometimes footage is spliced up in a way that will hopefully entice people to tune in.

But still, there aren’t too many ways to read Meri gesturing to Kody and saying that their relationship is dead, you know?
