Amber Portwood Scores Courtroom Victory vs. Andrew Glennon Ahead of Custody Trial

Just a couple of weeks ago, the court-ordered drug tests for Amber Portwood and Andrew Glennon came back.

Both were cleared, but that’s only one small part of their ongoing custody war.

Amber has scored a recent victory in that struggle, albeit a small one.

Is this minor setback for Andrew a stepping stone for Amber to take more control over 3-year-old James’ life?

The Sun reports that Amber Portwood filed a motion recently regarding her ex, Andrew Glennon.

The motion was requesting that Andrew be given less time to her “Interrogatories and Request for Production of Documents.”

In other words, Amber is demanding that Andrew file his official response, including documents, by February 28.

That makes it less than three weeks after the date on which he was initially served the request for documents.

Amber’s legal team argued that the “requested answers and documentation are necessary” to prepare for the upcoming custody trial.

In other words, this is the custody equivalent of filing discovery, and Amber wanted to move up the deadline on Andrew.

Andrew’s team filed an objection to Amber’s motion.

Their response to her original request will be used at trial, and they have a lot of things to go through.

Andrew’s attorney made some solid points about how shady it was that Amber filed at the last minute like this.

“Respondent filed her discovery requests on February 7, 2022,” Team Andrew noted.

The attorney detailed “which include 26 interrogatories and 20 requests for production of documents.”

“Respondent has had years to conduct discovery,” Andrew’s team noted, “but has waited until the last minute to do so.”

Meanwhile, Andrew’s legal team added that they had served Amber with discovery months ago, in October of 2021.

The attorney claimed that she has “yet to answer.”

Andrew’s team argued that granting her motion would “be rewarding [Amber] and counsel for [their] negligence to this matter to the detriment of [Andrew.]”

However, for whatever reason, the court sided with Amber.

Andrew has to turn over all 26 answers and produce all 20 documents by February 28.

That can be a lot of paperwork to sort through in a limited time … which may have been the point.

Andrew replied with a filing of his own.

His team is asking the court to order Amber to “submit full, complete responses to discovery” that were sent last year.

“Respondent’s responses to discovery are necessary for adequate preparation for a final hearing in this matter on March 2 and March 3, 2022,” he argued.

The judge granted Andrew’s request.

Amber was assigned the deadline of February 14 — how romantic?

However, court documents indicate that Amber provided the documents in time.

This, of course, is just a tug-of-war over discovery documents ahead of next month’s custody trial.

The two have had previous legal scuffles, including Andrew’s accusations that Amber was once again using drugs.

During a custody dropoff, he perceived alarming behavior that made him fear that Amber was high — possibly, he speculated, on meth.

For some reason, it took months before the court ordered the two of them to submit to urine tests.

Both results came back clean … though, of course, urine drug tests only show results from recent days (at the most).

We hope that Amber is well and remains sober.

Amber Portwood and Andrew Glennon Drug Test Results: Who’s Using Meth?

Amber Portwood has a long and complicated history, from domestic violence arrests to drug use.

Last year, Andrew Glennon made startling drug use allegations about Amber, expressing concern over her behavior during a custody dropoff.

As a result, the court ordered Amber and Andrew to undergo a drug test for an array of different drugs.

Now, the results are in. What does this mean for 3-year-old James?

In October, Andrew insisted that Amber needed to be tested for drugs.

Amber has a history of struggles with addiction, but was believed to be clean in recent years.

However, Andrew described witnessing alarming behavior from her, describing her as “paranoid” during a custody exchange.

On January 31, the Indiana judge ordered both Andrew and Amber to be tested.

This wasn’t a simple drug test — Andrew had suspected that Amber might be using meth.

This was a “10 panel urine drug screening.”

The exes were tested for methamphetamines and amphetamintes.

They were also tested for cocaine, marijuana, and opiates, including oxycodone and hydrocodone.

The test covered PCP, methadone, propoxyphene, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, ecstacy, and heroin.

Now, the results are back, and The Sun reports that both Amber and Andrew tested negative to all of the above.

Some of those drugs are, notably, legal, either in other states or even in Indiana.

However, drug-testing in a custody dispute can have less to do with legalities and more to do with who might be impaired, legally or otherwise.

In October, Andrew initially made this request after being alarmed during a custody exchange.

He feared that her “paranoid” behavior might have been due to meth use.

Andrew cited having witnessed Amber use meth in the past, even while pregnant and looking after their child.

For the record, Amber denied Andrew’s allegations in court.

Though they both tested negative on February 1, most drugs are only detectable in urine a few days after being taken.

The exes have another hearing scheduled for Wednesday, March 2, and Thursday, March 3.

Just one year ago, Amber asked to amend the custody agreement so that she could have overnight visits with James.

She was hoping to have overnight visits with him once he turned three years old (his birthday is in May).

The court ordered the two to resolve their custody issues through out-of-court mediation within 60 days, but they were unable to reach an agreement.

These conflicts have been seemingly unending since Amber and Andrew’s bitter and frightening breakup in early July of 2019.

Amber attacked Andrew, apparently over a dispute relating to planning a Fourth of July outing with then-baby James.

Andrew had to lock himself and their child in a room to escape Amber’s violent assault.

While Andrew was not the first partner whom Amber attacked in a fit of domestic violence, it had been years since she had battered Gary Shirley on camera.

The horror story of the house that night stunned Teen Mom fans who had thought that Amber had changed.

The photo of the machete marks, where Amber allegedly hacked at the door that was protecting her partner and son, is unforgettable.

Whatever we think of Amber and Andrew as exes or human beings, the priority must always be James’ safety.

We hope that the court can do its best to guarantee that James has the best, safest life that he can.

The world will know more after the hearing on the matter in just a few weeks.

Amber Portwood and Andrew Glennon: I Will DESTROY You in Family Court!

Last month, Amber Portwood and Andrew Glennon’s custody talks fell through.

Their court-ordered mediation was supposed to result in an agreement. They missed the deadline.

Now, these two very bitter exes are headed to trial.

No one wants their custody arrangement to be decided by the court, but it seems like they have run out of options.

Amber Portwood has had two different children with two different baby daddies.

Both men are both her exes — and her victims.

She and Andrew share a 3-year-old son named James.

The Sun spoke to an inside source who shed light upon their current custody struggles.

“The last mediation they had didn’t go favorably for Amber,” the insider characterized.

“They’ve been trying to work out an agreement in mediation,” the source explained.

The insider continued: “But they just haven’t been able to get anything settled.”

The two tried to hash things out — on the judge’s orders — but could not reach an agreement.

“Now, this is likely headed for trial,” the source predicted.

Interestingly, the inside source seems to sympathize with Amber.

“Amber is doing really well,” the insider characterized.

The source opined: “it’s hard because she isn’t even allowed overnight visits.” Allegedly, she is “ready to fight” to change this.

Amber and Andrew’s custody dispute is, of course, nothing new.

In early July of 2019, their relationship was shattered when Amber physically assaulted Andrew.

She struck him while he held their baby.

When he took himself and baby James to safety, Amber’s rage only seemed to intensify.

Andrew locked himself and James in a room for safety in an effort to shield himself and their son from Amber’s wrath.

Amber reportedly grabbed a machete that she kept in the home and began to hack at the door.

This scene, like something out of a horror movie, marked the end of their relationship.

Fortunately, both Andrew and James survived — and Amber was arrested.

Though she did not go to prison for her crimes, James’ safety was at least taken into consideration.

Andrew was awarded primary physical custody of James at the time.

The two bitter exes share joint legal custody over their son.

Amber is, per the arrangement, permitted three unsupervised visits with James every week.

Months ago, Amber filed a petition with the court, seeking to modify the arrangement.

Specifically, she requested overnight visitation wtih her son.

In February, the judge ruled on that request.

The judge ordered Amber and Andrew to resolve their parenting issues out of court.

They were instructed to use mediation to reach an agreement.

They even had a time limit imposed: sixty days.

Andrew and Amber’s mediation on May 24 was not a success story.

The pair did not reach an agreement.

Amber has the right to request that the court hold a hearing on this matter.

Amber has previously claimed that there is a “change in circumstances” that calls for an adjustment to the current arrangement.

She claims that Indiana Parenting Time Guidelines call for parenting time to turn to overnights when a child turns three.

She even alleged that it was in James’ “best interest” for this change to take place.

One can easily understand why Andrew has balked at turning over his son for overnight visits with Amber, given their history.

This after all is the woman who violently attacked him.

Amber caused what must have been one of the most frightening nights of his life.

Just as Jurassic Park survivors likely wouldn’t send their children to a reopened dinosaur park …

… Andrew likely cannot stop thinking of what it would be like for James without him there to protect him.

Amber being Amber, she seems frustrated that the rest of the world hasn’t just moved past her domestic violence.

Amber Portwood and Andrew Glennon Explode Over Failed Custody Talks: See You in Court!

Teen Mom fans know Amber Portwood for many things, but putting her kids first isn’t really one of them.

Still, she and her latest victim-slash-baby-daddy Andrew Glennon have been embroiled in a bitter custody battle.

This week, the two of them were supposed to have reached an agreement.

But it sounds like they can’t agree on anything — even when the court orders them to.

Andrew Glennon and Amber Portwood met when Amber was still in a previous toxic relationship.

She and her ex were, to fans’ chagrin, trying to work things out on Marriage Boot Camp

Instead, she ran away from Matt Baier and found comfort in the arms of Andrew.

The two hit it off, and eventually welcomed baby James into the world.

James is now three years old.

But his parents have not been together since that fateful day in early July, 2019.

At that time, a simple dispute related to Fourth of July plans turned into a physical attack.

Amber reportedly struck Andrew repeatedly.

Grimly, this was not a surprise, given that her criminal history already included domestic violence against her previous baby daddy, Gary Shirley.

To the horror of fans, there was even more to it, because Andrew was holding baby James at the time.

Andrew reportedly fled to a room for safety, with James, and locked the door.

Amber, the last person who should own a machete, is said to have then begun hacking at the door like something out of a horror movie.

In the aftermath of Amber’s arrest — which lead to her eventual guilty plea — Andrew was granted primary physical custody.

The two currently share joint legal custody.

Amber is, at present, permitted three unsupervised visits with James each week.

However, Amber has petitioned to modify the current situation.

Amber is now seeking to have overnight visitation with their preschool-aged son.

In February, the judge ruled on her request — giving the exes 60 days to come up with a new arrangement through out-of-court mediation.

The Sun reports that Amber and Andrew took part in a mediation on May 24.

However, according to court documents, the mediation was “unsuccessful.”

As such, they are expected to return to court in the future to, well, duke it out over their custody plan.

Amber’s request to modify visitation to include overnight visits claimed that there was reason.

According to her, there was a “change in circumstances” that she felt could “warrant” an adjustment.

Amber’s filing claimed that state guidelines meant that her parenting time should increase and include overnights now that James is 3.

The repeat offender insisted that it is in James’ “best interest” that “the current parenting time be modified.”

She wants it to “include overnight parenting time.”

However, this struggle is not the only part of their custody disagreement.

Amber previously alleged that Andrew violated their custody arrangement.

She claimed that he refused to allow her to see James during the week of Christmas.

She also accused him of neither completing the necessary intake documents nor paying the Parenting Time Coordinator’s retainer.

Amber asked the court that her ex be “held in contempt of court.” This request was granted.

Though contempt citations can lead to jail time, Andrew was instead fined.

He was ordered to pay $500 towards Amber’s attorney fees within the next 30 days.

“[Andrew] has failed to comply with this court’s order to initiate the services of the Parenting Time Coordinator,” Amber’s filing read.

It continued: “and [Andrew] is again attempting to deny [Amber] holiday parenting time over Christmas vacation.”

She said that she was also denied holiday parenting time on October 31 and December 24 of 2019, though this motion was dismissed.

However, Andrew also had a lot to say, providing a calendar from October, November, and December of 2020.

He listed multiple incidents in each month when Amber would cancel or postpone visits from James.

Each time, the reason cited would be Amber allegedly feeling sick, or “weather.”
