If you’re a Duggar fan, you’re probably aware that the feud between Derick Dillard and Jim Bob Duggar has been dragging on for months now.
Derick has spent much of that time leveling damaging accusations against Jim Bob, many of them having to do with the family’s finances and reality show.
Dillard caught the attention of many fans with his allegation that Jim Bob has been stealing from his own kids by pocketing their earnings from TLC.
Now, Derick has upped the ante with another shocking claim about Jim Bob’s employment practices.
The Duggar patriarch now stands accused of exploiting his children during the most traumatic period of their lives.

Jim Bob and Michelle built a 7,000-square foot Arkansas residence using the proceeds from their first TLC specials way back in the day.
Thirteen years and three more kids later, the house serves as the setting for two reality shows – and some very large family gatherings.
Of course, 13 years is a long time and, about half the younger Duggar generation has grown up and moved into homes of their own.
Some of the adult Duggars are just starting out – while some are already living the good life on some very enviable property.

But Jim Bob, Michelle and company have issued a statement in which they hope to bring together a reeling nation during a time of unprecented fear and anxiety.
As you very likely know by now – heck, as you better know by now for the sake of everyone’s health and safety – the United States has been hit by a viral outbreak.
There’s no telling how many people will contract COVID-19, or how many will die from it, but all forecasts point to this crisis as being both severe and long-lasting.
Things will get worse before they get better.
In response to thousands of diagnosed cases and dozens of deaths, U.S. President Donald Trump has declared that America is in a state of national emergency.
He has also urged residents not to gather in groups of more than 10 people, while countless cities have shut down restaurants, bars and public establishments.
Schools are closed around the nation. Professional sports are on hiatus. Beloved celebs are being diagnosed.
It’s an all-out crisis, you guys.
The Duggar family, however, would like everyone to try and relax.
Not because this isn’t a serious situation; but because they think that turning to a higher power will at least calm some fears and concerns.
“We know that this Coronavirus situation is unprecedented,” reads a formal statement from the Arkansas family on Facebook.
“Beyond the health threat, there are so many unknown economic and societal impacts this virus is making worldwide.”
It’s true, of course.
As we write this and the TLC stars and alums make their plea, Congress is working on economic packages to assist folks who will be out of work for the foreseeable future.
So many people out there don’t know when their next paycheck will arrive, while no one is quite sure what will happen next overall. And all that’s aside from the virus itself.
For this reason, the Duggars are urging fans and followers to take solace in the only reliable outlet that exists at all times, through the good, bad and everything in between.
“The one thing we do know is that even in the darkest days and in the most challenging times, we can put our trust and hope in God,” continues the Facebook statement.
“Let’s all pray for one another, for our leaders, for our healthcare workers, and especially for our elderly.”
“Let’s all look for ways to love and care for our neighbors with the greatest risk,” the family urges.
The statement ended with these hashtags:

There are probably readers out there who criticize the family for everything, and scoff at this message.
Typical Duggars. Let’s maybe trust the doctors and scientists right now above all else, they figure.
But we can do both, right?
We definitely need to heed the advice of all experts and to take every practical precaution they recommend in order to overcome this outbreak.
There’s nothing wrong with also relying on one’s faith, though.
Even the harshest Duggar critics can recognize this.
So, as a sign of national unity and as a symbolic gesture that we really are in this together, let’s put aside our differences.
Let’s thank them instead, as we continue to hope that the Duggar family – and everyone around the world – stays healthy.

Derick Dillard is not exactly on great terms with his awful in-laws. For that matter, even Jill has to beg for permission to see her own siblings.
Now, Derick has taken a liking to the idea of a Dillard family spinoff of Counting On, where they could expose Jim Bob for exactly what he is.
“Hey @TLC you know what show would be a hit?” a fan’s tweet asks. “@jillmdillard and @derickmdillard: Breaking Free.”
“They have a story to tell,” the tweet reads, “and it’s time for some truth to be told!”
“It would be amazing to see their journey,” the fan eagerly expresses.
In addition to tagging both Jill and Derick, the tweet ends with the hashtags: “#tlc #CountingOn #leavingthecult #RealityTV.“
In and of itself, that tweet is simply a pretty intriguing idea from a fan.
Like so many who have become aware of what the Duggar family is truly like, this Twitter denizen wants Jim Bob and Michelle exposed.
From child abuse to coverups to neglect to exerting overwhelming financial control, the Duggars who started it all have a lot for which to answer.
But here is where Derick Dillard weighed in:
On Twitter, Derick Dillard “liked” the tweet.
Likes are publicly visible, so not only can this be seen by searching his “likes,” but by looking at the tweet’s activity. Derick shows up.
And, thanks to a Twitter feature that literally nobody asked for or appreciates, any of his over 120,000 followers could then see the tweet promoted to their feeds.
People rarely if ever “like” a tweet because they want to bookmark it. They “like” tweets as an endorsement.
So why does Derick “like” this idea so much?
Probably because he would like to speak his mind, which he currently only does to a degree.
It is believed that Derick engages in some tongue-biting when it comes to Jim Bob Duggar, possibly for the sake of Jill or their financial prospects.
But even the fan belief that Jim Bob gives his adult children an “allowance” hasn’t stopped Derick from blowing one story wide open.
Somewhat recently, Derick announced to fans that he and Jill were never paid for appearing on Counting On.
Derick says that the family was led to believe that they were appearing on the show as a form of service or even “ministry.”
Jim Bob then received the salary from TLC and allegedly kept whatever he wanted for himself.
This claim has not been confirmed but it is very believable. The Duggars would not be the first reality family paid with a single paycheck.
But setting aside payment models that should be illegal, Derick has been dropping hints that he has much more to say.
He has even suggested that he may write a tell-all book about Jim Bob and all that he has experienced with the Duggar family.
Whether he was just trolling fans or taking the chance to make Jim Bob sweat at the idea, fans were interested.
Jim Bob needs to be taken down. But no matter what he does, is Derick in any position to do it?
The trouble is that Derick is note xactly a good person. The guy is an unabashed bigot.
His transphobic attacks against a minor teenage girl, Jazz Jennings, drew the ire of his own fans and of TLC.
He’s one of those dudes who thinks that Drag Queen Story Hours are somehow inherently inappropriate.
Derick and Jill have also been accused multiple times of trying to fleece their fans of cash.
That said, sometimes prosecutors grant sweetheart deals to genuinely bad people so that they will testify against someone much worse.
Maybe it would be for the greater good if some reality TV network financed Derick’s takedown of Jim Bob Duggar.
Derick would have to be able to back up what he has to say for his words to carry weight. Jill’s word would probably mean more than his to most.
We doubt that TLC will go for it as long as they’re airing Counting On. But maybe Derick should see if WeTV will bite.
He may not deserve a new reality gig, but there would be a market for it.

Jill Duggar may have married an infamous bigot, but she has made it clear that in other respects, she’s unwilling to walk in her awful parents’ footsteps.
She only has two children, Samuel and Israel. And her sister-in-law just let it slip that Jill and Derick are not planning on adding a third child.
Israel David Dillard was born in 2015. He is four years old, and will turn five in about a month and a half.
Samuel Scott Dillard was born in 2017. He is two years old.
Jill has revealed on multiple occassions that she feels overwhelmed by her role as a stay-at-home mom. Every day is chaos.
Now, it seems that Jill has decided two is enough.
We know this because her sister-in-law Lauren Swanson just accidentally spilled those serious beans on Instagram.
Lauren Swanson held an Instagram Q&A and one person very bluntly that she post a “link to crib” in case anyone else wanted one like it.
“I’m afraid I don’t have a link to the crib,” Lauren confessed in her Instagram Stories.
She explains that “it was a hand-me-down.”
From whom, you ask? Well, Lauren solved that puzzle by tagging Jill Duggar Dillard.
Hand-me-downs are a common practice in families, but the Duggars exist on the fringes of society and so do their habits.
Why would someone who is planning on having four or six or eight or twelve or, say, nineteen children pass on a perfectly good crib to her brother?
The answer is simple: she very likely would not.
If Jill were currently pregnant, trying to get pregnant, or even planning on the possibility of becoming pregnant within the next two years, she’d almost certainly keep the crib.
It’s not just that having two young children makes every day a fast-paced chaotic nightmare that takes a week’s worth of energy out of you.
For Jill, even the pregnancies have been difficult and even dire.
With Israel and with Samuel, Jill struggled with labor and ended up having C-sections.
And Samuel spent weeks in NICU after his birth, Jill and Derick ended up with a five-digit hospital bill.
It’s a reminder that certain aspects of our healthcare system would benefit from being overhauled, but that’s a conversation for another time.
Naturally, Jill’s decision is unlikely to sit well with her parents, who taught their daughters from a young age that procreation is their primary reason for being.
But at this point, Jill is likely well accustomed to feeling like a disappointment to Jim Bob.
She’s not the only member of her family who has been labeled a “rebel” after marriage, but at this point, she might be the one who’s defied her parents the most.
And the contentious relationship that she and Derick have with the overbearing Jim Bob seems to become more tense by the day.
Jill apparently cannot go to visit her parents’ home without Jim Bob’s express permission, even to assist in a birth.
That guy really loves control.
Meanwhile, notorious child-molester Josh Duggar seems able to come and go from the house as he pleases — so long as he does not play hide-and-seek.
Now, no one is claiming that Derick Dillard is a good person — that would be absurd. He’s a notorious bigot.
But fans do applaud him for going to war, verbally speaking, with Jim Bob.
Derick has been calling him out for being controlling, dishonest, and for keeping money to himself.
Jill’s life may be chaos now, but having just two kids is the right move for her household and will give her time to actually know and love her kids.
Michelle cannot honeslty say she’s done her children the same favor.
