Tori Roloff Breaks Down in Tears Over Baby Lilah’s Health Woes

While the Amy vs Matt drama took center stage in this season’s Little People, Big World teaser, that wasn’t all.

The trailer shows Tori Roloff break down into tears over medical fears about baby Lilah. What condition does she have?

“It seems like she’s in pain,” a worried Tori Roloff describes of her young daughter, baby Lilah Roloff.

She is seated at the table speaking to her husband, Zach, about their little girl.

While babies may cry because they are uncomfortable, hungry, or need to be changed, Tori fears that Lilah has something more serious.

“The last couple of days,” Tori shares in a voiceover, “Lilah hasn’t been feeling very well.”

“And today,” the concerned mom continues, “she woke up pretty bad.”

Tori has been piecing together the symptoms and has come to a worrisome conclusion.

“These are symptoms that babies have when they have hydrocephalus,” Tori points out, presumably after listing signs that she has seen in Lilah.

Zach is kind enough to give a simplified explanation of hydrocephalus while speaking to the camera, calling it “fluid build-up in the head.”

He is correct. The name literally means “water head,” so its meaning was not a huge mystery.

The simplest cause of the buildup of cerebrospinal fluid in the brain would be a birth defect, though others can develop hydrocephalus later in life.

The swelling can cause a number of symptoms, including painful swelling and even a rapid increase in head size.

Upon diagnosis, treatment often takes the form of a shunt, which drains the excess fluid. Many people with these shunts go on to lead normal lives.

About one or two out of every 1,000 newborns have hydrocephalus.

Tori accurately says: “If that’s what it is, things could go really scary, really quickly.”

And she explains that she doesn’t want to put off discovering what ails Lilah.

Through tears, Tori says: “I just don’t want to have to go to the emergency room at 5AM and we have to go to the emergency room.”

To be clear, Tori is not complaining about how inconvenient of a time for an ER visit 5AM would be.

Rather, she clearly hopes to be proactive and get Lilah diagnosed and, if necessary, treated before the situation becomes an emergency.

Tori Roloff - I don't know why I'm so emotional

At one point during this conversation, Tori covers her face with her hand as she breaks down into sobs.

“I don’t know why I’m so emotional,” she confesses.

Her mother-in-law, Amy, embraces her in a hug of comfort and emotional support.

There is no actual mystery as to why Tori is in tears over this.

Having a child who is in obvious pain and there is nothing that you can do about it yourself is heartbreaking.

Contemplating that your newborn might have to undergo major surgery is a horror, as many parents know all too well.

Jackson joins his parents and grandmother at the table.

He may not know what hydrocephalus means — Jackson is a bright young 3-year-old, but we imagine that his knowledge of Greek is limited.

But there is no doubt that he can understand the tension of the conversation if not the entirety of the subject being discussed.

You can watch that clip and more in this trailer.

Little People, Big World returns to TLC on September 29.

Little People, Big World Preview: Matt vs. Amy! Again!

New Little People, Big World season?

Same old problems between Amy and Matt Roloff?

When we last left off between the former spouses on air, they weren’t getting along very well.

Matt was pressuring Amy to sell him her portion of the family farm, a deal she eventually agreed to… albeit somewhat reluctantly.

As those who follows the Roloffs closely know well by now, Amy has since moved off the property she called home for three decades and into a brand new house.

But she hasn’t seem very happy about it, as Amy herself has made clear multiple times.

Fast forward to new episodes, which premiere on TLC on Septemnber 29 and, yes, Amy is off the farm.

However, issues with her ex persist.

“This is it, the house is being emptied,” Amy says in the trailer as she finishes packing. “I’m kind of sad, how 30 years can be just put in a box, and poof, I’m out.”

She adds: “My story is gone. It’s walked out the door.”

This is clearly a challenging transition for the mother of four, and it’s made all the more diffiicult by the way she clashes with Matt over spending time on the farm.

“She’s had trouble letting go in general and that’s something she has to work through on her own time,” he says at one point.

Despite no longer residing in the home she resided in for 30 years, Amy still co-owns part  the property with Matt, leading to some lingering tensions between the two.

And also between Amy and fiance Chris Marek, who we see arguing in the preview.

As well as between Amy and Matt’s serious girlfriend, Caryn Chandler, who quips toward the end of this footage:

“Sometimes I feel like I’m still married to her.”

“I wish you wouldn’t be so defensive,” Matt tells his ex-wife in on scene, to which Amy fires back: “I wish you wouldn’t be so pushy.”

Yikes, huh?

Matt has said that Little People, Big World is edited to make things seem worse than they actually are between him and Amy, but still:

Things could obviously be better between them.

Elsewhere in this extended sneak peek, Zach Roloff expresses concern about expanding his family.

“I’m nervous about juggling a newborn, a toddler and a dog at the same time. It’s a lot to handle,” he says.

And then wife Tori expresses concern about the couple’s second child, a daughter named Lilah who was born as a little person.

She has “fluid” in her head and there’s seemingly potential for major medical complications as a result.

“Things can get really scary really quickly,” she notes.

Check out the preview now and then prepare for new episodes in just a few weeks.

We can’t wait!

Little People, Big World Canceled By TLC: End of an Era

Just as TLC confirmed the return date of Little People, Big World, they also began to give fans reason to worry.

Is this string of episodes to mark the final season?

Little People, Big World is coming back with new episodes on September 29.

The new run of fresh, never-before-seen episodes about the Roloffs will air at 9pm on that Tuesday evening.

We’re all looking forward to this new Roloff content. But … what comes next?

Some fans are concerned that this could be the end, and not simply because the show has had so many seasons.

The cause for concern is not rooted in how many of the show’s stars are now former stars — Jacob, Jeremy, and Audrey among them.

Instead, fans are concerned about the phrasing of TLC’s recent press release, on which we reported recently.

“It’s the end of an era on LITTLE PEOPLE, BIG WORLD,” TLC’s release begins ominously.

The post continues: “As Amy prepares to say goodbye to the farm for good.”

“But while she’s officially moving off the farm,” the release notes, “she still co-owns part of it with Matt.”

The release speaks of Matt “who is eager to get everything settled between them in terms of ownership.”

“Meanwhile,” the post teases, “Zach and Tori are experiencing the joys and challenges of parenthood with baby Lilah and Jackson.”

The two parents are focused upon “making sure both children are getting the care and attention they need.”

“The new episodes also offer a glimpse into how the Roloff’s world is impacted by the COVID-19 crisis,” the release confirms.

These impacts range “from a quarantine birthday party to the stress of moving in the middle of a pandemic.”

There’s a lot here that is interesting, but one line in particular stands out the most.

TLC press release LPBW 14B

Saying that it’s “the end of an era” for the show is … a little jarring, and a little concerning for some fans.

After all, it starts with “the end.” That in and of itself is enough to make eyes pop with alarm.

So many series finales and final seasons have been teased with the line “the end of an era.”

With so much having changed on the show, you can see how some viewers may be worried about the series getting the axe.

Never mind the family members who have left over the years — the central marriage has been no more for years.

And now, the future of Roloff Farms is more uncertain than ever before.

However, we have to emphasize that “the end of an era” is a deeply vague term, and very appropriate to describe this season.

Amy bidding farewell to the farm where she raised her children is monumental.

It’s not just a staggering change for her — it speaks to the very different dynamic for the show itself.

Change, however, can inject new life into even the longest-running reality TV shows.

Sometimes, a show like Little People, Big World can fall into a rut after well over a decade of broadcasts.

But Amy getting a new home while Zach and Tori adjust to a two-child household is prime fodder to engage longtime fans — and new ones, too.

So many reality shows are covering how their stars have coped (and are still attempting to cope) with the COVID-19 pandemic.

After all, the US is still neck-deep in this deadly virus. It’s as relevant now as it was this spring.

Besides, we’re all more than a little curious to see how our favorite reality stars’ experiences compare and contrast to our own as we near our sixth month in lockdown.

Little People, Big World: All the Roloff Scandals… REVEALED!

The Roloffs are not the Kardashians.

We mostly tune in to Little People, Big World on a weekly basis because we want to see a bunch of relatives interact who basically just enjoy each other’s company.

They don’t fight. They don’t exploit each other. There’s very little drama and almost no controversy.

ALMOST, we said.

Over the years, various members of this close-knit family have had run-ins with the law, clashes with social media users and also taken part in other scandalous affairs that may come as a surprise.

We still love Matt, Amy and company.

As you are about to find out, however, they are not perfect. Far from it…

1. CHEATER!

Matt and amy talk the farm
In her memoir, Amy came right out and accused her ex-husband of cheating on her with girlfriend Caryn Chandler. If not physically, then at the very least emotionally. “We had someone that worked for us for a very long time, on our farm,” Amy wrote. “And I believe – this is all from my perspective= that there was more than just friends going on. And I think that evolved to a point where that got in the way of our marriage as well.”

2. Jacob Dropped Out of High School

And he didn’t do so quietly, either, engaging on Twitter with someone who gave him props to his “high intellect,” but critcized him for dropping out in protest of public institutions, to which Jacob replied: “If you can tell my intellectual level with me not having finished formal high school, why do I still need it? Just to say so?” He added that he had a “hard time being excited” for his friends going to a four-year college. “I think you could learn a lot more for a lot less.”

3. Matt Got Arrested for Drunk Driving

The incident took place in 2007, after he was stopped near his home for swerve in and out and his lane. Six months after the arrest, he was found not guilty in court.

4. Jeremy the… Bigot?

Jeremy bigot
Way back in 2008, Jeremy Roloff was accused of writing racist and homophobic messages on his MySpace account. The situation was brought to everyone’s attention by the National Enquirer story excerpted above. The messages at the time insulted African-Americans, Mexicans and gay people.

5. Jacob the… Drug User?

Jacob roloff lost in thought
We can’t say this one is too stunning, but Jacob once Tweeted: “Who doesn’t suck at selling weed Hmu.” That acronym stands for Hit Me Up.

6. Roloff Farms… Sued?

Yes. In 2011, a Washington woman named Linda Farrall alleged that she was injured due to a fall from a picnic pavilion at the property. She sued the Roloffs for negligence and the case was settled out of court.
