On last weekend’s episode of 90 Day Fiance, Patrick Mendes left that nice house in Austin for his new home in Dallas.
Thais Ramone was less than happy with the move, mostly because John would still be living with them.
From the start, fans have been concerned about Thais, especially over her intrusive tracking of Patrick’s phone.
Now, however, we know why she went to such extremes to keep track of Patrick: he cheated on her.
In this sneak peek clip of Season 9, Episode 9 of 90 Day Fiance, Patrick Mendes gives Thais Ramone a gift.
It’s not a Christmas present, he says, but a welcome-to-America present: a new phone.
The phone does come with one caveat: he will not be giving her access to his location at every moment anymore.
Thais is very clearly less than pleased.
Though she is still going to accept the phone (he tells her that he could always refuse the gift), it feels almost like a trick.
Meanwhile, Patrick explains that the time of her tracking his location should now be over.
Patrick — along with some seemingly random bar patrons during his first episode — understood the desire to track him when she was in Brazil.
Now, though, she doesn’t have to guess when he’s asleep in his bed, because she’s in the same bed.
“This gives me a lot of anxiety, love,” Patrick explains to her.
“It feels bad when I’m with somebody and they’re the love of my life,” Patrick explains.
“And they don’t trust me,” he continues. “It doesn’t feel good.”
This is when Thais reminds Patrick that her concern about his faithfulness was not conjured out of thin air.
Thais notes that Patrick once gave her a reason to not trust him.
Patrick dismisses this as “in the past,” but she presses him to admit on camera why she is so concerned.
This is when he says that he simply “spoke to a girl” early in his relationship with Thais. But is that the truth of it?
But if all that he did was speak to another woman, then the only thing that he would have done with his mouth is, you know, form and vocalize words.
That is not the case, Thais says, since he hooked up with her.
Patrick objects, revising his story to say that all that they did was “kiss,” but a kiss is not talking, Patrick.
Patrick tries to do some mental gymnastics: “I think it’s different, like when you kiss a girl between have sex with a girl.”
One, hooking up is a deliberately vague (and downright inclusive) term that can mean everything from four-person shower sex to making out.
So, yes, they hooked up.
Two, you don’t generally get to decide that what you did physically with another person was not cheating.
You and your partner(s) set those boundaries together.
So, yes, it was cheating, even if some relationships wouldn’t consider a kiss to be cheating — that has nothing to do with Thais and Patrick.
Patrick is not taking this seriously, it seems, but Thais is clearly hurt.
On the one hand, she can’t and should not hold this over his head forever — either let him earn back your trust, or leave him.
At the same time, he needs to take her feelings seriously, even if that does not include her tracking his location anymore.
Patrick is a handsome guy who makes good money, so his behavior would have to be wildly out-of-line for the majority of 90 Day Fiance fans to dislike him.
(Case in point: Bilal and the Lifetime movie plot that he’s putting Shaeeda through)
But that doesn’t mean that Thais (who, as an attractive young woman with an accent, is baiting the fandom’s worst elements) is a bad guy, or even unreasonable.

It is no secret that Audrey and Jeremy Roloff feel that Matt screwed them over.
The Little People, Big World feud seems to have always been inevitable, because there’s no way to make everyone happy with something as big as the farm.
But Audrey says that it was more than just inevitable hurt feelings.
Calling it the “death of a dream,” Auj makes it clear that, for years, the couple thought that they would have at least a chance to buy the farm.
Matt Roloff’s version of events has not gone over well with his family.
Zach was the first to call him out in a very public way.
Audrey spoke to fans in a recent Instagram Q&A about the now-dead dream of purchasing Roloff Farms, in whole or in part, for themselves.
“We tried to back in May of 2020,” she revealed to her fans and followers on Instagram.
“We shared what we felt comfortable sharing about that in a podcast episode,” Audrey added, of course plugging her and Jeremy’s project.
She continued: “Jer and I hoped to take over his parents’ farm (or a portion of it) since he was a child.”
“It was something he was led to believe was possible,” Audrey wrote, taking on a decidedly accusatory tone.
“He made it very known to his family,” she emphasized.
“And,” Audrey continued, he made it known “publicly on TV.”
“It became a mutual dream when we got married,” Auj expressed.
“And,” she recalled, “we started working towards it.”
Audrey very accurately shared that it was “no secret” that the controversial couple hoped to close in on the family farm one day.
Audrey said that their plans were “very public,” which is fair enough.
It was clear on the show, and it was also clear on social media (and in their book, lol) after they departed reality television in 2018.
The implication is that Matt had plenty of chances to let his children (and in-laws) know that this might not happen … but didn’t.
“When we were finally at a point where it was practically possible, we made an offer,” Audrey revealed.
“But,” she continued, she and husband Jeremy “realized maybe it wasn’t meant to be.”
Audrey shared that, together, she and Jer planned on “saving” the farm.
“We realized that Jer’s family was not actually as aligned in the progression towards us acquiring it as we thought they were,” Audrey wrote.
That is an extremely awkward sentence, but those sometimes happen when you are phrasing things diplomatically.
“I say ‘save it,'” Auj explained, “because every year there has been this threat of having to sell the farm if … XYZ.”
“As you have maybe noticed with Jer’s family,” Auj wrote, “things can be a little complicated.”
So, too, are emotions.
She admitted that was “incredibly hard” for her and for Jeremy to let go of the farm and of their dream of buying it.
After all, there was more conecting them to the land than just Jeremy’s childhood.
Audrey reminded her fans and followers that the couple “fell in love there, got married there, helped run the businesses there.”
These are not milestones that are easily forgotten.
“We really did think we’d raise our kids there,” Audrey wrote.
“Like I said, it was the death of a dream,” she characterized.
Auj even went so far as to characterize the property as having been a “third parent” to Jeremy rather than “just a piece of property.”

Late last year, 90 Day Fiance alum Evelyn Cormier filed to divorce David Vazquez Zermeno.
Evelyn was not exactly a fan-favorite on her season, but she still went on to make a splash on American Idol.
Her marriage, however, turned out to be more of a wash — accusing him of emotional abuse, narcissism, and failing to hold up his end of the deal in the bedroom.
Now, the two have finalized their divorce.
It took just five months after Evelyn’s November divorce filing for the divorce process to be completed.
In Touch Weekly reports that a judge signed off on the divorce on April 22.
Evelyn and David are currently living on opposite coasts of the United States, so they both participated in the divorce electronically.
Some fans of 90 Day Fiance have expressed fear that Evelyn might return for a stint on 90 Day: The Single Life.
Earlier this year, Evelyn addressed whether she plans to make a franchise comeback.
“I’ve had several people ask me if I plan to be on 90 Day: Single Life, and my simple answer is no,” Evelyn stated.
“At this point, I’m not thinking about my next relationship,” Evelyn shared in March.
“It’s so important to heal mentally and emotionally before jumping into anything new,” she affirmed.
“I want a healthy fresh start when I’m ready for it,” Evelyn added. “For now, I’m focusing on myself.”
Evelyn was only 18 years old when she appeared on 90 Day Fiance.
On a very recent episode of 90 Day Diaries, she confessed that she had realized her mistake in marrying so young.
“I knew immediately that I had made a really big mistake and I had to live with that,” she expressed to her family on camera.
“I married David when I was only 18,” Evelyn noted to producers.
“I think that I felt like, 18 is young but my parents did it. It worked out for them,” she added.
“I know that it’s okay to have issues in your relationship,” Evelyn shared, “but I was just blinded.”
One of the issues may have less to do with her youth and more to do with the age gap.
The difference in age between her and David, who is about 8 years her senior, might be insignificant now.
But when Evelyn was 18 years old, David was a grown man in his mid-twenties.
To make matters worse, there was how they met — on social media, chatting each other up on Instagram before meeting and, two weeks later, becoming engaged.
Many people meet on social media these days before becoming romantically entangled.
However, the timing of it all was not exactly how the two presented it on television.
As Evelyn and David’s storyline aired, cyber-sleuths dug up old, old interactions from Instagram.
They had begun “talking” in public comments when Evelyn was in her early teens — when David was already in his twenties.
That is not a meet cute. Depending upon what went on in their DMs, there could have been manipulation, inappropriate talk, and possibly (actual) grooming.
Some have joked (or not-quite-joked) that David lost interest in Evelyn because she became a grown woman in her twenties.
That might be unfair … or it might not … but people have a lot of questions about this creep.
Evelyn was the one who made a terrible on-screen impression, but ultimately David is the one who comes across as the true villain of their story.
On Sunday, May 15, Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker were married … like, for real, this time.

For one thing, when they drove off, their car was sporting a handwritten “Just Married” sign like millions of others have for generations.
The vehicle included a number of empty cans on strings, which you mostly just see on cartoons. Such a cute touch.
Kourtney’s grandmother and Travis’ father were there for the nuptials.
What’s really interesting is that, even though this is not their first time at the altar, it also won’t be their last.
They are already reportedly planning a larger wedding — one that will take place in Italy.
Some people are so anxious about having a wedding that they choose to elope — for just one wedding.
Many consider wedding planning such a stressful event that they almost reconsider going through it.
Kourtney and Travis are planning a third ceremony for one continuous relationship … so they clearly feel differently.
The first time was a mix-up, pure and simple.
After Travis performed at the Grammy Awards (he is, in addition to Kourtney’s new husband, also something of a musician), the pair went to a Vegas wedding chapel.
There, officiated by an Elvis impersonator, the two held a wedding ceremony … one that was photographed and widely reported upon.
It turned out, however, that there was no marriage certificate issued.
Las Vegas is considered something of a “fast lane” when it comes to the process of getting legally married, but you do need a valid marriage license.
Clark County had no record of any such documentation, which must come before the ceremony. Therefore, it was more of a rehearsal.
What’s interesting is that reports of this missing piece of paperwork came out almost immediately.
We ourselves reported this conflicting narrative mere hours after the would-be nuptials took place.
Kourtney did not actually acknowledge that the wedding wasn’t legally binding until a couple of days later.
It is widely believed that Kourtney and Travis did not realize that they did not have all of their ducks in a row when they tied the knot in Vegas.
Perhaps the venue believed that they had the right paperwork, or were simply too taken aback by their celebrity status to turn them down.
Either way, this sounds like it must have been embarrassing for the two of them. Whoops, not married!
This time, however, all reports say that their marriage is legal and binding.
The lawfully wedded spouses don’t need to have a ceremony in Italy, but perhaps it’s what they want.
Or maybe it’s what Kris Jenner wants — for herself, and for the family’s Hulu series.
